Wow, those are some rare and expensive OOP Blu-rays you have there! I also have the Leviathan Blu-Ray from Scream Factory. I am a big fan of the film but I kept putting off buying the blu-ray until it was too late and it went out of print, thankfully I found out not long after it happened and I was able to get a copy on Amazon from a seller for around 60 bucks. So compared to what it goes for now I am SO glad I moved fast and got it before sellers started jacking up the price. Thanks for the video!

That’s great you were able to get Leviathan before it’s gone up to the crazy prices it’s at now. I have had the same thing happen on some titles I missed over the years, so now I try to learn my lesson and buy more from the Boutique Blu Ray labels before they go out of print lol!! But in all seriousness it’s hard to always get every title and remember them all so it’s bound to happen that we miss some. But it’s so much fun collecting and having rare titles in your collection, just like your Leviathan Blu Ray, it makes them seem extra special too. We’re there any other titles in this video that you have been looking for to hopefully get or any other OOP titles you have been trying to get?

I live in France, I also have the Blu-ray of "The 13th warrior". One of the photos was signed for me by John Mc Tiernan himself. For the rest of my Blur-ray collection I have : Once upon a time in America (US edition with booklet and director's cut) Friday the 13th (US metal box edition with the complete collection) The ten commandements (limited box with goodies) The Punisher (French edition of Dolph Lundgen action movie with uncult version and workprint version) Jodorowki's Dune (limited edition of the documentary)

I got a Twilight Time copy of Moby Dick (the 1956 Gregory Peck version) that was limited to 3,000 units. It’s the best adaptation of Moby-Dick.

I inherited a TON of DVDs that were on the way to being thrown out but I was lucky enough to get them. there's a bunch of collectors edition stuff from Criterion and Arrow as well as others that are basically brand new. Its like they were purchased and then never touched again lol. It all came from an avid movie collector so it's really cool to see all the different types of stuff even though I don't know anything about movies lol

The German version has new rescan of source material with corrected gamma. The best version in terms of picture quality.

Wow, never realised those Columbia Collections would hit such high prices. Feel very lucky to have Vol1 and Vol2 right now. Had to pay slightly over for Vol1 last year but so glad I did now...

I think my rarest title is the Columbo Complete Series bluray set that I picked up after watching your review a few years ago. That set is worth over $450! I live it! Columbo is such a great show.

I have most of these and being in Australia we did get Blu-ray releases of certain movies only available here, like Splash for example. Most of the others were UK releases. Yes, having over 4,000 movies and growing, I really do need a bigger house.

Just found a Collector’s Edition of Skeleton Warriors on DVD in the wild this week. I had no idea they were so valuable. I guess that’s what happens when a low print run also has pressing issues.

I picked up Flight of the Navigator Limited Edition UK blu-ray release in Jan 2020 and thought I'd splurged at $41 USD, but it seems pretty hard to find that version now. I found one seller on Amazon UK selling it for 130 British pounds plus 55 pounds shipping.

Interesting you mention laser disc - got 100s of these - and very rare vhs copes too. I am not sure though whether anyone should buy Discs and physical media as investments but if you do go for limited special editions.

Great bunch of rare titles there. I'm fortunate enough to have some of those and got them when they were released such as the Arrow Ronin disc and House box set, The Dawn of the Dead ultimate 4k set, The Resident Evil 4k box and The Columbia Classics vol 1 set (vol 2 is on the way!). I better make sure I pre-order my Underworld set to sit alongside the Resident Evil ones. Let's face it none of these franchises are high art but they are very fun guilty pleasures and it's cool to own them in such nice box sets. Be great to get The 13th Warrior on Blu ray as I only have the old Australian released DVD but I can't justify 700 USD for it lol. Would be great to have that Alamo set.. looks amazing. Will keep an eye out for it. Definitely keen to know more about that Miami Vice set from Elephant. For some time I've been trying to decide which physical copy of Miami Vice I should get as I don't yet own it and like you I love that show ... A byproduct of my formative years being through the 80s (though I'm a 70s baby) I guess. I have found a copy of that Miami Vice box set you showed for 375 AUD so I'm tempted to pull the trigger!

If you buy to sell later, while it is in print, you are driving down prices for OOP titles, that is not greedy or scalping, it increases supply in the market

Hi there , Just wanted to let you know I have a small collection of 4K steelbooks and Blu-ray steelbooks. I wanted to let you know I found a 4 disk set of HOUSE , but only on DVD( BLUE UNDER GROUND). Well looked after as all my films are. Although my house box set is only DVD perhaps that might be worth something? Sorry the box set is presented by anchor Bay. Not blue underground.

Really enjoy your content. Quick questions about Elephant Films Miami Vice. Their website says the discs are 2.0 English Dolby Digital. The Mill Creek version is DD 5.1. Is there a 5.1 track on the Elephant Films? And one of the two links you posted do appear to show the box you are holding up maybe minus some stickers (FNAC Exclusive) on the shrink wrap but no where in the description does it mention the 100 page book. The same also on Elephant Films website. Also currently both versions are priced the same at $178US so that is adding to my confusion. Thanks!

They are region B locked in most USA Blu Ray players, also the only version that is worth owning is this version: amzn.to/3ouxita The French version I gave you the link for above is the only version to buy, because it does NOT have forced & locked German subtitles that cover up a lot of the picture. Sweet, as I was explaining sometimes you can find someone willing to sell a set for less. But a lot of the times the longer something has been out of print the harder it is to find a decent deal. Funny thing is that house collection when it was released originally only cost $49 so it’s gone wayyyy up in price. Have you gotten any of the newer Arrow Video Limited Edition sets I have reviewed recently while they are still for sale? It’s hard with Arrow Video titles because now I try to buy them right away when they are released so I don’t have to pay the high aftermarket prices they always go up to. Did you get the Ronin Special Edition from Arrow video when it was originally released too?

I screwed up big time not getting Crying freeman in 4k when it came out. I saw it about a year and a half ago for $70 and when I finally decided to "pull the trigger" it had already sold. PLEASE let me know if you ever want to get rid of yours or maybe trade for something rare I have like "Maniac" 2012 in 4k mediabook from "Nameless Media" or if you find one in the wild thanks👍

Wow, I actually have a couple of these. I'm surprised by Ronin. I got that on a sale for 8 pounds a few years ago. Arrow's glorious transfer of Ronin is a MASSIVE upgrade over the prior release, darn near reference quality. I would not be surprised if they printed a 4k, which would set these OOP bluray prices in their place.

Those are some great Blu Ray sets, but very expensive to buy lol!!! That’s the only issue with those out of print Blu Rays they go up in price very fast and there we’re printed very few copies. But it’s not impossible you just need to use some of the tips I shared in this video to help you find some of these rare titles. Thanks for sharing!

It's funny to me that Resident Evil is going for a high price, it has the worst packaging of anything in my collection. I've been hoping for a North American release of 13th Warrior, I saw the movie in theaters and loved it. Had it on DVD but sold it years ago and want a 4K now. A title going up in price is the Turbo Kid steelbook from Canada with the clear slip. Prices are in the high $70's to over a $100.

I have the limited run turbo kid Blu ray release from Australia that’s been out of print for a while too. It’s not worth that much yet, but it’s been growing lol!!! 13th Warrior has big rights issues in the USA that’s why it hasn’t been released in the USA even on Blu Ray. That’s one of the big reasons I have been trying so hard for many years to get this Blu Ray copy of 13th Warrior. I would be amazed if we ever see any other releases of it in the USA, but I would definitely double dip for that movie, it’s a very underrated film. I also agree about the Resident Evil 4K set having packaging I don’t love lol,,,, but at least we own the films. I just had no clue when I originally bought it that it was going to be this rare and it keeps growing in price too. Thanks for all your great comments.

Sweet, I got that set when it was first released for a pretty penny, it’s a great show. I just hope they start releasing some of those great classic western TV series remastered on Blu Ray soon, so many of those Bonanza, Gunsmoke, Have Gun Will Travel, The Virginian & Wild Wild West just to name a few would be a huge upgrade on Blu Ray. Also they would be much smaller and take up a lot less shelf space lol!!!! So it would be a win win!!!! Lol
