SPOILER FOR #1: What entirely amazes me about To Pimp a Butterfly is that over time, it will stand as a story only Kendrick could have told. You don’t really see rappers pushing the infusion of jazz, fusion, funk, etc. because TPAB is SO unique that any effort to do it is seen as derivative. But the content and messages are still as relevant as ever, and the theme of introspection/self is still being carried on to date (e.g. Eminem Darkness). Modern masterpiece.

I don’t know if it is fair to put “Now that’s what I call music 2010-2019” in the top 1...

I freaked out when I saw Faces at 195. I wasn't expecting anything from Mac to appear on this list so I'm stoked. Fantastic list, Anthony.

MrCheeseman831 it grew on him maybe, I don’t know why GKMC didn’t make it tho

He gave a slightly positive review (6/10) but clearly it grew on him and he thought it was an important release of the 2010's. Anthony explained in a new video on the Fantano channel that he thought TPAB and GKMC were similar enough that he didn't want to include both to highlight other albums and artists.

I know this is 3 years old but the fact that Cudi managed to be honorable mention on the worst of the decade and also in the top 10 of the best albums of the decade is such incredible range for an artist

Always makes me wonder what he actually thinks "the most" is for each one of these... and why it's not on the list instead...

Honestly, you can do that for any KZbinr. They don't know how to speak in anything but superlatives.

@@th3giv3r What is a superlative? We didn't learn that in public school
@Paulito-ym4qc4 жыл бұрын
@@vz2428 is that a joke i'm not getting? if so, i'm sorry. a superlative is basically the most. the best, the biggest, the ugliest, the liudest e.t.c., it's cranking it up to 100%, and can get very annoying when people use it to much. which is funny because one of the most is basically anthony avoiding superlatives since he doesn't say the most, but i get the point. (or not if im getting r/woooshed rn)

@@th3giv3r Excuuuuse me, Mr. PHD, futura scientist, animal neurosurgeon, "I don't use superlative cause I'm a superior speaker" clown. Superlatives are a good way to express their love for something. So why don't you just fuck off.

Anthony, I just wanted to thank you for being such a consistent source of musical discovery for me in the past ten years. Congratulations on 2 million subscribers and thank you for your service. This list is amazing and dense and so full of blood/sweat/tears that I can't wait to dive in later!
