Tho San is a late dance learner but his facial expressions are just so good since the performance videos!!! Don’t know how have he became that good in like less than a year but comparing the dance vid in mixnine audition he has improved extremely well AND WE HAVEN’T DISCUSSED ABOUT HIS BALANCE HIS POWER HIS BODY CONTROL HIS TECHNIQUES yet!!! San and Hongjoong’s facials, along with the rest of Ateez, are really one of the main things that make them stand out. Even when I was first getting into them, the faces they make, although criticized A LOT for no reason, were quite refreshing and added a new flavor and level to performances in the kpop industry. Ateez as a whole go full out when it comes to performing and I really appreciate them going further than just hitting their marks when it comes to being an idol!

I become so speechless that some people tend to criticise San's intensity and dedication to his choreography. When you watch Ateez perform you do not only watch the performance but you FEEL it too. Ateez's passion along with their facial expressions are one of the many factors that accumulate a lot of audience's attention. San simply highlights these components further when he takes on key points of the song. He enjoys what he does and it shows. Being immersed equals being authentic to his craft along to the emotions of the song he is trying to convey. I try my best not to focus on the haters because as an admirer of San's abilities, I want to put my energy on appreciating him rather than rambling on a minority. But since Ateez took notice even San, I started to become very worried. I could not help but be completely baffled that there are haters to such authenticity and diligence, critique of course, but HATE? What are you hating? What is there to hate? Hardwork, the passion, the teamwork, the dedication? It's so ridiculous to me. Edit : I am sorry but we cannot argue on this one here, no one does it like San. Truly, the man that will raise the standard of kpop performance, the man who is art in motion! Watch his inception fancam and you will get it.

Performing goes beyond just being a good dancer and san is such a great example of such a notion, as well as all Ateez. Very unfortunate that people are hating on of one the most appealing and distinguish aspect that Ateez possesses.

@@SonaTalks. thank you! Different dances/songs require a different focus on different aspects of dancing. The thing that I absolutely admire about san is that they way he finishes/ completes every movement while keeping it fluid, stable and strong. He fulfills every criteria and to top that he has incredible facial expressions??!!! I am 100% sure there is room for improvement, because everyone can improve, and he works so diligently to do so. He once mentioned that he writes down every little detail and observation he might think need improvement of him, that dedicated he is to his craft! But I mean the boy could not dance before being a trainee and while being even. But look at him now, wow. I have never ever been in my life so moved by someone's dancing, truly. His golden disc solo intro performance brought me to tears!

I feel like it's a crime that this came out before inception and they didn't get to see/reference his incredibly emotional facials in that performance for this video. He is known for his demonic dance but still he manages to successfully deliever/transfer the same "hard" energy he possesses in stages like Illusion and Inception, songs completely different than wonderland and hala hala. But I know what you mean, the last part in Inception of San completely and absolutely breaks me! How expressive and artistic he is, is beyond me, wow!

You're definitely a dancer by how you picked this list not like some people who try to list without being a dancer. I agree with all these top 15 they are all the idols that I may not be a fan of all of them, but I can't help but stare at them throughout their whole performances not just when the camera is on them. I remember always watching Hyuna in particular because she commanded the stage so well with her presence and facials. U-kwon aswell won one the 1st ep of the dancing idol competition because of his facials mainly cuz all the competitors were all great dancers but he really managed to encompass the emotions through his face, I remember that was the first time I saw him dance. San aswell really impressed me the first time I saw him, like hes such a delight to watch like I feel like I could understand the song from watching his facial expressions only, I didnt know he was a rookie the first time I randomly came across his fancam and I can't wait to see his future performances since he hasn't been an idol for even 2 years yet.

Yes Hwanwoong has some of the best facial expressions I've ever seen in an idol! He really conveys the feeling, but also the lyrics of the song so well! He almost always mouths the words as he's dancing to Korean songs, which means he would have studied the lyrics to know what each phrase is about. i remember the first time i saw ateez, I was immediately caught by san's expressive dancing in the answer music video. and as I got to know a little bit more about ateez through what people had to say about them, i noticed that a lot of people mentioned that san dances as if he was possessed with his crazy facial expressions. so then i decided to watch a wonderland fancam since answer was more on the "lowkey" side. san absolutely blew my mind with his facial expressions and movements and i've never seen anyone dance like him before. the way his face tells the story behind the music through his body and facial movements is incredible. and then i decided to watch hala hala and the way my jaw dropped when he did that insane dance break at the end. san really sets the standard for stage presence. all of ateez are powerful powerful performers and they really deserve as much recognition they can get with their talents. hongjoong's energy especially goes through the roof. im really proud hongjoong and san made it on this list along with their senior u-kwon.

TRUE. Hongjoong definitely doesn’t only centres his facial expressions on his eyes and eyebrows only. His tongue is always wild, he bangs his head sometimes, he even crack his neck and shoulders, he smirks, gave out enough sassiness and swag, he changes his expressions in just a split second. All in all he always uses every parts of his body when performing, and he suited any kind of concept too. Yes he deserves to be in this list and i do believes he deserves to be ranked higher together with San.
