I agree 100% I was forced to watch Christmas Story at the age of twelve and didn’t like it at all. Yes Die Hard is a Christmas film just like Batman Returns, Trading Places, and Edward Scissorhands. I always preferred Home Alone 2 over the first film. My list in no particular order would have: 1. It Happened on Fifth Avenue, 2. Scrooge (1970), 3. It’s a Wonderful Life, 4. Ernest Saves Christmas, 5. Santa Claus is Comin to Town, 6. Miracle on 34th Street, 7. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966 film), 8. Muppet Family Christmas, 9. Polar Express which my entire fifth grade class went to see in theaters, 10. Anna and the Apocalypse, 11. Gremlins, and 12. Joyeux Noel My honorable mentions would be The Small One and Winnie the Pooh and Christmas Too. I hope you have a great holiday season Sean, thank you for all of the great content.

The way you feel about A Christmas Story is the same way I feel about It’s a Wonderful Life.

Most of these wouldn't make my list lol. Mostly because I either thought they were dumb or too sad. Also, I believe Kevin's family decided to go to France for Christmas because one of his uncles lives there (I think it's the same uncle who owned the run-down place in Lost in NY). So yeah I don't blame them for going overseas for the Holidays if it's to spend time with family lol. That bit in White Christmas is very cool about when the 2 guys dress up as those sisters, I love it lol. That movie WOULD make my fav Christmas movie list. Now my fav Christmas special of all time is The Muppets Family Christmas. It's just so wholesome and funny and I had one of my first fangasms watching it when Sesame Street and Fraggle Rock chars appeared, and then the big man himself Jim Henson appearing. If I did do a list I would include tv specials and movies. Like one underrated classic for me is David Copperfield, an animated tv movie that has anthropomorphic animals. It's based off of a book by Charles Dickens (same person who wrote A Christmas Carol). Now my fav Christmas Story of all time is the original Nutcracker and the Mouse King by E.T.A Hoffman. Heaven knows how many adaptations that book haves from Tchaikovsky's ballet to other animated features. Heck, even the ballet has a good number of different adaptations, depending on the country and company. I will say my fav adaptation is the one that is the most faithful to the book, it's Tagalong's cartoon episode The Nutcracker.

Of all places, Paris, France isn’t quite a place you’d spend Christmas. Family or otherwise. But that’s just me.

Polar Express and Home Alone 1 & 2 are some of my favorite movies to watch around this month, for all the reasons you mentioned. Not sure which movies I’d have for my list, but I’d definitely include what I’d say is Tim Burton’s Christmas trilogy (Edward Scissorhands, Batman Returns & Nightmare Before Christmas)

Some of them are still alive. Unless you’re referring to the black and white films. Be more specific, will ya.
