I was around 6 years old when i saw one of his movies, with my brother, & father, whom liked his movies. And i fell for him. Did not know what love was about. But he was for me. I have most of his movies, & i still think his handsome.

Thank you so much for this. This made my day! On the money in every way, historically, sentimentally, and technically well done. I agree on every point. And thank you, because I never saw "The Clock" and will watch it today. You see, I'm old enough to have had my exposure to Judy in the "Babes in Arms"/ Andy Rooney days. I'd seen those films on "Million Dollar Movie" before I saw "OZ" when it first aired on TV.....my parents 18" black and white. I was 7, and the flying moneys kept me up night for weeks! Then, 10 years later, I saw a re-release in the Village and was blown away by the sepia-technicolor morph. My daughter was 2 on the 50th Anniversary...we showed it to her and for the next year, OZ was the focal point of our entertainment. Macy's put on a big thing, The Museum of the Moving Image, OZ was everywhere, at least in my world. Many years later, my grandchildren still watch in awe. Kudos for the comment on the black face deal. I'm old enough to have been around when civil rights were evolving, and wise enough to know that you can't make something retroactively "racist" (an over and misused word). Hope to see more of your productions. If I only had a brain!

Elizabeth Hartman was cast as Joe Don Baker's wife in Walking Tall(1973). There's a disturbing scene where a stray bullet hits her head! Remade in Hong Kong as The Price of Love(1970) starring Chin Ping.

I also fell in love with Judy when I was only in third grade when I saw the wizard of oz. Have loved her to the present day. Thanks for this. I hadn’t even ever heard of some of these movies.

From one Flynn fan to another: excellent job! You know your stuff, man! (Although I personally would have left off “Virginia City” and “Dive Bomber.”) His fine performances in “Uncertain Glory” and “That Forsyte Woman” should be on anyone’s list. Flynn deserved a Best Actor Oscar nomination for “The Adventures of Robin Hood.” He also should have been nominated as Best Supporting Actor for “The Sun Also Rises” and “Too Much, Too Soon.”

For a reviewer of Flynn’s movies you should have known that “Dive Bomber” was about the developing of the belt, later suit, that restricted blood flow during a dive, (not shown in your clip) and the high pressure suit used to prevent hypoxia, (shown in your clip)

I can see your focus is on Flynn’s acting and not necessarily his most enjoyable (to audiences) films. Robin Hood and Edge of Darkness are probably my favourites although I enjoyed him in The Sun Also Rises and Don Juan is also good.

I agree with you about the love and excitement Judy would have felt for the "new" directors of the 1970s. Imagine Judy working with DiPalma in "Carrie" as Margaret White. She would have been 52 y/o, and not only would she have been nominated for an Oscar as Piper Laurie was, but that would have finally won her that elusive Oscar! Judy could have played Mrs. Kitner in "Jaws". Judy in any of the new modern blockbusters would have been epic to see!

This is one of my all time favorite movies! I watched an interview of Sean Connery talking about this movie. He recommended Albert Sharp to star in this movie. At one point he teared up as he said Albert was down on his luck pensioner and he felt sorry for him. You could tell Sean dearly cared for Albert.
