Have you checked out "Caves of Lore" and "Stellar Tactics", both made by single developers and both getting way less attention than they deserve!!! Both are turn based RPGs.

No information about the release on pc yet. But for other consoles the game will be released at March 8th

PC is unlikely in the short term due to: 1. Vanillaware is a small company and most of their staff are artists, they don't actually have that many engineers/programmers 2. PC development is a lot more complicated because of the infinite hardware combination possibilities, which becomes an issue when you are a small company 3. Consoles are the most popular gaming format in Japan. Some of it may be cultural, but I think a lot of it may just be practical concerns, Japanese apartments/houses are usually quite small, in most houses it's unlikely that they can dedicate a room for a bulky PC setup. Meanwhile consoles can be easily packed away when not in use or they are small and portable like the Switch. 4. Vanillaware is a passion project type company, they're not really a mass market "let's try to appeal to everyone" type company. Which means that when their game finds the right audience, it's always a hit with that specific audience. But quite often people outside of their target audience are not interested. maybe if there's a passionate enough PC gamer in their staff it might get a PC release

These look terrible. France 44 has potential but I don't want switch graphics on my series x. The best turn base rpgs to play are hbs battletech, gears tactics, halo wars 1 and 2, and wasteland 3.

you know there is separate mode right. gacha mode and normal story mode without gacha. kinda like warzone. heck they even promised us 60 hour gameplay for story mode on release day.

Gamers nowadays think you have to be a number one in any games thus if a game offers additional paying to win or further the cause then it is bad. Even though you can just like me play the game and have fun. like what video games are supposed to do. Plus gacha game more popular in third world countries, why because it's free. It is more accessible to a lot of people. Also the majority of gacha games are on smart phones, why because kids from poor families have a bigger chance to buy a decent smartphone (ofc not iphone) than a decent pc.

@@faisaladitya6165 I wouldn't bother playing a game where the designers have a financial incentive for it to be less enjoyable if I don't give them money as I play, even if I can potentially do it completely free. It isn't just about being number one, but the impact on progression pacing, reward delivery, and general presentation. All of these things are likely to be negatively affected by the presence of a gacha system. You can create free to play games that don't require the introduction of pseudo-gambling mechanics, especially if you are making something kids will play.

@@FBNL but you already assumed what the game economy and progression would be predatory from the get go. If the game already released and the gacha mechanic disturbed the as you would say progression of the game then sure you can hate it. Heck i will personally quit the game as well, and as you said game company can also make a gacha game with in-game transaction without being predatory. So just wait and see. Plus i play several gacha games and i completed all content of the game without ever actually paying since i dont have any money (still a student) granted i rarely play gacha game in competitive manner ie rarely participate in pvp content.
