I hoped the She-Hulk in the thumbnail was just trolling, but it seems not. I watched maybe two episodes, that was even too much. The main character was annoying as hell. I never really make list like this, this year probably would include lots of anime and animated shows, but not too many "real-life shows". Without rankings, some examples are Chainsaw Man, Lycoris Recoil, Spy x Family, Reincarnated as a Sword, Skeleton Knight in Another World, Sandman, Wednesday, Legends of Vox Machina, His Dark Materials, Cyberpunk Edgerunners, Classroom of the Elite, Dota Dragon's Blood, The Boys, Helluva Boss. (There is a small chance, something wasn't in 2022). To be honest haven't seen most of the shows on your list, like 2/3 of it at least.

I'm glad you talked about Reservation Dogs. It's a great show about indigenous people with indigenous actors. The scenes with/about Daniel were emotional. I wish more people talk about it as my sister is the only one I know who seen it

I usually agree with your opinions on shows and movies (both of which I would love to see you talk more about outside of RWBY) but I disagree with like 60% of this list. Of course that’s ok, people have different opinions on just about everything but, having seen every show on the list, I don’t see how things like she hulk could possibly be ranked above even the other 2 marvel shows that didn’t even make the list. Moon knight has an absolutely stellar first episode that sets up and explores Steven in an interesting and intriguing way while also setting up plenty of mysteries to be solved later in the season. It also has one of my favorite marvel tv action sequences with the car chase. Episodes 2 and 3 are meh at best and struggle with the change to a clearly less competent writer and episode four and five would be the same if not for the genuinely interesting mummies and the final episode being significantly worse than anything even in she hulk, but episode four was pretty good and the acting throughout was fantastic. Ms marvel was ultimately meh but it was at least fun and decently well written. It also gets a plus for the directing. She hulk has one interesting episode and the rest are un funny wastes of time… for the most part there are some jokes that made me laugh… although I’m not sure how many of them were intended. The court drama was either completely nonexistent or more unrealistic than the cg. The writers even admitted to not knowing how to write court scenes… that’s fine in a show that isn’t meant to be a lawyer show. The writing feels much more at home when Jen is hulking out and fighting crime but even then it’s flawed. What is Jen’s main character flaw? What does she do wrong or struggle with that affects the plot in any way? Is she too dismissive of banner’s help? It seems like it but in the end she is just proven right. Does she struggle in court? Nah everyone but the evil white men agree with her from the start. That leads to another issue, the writers don’t know how to write men? Instead of making them like characters they just throw on one of two stereotypes and call it a day. Either they are woman hating asses that go out of their way to tear the main characters down even when it just ends up hurting them, or they have the personality of the gay best friend stereotype. They aren’t characters they are just incompetent asshats that exist purely to be made fun of or saved by the main female characters. That is like the exact issue I have with the way some real life incompetent men write women. This is literally just dumb blonds stuck up bitches and damsels in distress for men. I thought we would have move past these sexist stereotypes by now but I guess instead of progressing forward we are just going back down a different hill. I’m not a neckbeard basement dwelling no life who hates the show because “strong woman” I don’t like the show because it is a poorly planned and badly written mess that takes out every ounce of nuance and complexity from the fantastic she hulk comics, only to replace it with poorly written men and bad cgi

No Spectacular Spider-Man. Big sad. 😢 Onto serious stuff, I too loved Younger Rhanerya more than Old Rhanerya. But, I loved the new characters when they also got older. Aemond is my favorite of the old kids. Daemon is just a delight on screen. Vox Machina is really fun and I can’t wait for Season 2! Wholly agree with the Peacemaker pick! My only gripe with it is that I think they drag a couple jokes out too long, but those moments are few and far between

This is such a nice change of pace from your RWBY content. I'm glad someone else also thinks Solar Opposites is leaps and bounds better than Rick and Morty. In fact, I just remembered Rick and Morty had a 6th season air that I wasn't aware of. Lol If I had a list, it wouldn't be too big. But I'd make sure Chucky season 2 and Sonic Prime were somewhere on it.

Funny, I thought the first episode of She-Hulk was the only good one. Setup an interesting story which the writers seemingly decided to ignore in favour of purposely making a bad show which they can then make fun of at the end. All interlaced with poor legal drama and unnecessary filler.

sadly i have only seen 2 of theses shows (even if you include the honorable mentions). Sadly just don't have time or access to watch theses shows, but has been nice to here something positive about some of them. Did have to stop video when you said you not read the sandman comics but makes sense and feel thats the best way and shows your not fanning over (or hating) the show just cos "oh my gwad! they made it into a tv show" . But i would recommend reading the comics at some point (maybe on that free day you have in 2034 XD), and/or listing to the series on Audible (no sponsored). overall good list and maybe ill get a chance to watch some more shows from it (fingers crossed)

Personally my favourite shows of 2022 were -prehistoric planet - the cuphead show -super giant robot brothers -the smiling friends -bee and puppycat lazy in space -don’t hug me I’m scared the series -sonic prime and -transformers earthspark also happy new year everyone 2022 was definitely a very mixed bag of a year for me it had its good moments and it’s bad moments but hey at least it wasn’t like 2020 where the bad moments hit each and everyone of us so here’s to 2023!

Yay! Someone else who likes Only Murders. I was hesitant going into this series, but the characters and their friendship has made me really love them. 2nd season really hits its stride and I hope the 3rd one is either the same or even better. I was on the fence with Peacemaker but I think I’ll give it a try, as a DC fan. Also, how can you afford all those different streaming services?? There are so many shows I’d love to watch but can’t afford it 😂. Had to use trials for Hulu and HBOmax to just binge like as fast as possible.

Apparently helluva boss counts, take off Elvis and put helluva boss there. Not all of these are shows but if it was shows with the 2022 limit I was not going to even make it to 8. Also kaleidoscope was so close to being put on this list until I saw it was 2023 and that made me sad. I have weird taste I am sorry but these were the shows I watched and rewatched and went crazy about and just fell in love with.

Definitely have to hard disagree on the quality of She-Hulk and Rings of Power. The former was an annoying, meandering mess and the latter spat in the face of Tolkien’s world and had some legitimately bad writing. I definitely did enjoy Vox Machina, though. It definitely makes my top ten alongside shows like The Boys and Overlord IV.

Out of curiosity, what was the worst show you watched this year? So fucking happy to see Severance break number 1 on a list. Feels like it did not get nearly as much notice as it should have. And Our Flag Means Death. Blew me away. I must have the most batshit opinion about She-hulk. I did not like it at all, but it kept me interested enough to watch it fully unlike a few other Disney + shows. It struggled to feel funny, but I somehow overlooked the CGI which everyone comments on, finding it satisfactory (Kinda feels strange since I took a degree in animation and digital graphics so that SHOULD have been what bothered me). What a show, I guess?

An animated show of 2022 i wanna recommend is Pantheon. Pantheon is made by the same studio as Invincible (which might explain why the new season only recently started development). I highly recommend going into this show knowing nothing, but if you want a premise: . . . . . . PREMISE SPOILERS: Its about the development of integrating the human mind into computer, with the utility of this being endless (faster work time, creating and doing anything you want in a virtual world, transferring you "soul" from a dying human body to a semi-immortal data cloud, it is everything people want AI to be but without the needed tedious evolutionary education because the human already carries the knowledge they already have). While the idea seemed amazing and constructive, other companies and governments got ahold of this and it evolved into weapons. People turned into computers solely to launch cyber-attacks on different countries and became an all-out cyber war. Meanwhile many of the people turned into computers now believed themselves to be the new gods, thus the name "Pantheon" The show follows 3 people whos lives were changed due to this invention and their recounts of "the last days of humanity" The writing is very well done, Every episode is well paced and leaving me on the edge of my seat. It plays heavily on the concept as what counts as a human or a person, what are the ethics of wielding power, our reliance on electronics and the internet, and follows realistically how people would react to this revolutionary technology. Most of the show takes place in Palo Alto, which is like the center of the Silicon Valley, and it shows how much the writers studied programming and computer technology. The first episode has a conversation about solving a networking code problem in a form of a riddle, which i found enlightening.

There were a lot of shows I loved this year (Peacemaker, The Boys S3, Severance) but I’ll say it was Andor was my favorite show and probably my favorite Star Wars show I had like -1 expectations but it blew me away with its writing, acting, directing, etc. (I’m happy you liked Obi Wan though!)

It’s nice to hear even a little positivity about she hulk. I didn’t find it as bad as other people tbh lmao. I didn’t see most of the shows on this list mostly because I’m more into anime. I can’t even pick my favorite anime I watched this year. There’s cyberpunk edgerunners and there’s also jojo part 6, and that’s only two of the amazing shows I’ve seen. The only one I did saw on Netflix was Wednesday and despite its flaws, I’ve enjoyed it a lot. That’s all that really matters to me, my own personal enjoyment

Lol yeah, I thought Andor was incredibly boring. There wasn't a single original thought or creative aspect with the whole world, story, or characters. A bland basic half-hearted attempt at a cash grab to ride off of the Mandelorian's success. But I'm also a grown adult who understands the idea that not everyone in the world has the same thoughts and opinions as me :) Glad you enjoyed it.
