I have a RI MS and love it. The 10mm packs a punch. My best friend purchased a Delta back in the 80's and I asked him why he said I wanted a caliber that not everyone had. I shot his gun and fell in love with the 10mm. It took me years to buy a gun, but now I shoot it often.

I have a Kimber Stainless Raptor II in 10mm that I bought last year and I love it! It’s one of the most beautiful guns I’ve seen! After watching your review on the Iver Johnson 10mm ported long slide, I set out to buy one. It seems like they import them in batches and lots of places have them for a while, then they disappear for quite some time. When I was looking, there were none available. I ended up finding a really, really great deal on the same exact gun in.45. Love it! A trigger job did wonders for it. I have had a few misfeeds on the 10. I have a friend who can work magic on 1911’s, but I want to try a different magazine first. I read in several forums that 45 magazines solve a lot of feeding issues in 10s. I would love to try that, but COVID 19 has all of the ranges closed. Have you ever tried that? Great video even though it’s 3 years old.

Unless you know exactly how much to tweak the feed lips on a .45 magazine, they won't work very well. At best, it will still be hit or miss trying to get them to feed 10mm reliably.

Caspian Arms sells frames and slides in 10mm. Thinking about a titanium double stack commander length. Unfortunately you cannot have an officer sized frame with fully custom gunsmithing it. That would be my dream carry piece.

Perfect timing for me to see this video of your 10mm picks for 2017. It just so happens that my R.I.A. Ultra FS HC that I just purchased from The Georgia Gun Store arrives at my FFL tomorrow. This is my 1st 10mm and my 1st 1911 style handgun for ownership, and I own 8 handguns, currently, many more over the last 30 years. But, my dream gun has always been a good quality 10mm in a 1911 format, especially under a grand, and now I even have $375 left over...Sweet! I've never even held the R.I.A. HC before; they're a bit hard to find. I was on the watch list for 11 months for this gun, and missed it one time because I wasn't fast enough (got the availability email while at work and they were all gone across the nation by the time I got home, 4 hours after receiving the email). I'm not concerned about it turning out to be a better purchase for someone else, though (as you humorously mentioned about one of your acquisitions).... I'm 6'7" with large hands... ha ha. I'm counting on it being a keeper. Thanks for posting... always feels good to be validated. Oh, and now I'm a subscriber, too..

I also love the 10MM. I have an original Colt Delta Elite Stainless that I used as my duty weapon for 11 years before retiring the first time. Back then I was also doing custom handgun work on the side and added a Wilson BT grip safety, Trijicon sights and Wilson trigger. Now I carry a department issued Glock 22. I enjoy your videos and insight from a "kindred spirit" as I am past the 64yr mark. :)

Just wanted to give an update. I recently purchased a Glock 20SF Gen3. I added TruGlo w/Tritium sights and some Talon rubber grip tape. It is now my duty gun. The City Marshal told me I could carry pretty much whatever I wanted. I came across this Glock 20SF at a local GS for an excellent price and snatched it up.

We can’t own firearms in the uk without the proper license which is really hard to get. So I have pcp and spring air guns pistols under 6ft lbs rifles under 12ft lbs, which is ok to satisfy most of us. I only target shoot I’m not a hunter so the lower power is fine for me. What I did notice was the first gun was a polymer construction. Do they last as well as the steel ones? I’ve just bought a weihrauch hw110st rifle which is made mostly of polymer similar to the glocks. I’m pretty impressed with it so far. Thanks Martin

Icarryone, I have now shot over 500 rounds on my RIA A2 HC 52009 which is one of your picks. I have surprisingly enjoyed every shot and so have the staff at my shooting range. They were so impressed with the feel and finish, they now want one too. The 52009 is hard to find but got a great deal from Georgia Gun Store online. For the price, it is very well balanced and accurate with 16 Rds (lots of fire power).

Definitely give the Sig P220 in 10mm a run. The weight in this thing (~50 oz fully-loaded) is softer shooting than my Kimber in 10mm. This is using Sig and DoubleTap ammo

I consider myself a good handgun shot, having spent over 20 years as a police firearms instructor. I just tried the Tanfoglio polymer 10mm. Maybe I got a lemon, but I hated it. Acceptably accurate to 15 yards; beyond that I might as well have been throwing rocks. Even bench rested, the pattern was all over the target at 25 yards.. It immediately went back to the shop. I'm sticking with my Springfield XDm in 10mm. I have one in each of the two barrel lengths. Each has a couple of thousand rounds through it already. Excellent accuracy, soft shooting even with the powerful Underwood ammo, and not a single hiccup so far.

Sorry you had that experience - mine has been quite the opposite. I'll have to take your word concerning the XDM-10mm, as I have no experience with it. Due to their refusal to warranty a brand new, yet defective rifle I bought from them a number of years ago, I won't buy "any" Springfield Armory products.

I own many handguns, but only two 10mm, which happens to be my favorite round by far, just because there aren't many 10mm solutions on the market. One is a G20, and the other one an all-steel Tanfoglio, so glad to see them on your list sir :-) By the way, I found the Henning's Group guiderod for Tanfoglio a great replacement for the factory one, specially if using hot loads, because the way it sits on the frame. I was leaning towards the Glock for these reasons: lighter in weight, less expensive, I could use it now with a 10 round magazine and get the 15 round since I will be moving to a free state. JG Harts Get the RI if you want a cool yet functional gun. Get the Glock if you want a tool.

JG Harts there are several 1911 style 10mm and the sig P220 that can hold more rounds. They are smother and more accurate. I have all of these guns and a couple more like the STI and DW Bruin. Definitely stay away from polymer guns in 10mm, they will wear out quickly and don't shoot as well, hence the price. I love polymer guns just not when shooting heavy barrel burning rounds.

My Gen 4 G20 has had zero problems after about 200 rounds of various ammunition. The thing is great. I would look at the 29 Gen 4 too though. Just get a 10mm though, whatever it is. :)

Yes, I had the chance to run a few magazines through one a while back. Other than it being just a tad more nose heavy than the Razorback, I couldn't really tell much difference. To me, they seem to shoot about the same.

I have a EAA combat sport and really enjoy shooting it. The recoil is less than my 45acp. even when shooting hot ammo,and the reset is crazy fast. I have that RIA 1911 and I love it. But I don't love trying to conceal it (while hiking) with that large magwell poking out. Have you seen any other options for a more flush mounted version? Great video. I love my Dan Wesson 10mm Bruin, and I think it's even better than the razorback. Dan Wesson also has a new for 2017 10mm that looks amazing and is basically a Bruin inside. I highly recommend the 1911 6" style of 10mm. They are so smooth and accurate I really have no need for the 45s anymore unless shooting suppressed.

Very nice video! I just bought the new Ruger Sr 1911 in 10 milli. Can't wait to shoot it. My dad lives right down the road from the CZ Dan Wesson factory in Norwich, Ny. Knows people who work there. I'm thinking I'm going to pay them a visit soon. Be pretty cool to check the place out.

You did not include the Wilson Combat CQB Elite and the STI Perfect 10 - two of Ted Nugent's favorite 10mm pistols. Ted is a big 10mm fan. I really like the looks of the Rock Island FS-HC, and You give the Dan Wesson Razorback top marks. Very nice, polished review. Thank You for sharing.

Nice collection of Tens ! My friend has a Sig P220 10mm that shoots great; it's a good looking pistol with rosewood grips. I have a Glock 20 and 40MOS that I like pretty well. Would like to own an STI 10mm like Uncle Ted's !

My fist 10mm was the Dan Wesson Razorback. Now I own 3 10mm pistols, a Mechtech CCU to make one of the pistols a carbine, and a TNW carbine. You could say I like 10mm. I also reload them. Unfortunately I am one of those people with small hands, I don't like Glocks.

I love my glock 20 also my SW 610 I hunt with both but the Sw also fires 40 cal. making it just a little cheaper to shoot

I'm a 10mm type of guy and yes 'dem "eggernomicks" are very important. My hands are on the medium to small size and I didnt get into glock 20s until the sf model, thank God for sf eggernomicks.

Another vote for the Sig 220. I have the Glock 20, 29, and 40. The steel frame of the Sig handles the round much better than any of the other three.

Glock 40 owner here and someday want the Razorback. I shot one from a friendly neighbor at the range as a relative gun novice. Three months later I got my third firearm my g40 and I've not looked back. 10mm is great and as an avid fisherman its awesome to have should i run into a bear while fishing in the fall.

Yes, this video was uploaded before Ruger released their SR1911 10mm. The more I shoot the Ruger, the more I'm impressed with it.

These are all reliable. Most accurate would mostly depend on the skill level of the shooter. Out of the 10mm's featured in this video, the Iver Johnson seems to have the less felt recoil.

i love the idea of the cz75 but dont like it in practice because of the inside the frame rail you get so little space to grab the rear of the slide

I know in a video about best-of 10mms this is kind of a skewed question. Still, because I respect you and your opinions, I have to ask you this: I've been leaning for a long time toward a G26 an a pocket holster. However, as I'm looking around, I see the G29 as an IWB gun even though that's not ideal for me. If you had to chose, would you go with a G26 9mm in the pocket or a G29 IWB that may be less comfortable, what would you do?

To answer you honestly, I got rid of all my smaller Glocks a long time ago. I personally carry a Dan Wesson Valor V-Bob.
