I admired Flynn since I was a kid with the old adage the good always win against evil the man was at the right time in Hollywood in it it's golden era of making good films for the viewing public such films are the mold of what Hollywood today needs to heed as a good film. Those were the days my friend we thought would never end. Good video of Flynn and by gone era of Hollywood the home of the stars.

One of Flynn’s invisible co-stars who starred in Flynn’s best movies, was the movie scores of Eric Wolfgang Korngold.

From one Flynn fan to another: excellent job! You know your stuff, man! (Although I personally would have left off “Virginia City” and “Dive Bomber.”) His fine performances in “Uncertain Glory” and “That Forsyte Woman” should be on anyone’s list. Flynn deserved a Best Actor Oscar nomination for “The Adventures of Robin Hood.” He also should have been nominated as Best Supporting Actor for “The Sun Also Rises” and “Too Much, Too Soon.”

Virginia City is a weird choice. I did enjoy Dive Bomber though. Historical movie.

I agree with your great narration about Errol Flynn, I'm so desperate to see a great aero Flynn film that I keep looking for his son's version the The son of CaptainBlood made in the 1960s before his disappearance thank you for this wonderful film about Errol Flynn. 5:13

I was around 6 years old when i saw one of his movies, with my brother, & father, whom liked his movies. And i fell for him. Did not know what love was about. But he was for me. I have most of his movies, & i still think his handsome.

I can still watch every one of these films, but it's the "Gary Owen" scene in "They Died With Their Boots On" that always give me goosebumps! "Men die, but a Regiment lives on." Indeed.

There is one film by flynn that has been lost to time and there was something about it that captured me , I think it's because it took me back to early flynn westerns and that was rocky mountain

For a reviewer of Flynn’s movies you should have known that “Dive Bomber” was about the developing of the belt, later suit, that restricted blood flow during a dive, (not shown in your clip) and the high pressure suit used to prevent hypoxia, (shown in your clip)

Edge of Darkness and Gentleman Jim need to be on the list. They are two of his best. Especially Edge of Darkness. You can remove Don Juan and Dive Bomber.

Wonderful compilation, but I am a trifle disappointed that Objective, Burma! is not part of the list. That film is one of Flynn's better performances. I think Flynn was an underrated actor, owing largely to the fact that his swashbuckling image denied him better opportunity to showcase his acting skills.
@davidrudolph28259 ай бұрын
He was a class act, but just couldn't stay away from alcohol.

I can see your focus is on Flynn’s acting and not necessarily his most enjoyable (to audiences) films. Robin Hood and Edge of Darkness are probably my favourites although I enjoyed him in The Sun Also Rises and Don Juan is also good.

For me 1) Don Juan 2) Robin Hood 3) Gentlenan Jim. 4) Charge of the Light Brigade 5) Dawn Patrol.

What a great list and agree One Hundred Percent with Number One. The best Robin Hood adaptation, with the only other good ones I have seen in my book being The 1973 Disney film, The Zany Adventures of Robin Hood, and Men in Tights. The Story of Robin Hood and His Merrie Men by Disney in the 50’s felt too much like it was wanting to copy The 1938 film, to me at least.
@Zodia1959 ай бұрын
Hey Sean, have you ever seen the Goonies? In the movie, one of the chars is watching Captain Blood, and I can't help but wonder if the 'pirate aspect' of the Goonies was inspired by that movie. It wouldn't surprise me at least. Also, one of my fav movies is Robin Hood: Men in Tights and while I know a lot of Prince of Thieves was referenced in that movie, I also think the Adventures of Robin Hood influenced the movie too, like the famous fight scene with the 'shadow fight part' and other things of course. Adventures of Robin Hood is definitely one of my fav movies of all time. No surprise it got #1 lol.

Flynn was great. OMG, Charge of the Light Brigade is awful from a historical perspective. Flynn and Niven are great but the whole lead up in India. The transplanting of the Indian villain into the ranks of the Russian artillery at Balaclava... uggh! Dawn Patrol is one of my personal favourites. I also liked Objective Burma.
