Selling price being low doesn't mean that is the actual value of a doll . i bought a doll off Ebay (Franklin Mint vinyl portrait doll of 1st lady Michelle Obama) that cost me less than 3.00 nude but if you bought it in it's box with it's original outfit , you wouldn't find it for less than 350.00 i still haven't found the original dress for sale but did buy both of the spare outfits that were sold separately at their full value costs . .

So…. started the collection as a child in the 1990s, and the joke is: almost every NFRB/MIB doll from that era has not had any increase in value! 😂😂😂 The priciest dolls are the vintage 1960s dolls I could finally afford with my adult money. Most of the collection is play-line; as of yet there are no silkstone dolls.

Really cool collection, the faraway forest elf has been on my dream wishlist since I got back into dolls a couple years ago. That and the "haunted beauty mistress of the manor" doll. The first doll I collected as an adult was the WWE Superstars Naomi. I rerooted and rebodied her and consider her to be my favorite of all of the dolls that I own. She has the biggest smile I’ve ever seen on a doll. I recently looked online to get another. The cheapest (and only) one I found new in box was $300. Used, she’s about a tenth of that price.

About The Barbie Look doll. She's the only one I have, I bought her not long after she was released and she was already going up in price (I paid about 75€ for her) but I thought she was so beatiful that I didn't mind spending that money for her (I'm not a collector, just an appreciator). I was just looking for her a couple of weeks ago out of curiosity to see if she was still around and I was shocked about the prices they sell her for. And I thought that now I could (if I wanted) sell her for almost a month worth of my salary (I saw someone sellingher even at 800€!). Obviously I looked at her on my shelf and just knew it wouldn't happen, I like her so much head to toe, her face mold, her fashion style, all of it. At that time I was undecided between her and the boho chic but that modern city look and the Karl mold got the best of me. I'm happy to have her, she's a favorite of mine still now. I prefer modern Barbies, the Looks line and @BarbieStyle line are my favoritesright now

Beautiful collection. I really love silkstone Barbies. One of my most favorite line. I got my very first one over month ago. I was floored to see how heavy she is…and it reminded me of my first Barbie’s back in early 60’s. I decided to start on collecting them. My goal is to buy one silk stone Barbie’s every 2 months. I would love to get at least 6 of them by end of this year. I don’t collect other different dolls…only with vintage look Barbie’s. It just too nostalgic to have them that reminded of my childhood.

My one and only grandchild, my granddaughter has just come to live with me, she is a very young adult and has never seen all the dolls I collected with her in mind. It was very cheap, but the shipping costs are extremly high. The Hollywood Hair Teresa costs 185$ and the Totally Hair Barbie (still waiting for her) costs 135$. I also found offers e.g. from Europe among 600€...😮

None of mine are worth quite that much but I have some very prized dolls in my collection that I wouldn't be able to get today. I have the 2011 couture angel and the 2006 Barbie collector golden angel. I have the 2006 tooth fairy in the white dress. I got all of those when they were in stores. And I recently got the 2004 Barbie Fairytopia Enchantress doll for about $12 at a second hand store still in her box. None of them are astronomical prices, but definitely above my doll budget for a single doll. And very much loved.

I really wish that a website would exist shows the approximate prices for dolls in the USA , Europe and other continents. Not sure but my most expensive doll could be Synergy from Integrity Toys , maybe the Mayhem in Monte Carlo Poppy Parker or Video Montgomery also of Integrity Toys ... back in the days was all just arround 100 - 150 Euro , the prices at ebay are now insane and I don't trust them. Not sure about my Barbies , because I got many signature doll heads now on made to move bodies.

When I see prices like that, I tell myself I will learn to customize dolls. I also need to learn to make dresses 👗 like those. When I was a kid I was not bad with that craft. I am slowly gathering my materials and watching tutorials. But I would never buy expensive dolls like that, the only signature line I would buy is Barbie looks line because it is affordable. I don’t care about the box, I care about doll herself and outfit, and I am not attached to certain dolls. I watched custom doll videos, and I saw people make beautiful dolls, of course I am just a beginner, and would not go that far, but still want to start something. Oh, I didn't know Magical Hair Mermaid was such a rare doll. I find her second hand (very bad state, I must say) usually in vinted for a really cheap price. Saw the 'Preferably Pink' girl on Ebay and sent you a link on Insta 😊 I remember seeing the Barbie Look girls on Amazon, back in the day, but wasn't into collecting them then. If only I had! There was a toy report recently (I think it was called Marketplace?), it was just a sample report as the real one is for the industry and thus cost £1000's, but it said briefly that dolls and doll collecting is only gonna get bigger between now and 2030! I think this could be really good news for collectors and maybe they'll all 'up their game', if the competition is going to get fierce.
