He can slow down time, bifrost powers and read intentions, so after the spear blows up the first time, he'd know to never catch it again, but instead due to plot story needing to move on he lost due to the writers same way the flash would never lose a fight but writers gotta continue the plot.

I personally would put Heimdall and Baldur behind Freya and Athena. Freya and Athena are the most powerful Goddesses of their Pantheons. So powerful that even the God Kings (Odin and Zeus) have fears and insecurities about their existence. Zeus tried to prevent Athena from being born and Odin had to trick and manipulate Freya into having her powers bound. Freya is definitely in the Top 3 most powerful of the Norse Gods in the GoW games. Athena, probably the Top 5 of Greek GoW Gods. I'm not too smart on mythology, but I think Athena was always more of a diplomatic, smarter, less hot headed counterpart of Ares. I'm not really sure how she compares to Hades or Poseidon tbh. For me the Top 5 overall is #1 - Kratos (Power of Hope) #2 - Thanatos #3 - Zeus #4 - Odin #5 - Tie between Freya, Athena, Thor, Poseidon, Ares and Hades. If those 6 fought, it really could go either way. Ares, Thor and Hades are really strength, power and durability based, and Freya, Athena and Poseidon are very Speed, Agility, Stamina and IQ/Battle IQ based. And I think Thanatos is very powerful cuz it took a near Prime Kratos to be in an unimaginably enraged state to kill him, far angrier than he was when fighting Zeus or Odin.

Athena is arguable, but she doesn't have enough feats to really back her up, plus she herself states that the big 3 are significantly stronger than the other Gods, including her. As for Freya, she's strong and versatile, but I don't think she could do much against Thor due to how durable he is, and I think she has even less of a chance against Poseidon and Hades, since she isn't resistant to Poseidons lightning like Kratos is, and I don't think she could stop Hades from stealing her soul nor could she put him down. Ares is much weaker than the big 3, but is probably relative to Athena and Freya, although he's much more durable, his armor couldn't be pierced by the Blades of Chaos, it's why Kratos used his own blade legs against him, and the Blade of the Gods was there specifically so Kratos could kill Ares. As for Thanatos, he fought a significantly weaker Kratos than everyone here besides Ares, so he's not nearly as strong as people think he is, he's probably still stronger than Ares, Athena, and Freya though.

If Odin and Thor were so powerful, why didn't they just take Vaneheim without trickery? And why bind her powers if she isn't a threat? It seems like they were afraid of something. Maybe it was that she was the only other being out there that could possibly pose a threat? I'm guessing none of the other Norse Gods were as powerful as her, so Odin didn't want to take any chances?

@@tristan4487 She wasn't tricked into marrying Odin at first remember, Odin actually was interested at first, him binding her powers though was just him doing the most cruel thing he thought possible, Mimir actually mentions at some point that he did it to spite her because she wouldn't make him like Baldur, he didn't do it because he was scared, in the game he fights her, Atreus, and Kratos and puts up a good fight, if she was much stronger than him she would have beaten him without the others and he would have stood no chance. As for Thor, he actually straight up killed Kratos in the first fight, he was holding back yes, but he was holding back even more so against Freya and in all her attempts she could not kill him. Even when she ambushed him again right after he reunited with his son she couldn't kill him, she got closer though since he was surprised that it was her at the end of the fight. She's definitely the strongest female Norse God, but she ain't the strongest in general.

Odin is stronger than sisters of fate, he not only has a giant arsenal of spells, but also is actually much much stronger in just strength than kratos despite his frail appearance, being able to casually lift Thor’s hammer (can’t spell the name) with one hand while kratos with two could barely move it, and in Norse mythology it’s not the pure of heart thing like in marvel, it’s literally just heavy as hell, and we can assume the same it in the game, along with that it took kratos, Freya and Loki to beat him Freya being kinda slept on with how strong she is, I don’t think Odin is stronger than prime kratos but I would say he’s stronger than end of GOWR kratos

That’s way too high imo. Even if most of the characters can’t hit him(without a legendary forged weapon), he doesn’t have the power or strength of many of them either. For example, Baldur can’t be killed and is far stronger. Kratos was only able to temporarily knock out Baldur, and Heimdall is far weaker than Kratos. Hades is immortal and can only be defeated by having his own soul taken away. And this is just speculation but Hades has many necromancy abilities so he could have the ability to overwhelm Heimdall’s senses with that. Who says it only has to be a weapon? My point remains that I think a Heimdall is overrated. Not a weak character by any means, I just don’t think he has a chance of beating anyone in the top 10 really.

Wym? Heimdall is an extremely powerful god. Try fighting him without using the spear u will literally never hit him. Also Thanatos got smashed by a rageful and angry kratos when he was weaker in the ghost of Sparta when the only thing he had was his blades of Olympus . If we not consider how much slow time is shown in gameplay , Thanatos still got destroyed within 6 seconds while a much powerful kratos with blades of Olympus and much powerful arsenal found some difficulty in beating Hades and for Poseidon , he was the strongest god after Zeus and Poseidon was fighting kratos along with the titans which are literally embodiments of concepts themselves if Poseidon fought kratos alone , he would face some serious difficulty
