For the longest time I've only listened to metal, punk or really experimental, noisy things so I really gravitated towards your channel because you seem to enjoy this type of music a lot as well. This decade however (I've started watching you in 2015 btw), I managed to expand my horizon to so much more amazing music genres and I learned how to appreciate softer and more melodic artists which I now love just as much as what I've previously listened to. I also grew to appreciate a lot of classic artists I've discarded as mainstream before like the Beatles or Prince. A big part of this (besides rym and deep cuts) was your incredible dedication not to a specific genre but to music as a whole. All your starter packs, tier lists, not goods and normal reviews infected me with that general love of music as well and I feel like I've become a better listener the past couple of years. I'm looking forward to all the new and old music I will discover this decade and to hearing from you about it. There are still a lot of genres and artists on my list that I don't know a lot about and that want to be explored. Thank you for what you do!

It's a pretty mediocre list and has opened my eyes to the fact that Fantano places far more emphasis on the timely as opposed to the timeless. The only tracks I even mildly agree with in the top 20 are Helplessness Blues and Black Star, songs that actually convey a timely emotion within a timeless scope. I can't believe that Charlie XCX and Career Boy are in the top 20 of the past 10 years. Apocalypse Dreams is on the same level as Helplessness Blues, that's just off the top of my head.

Helplessness Blues as Melon said is a precise prediction of the feelings and struggles of an entire generation but layered in heavenly beautiful music. I often find myself lacking for words to describe the perfection of this album. Really it amazes me how Robin can sing and harmonizes really sad and self realization lyrics on top of those angelic melodies. The end of a relationship, the desire of being isolated and fulfilled (Innisfree) but at the same time be part of something greater than you, death... And everything is being said in such a romantic way. This album deserves so much more atention that it really has but I feel lucky that I know the greatness of this gem.

I was so surprised with your number 2 pick! I am a huge fleet foxes fan and was not expecting that one at all. I feel like the song has gotten lost amongst their huge discography and does not get the respect if deserves. I am also shocked the album came out this decade . Although it was released early on, you don’t see the album get mentioned a lot in these types of lists. Unfortunately , it seems like anything the foxes do will be compared to Their first LP. Helplessness blues is a masterwork in writing about wanting your place in the world and needing to feel like your part of something bigger . It has I believe three distinctly different codas, fused seemlessly through lush and beautiful harmonies . My favorite song of the decade is Do Ya Thing by Gorrilaz, James Murphy, and Andre 3000. It's a masterpiece in music imo.
