My personal favorite armored boss design is Maliketh, the Black Blade, without a single doubt. Apart from looking super cool on his own, he's the single best-looking boss while in motion. The speed and agility of his movements as he runs, twists, jumps, and flips around is nothing short of a feast for the eyes.

Crucible knights get undeserved bad rep from being misused by the game so much. On their own they would probably be a top 3 enemy/miniboss for most people especially from that design

The evergaol crucible knight is my favorite boss in the game. Perfectly balanced, everything I love about souls fights. The perfect telegraphs and a cool second phase. No gimmicks, just “the dance” at its best. I fought it underleveled and struggled for two hrs and loved every second of it

Like maybe Lies of P (if you haven’t played it yet don’t think I won’t travel to the UK from the US and force you to play it from beginning to end under the threat of violence lmao) cuz even if everyone’s already made their long form review id really like to hear your thoughts on it cuz again if you enjoy making these rank videos and you’re getting more attention with them, they’re just not my thing and i miss your reviews ❤️ so plz throw us old heads a bone occasionally please :)

I've already got an over an hour long Lies of P review from a couple of months back haha, and I just put out an over two and a half hour Final Fantasy 12 video too! I do these rank type videos much more these days but I still do sometimes throw in a retrospective/review vid every now and then.

I think both fume knight and pontiff sylvan are better then ornstine, as fights no contest but I think ornstines animations lack more then they give

Nice list and w for your 1st spot! :D I’d love to see a list where you take everything into account in a boss’ visual design and not just the armor aspect, like how hard the visual design goes for the bosses. I can for instance name Orphan of Kos and Nameless King being bosses that are widely considered to have very iconic and cool visual designs, regardless if they’d have armor or not.

I've always been a huge sucker for Ornstein. His design really sticks out when compared to all the other enemies and bosses in the game. I also generally prefer the more "slick" armours that alllow for some quick movement as opposed to the more bulky armour sets which is why also really like Artorias and the Penetrator. Also, I really agree with you about "dudes in armour". These bosses generally make for the best fights because the work really well with the combat system. Monstrous bosses usually involve fighting against the camera.

I find it odd you specifically excluded Vordt because you can't get his armor while you included the Pursuer, who's armor is also unobtainable. and of course, the Tower knight, who's armor is also unavailable (the BP wears the Brushwood set, but its different from the TK's version). And of course Margit/Morgott, who doesn't wear armor at all. and no, his cloak isn't armor. Not that I'm saying that Vordy deserved to be here and Pursuer doesn't, but still.

This list greatly perplexes me. Where's Gael? Or Genichiro? What about soul of cinder, gwyn, malenia, elemer, and fume knight? If morgott, who doesnt wear armor qualifies for the list, then where are bosses like mohg, radagon, owl, isshin, etc? What are GOATS like artorias and ornstein doing below the... iron golem, of all things? Obviously you're entitled to your opinion but the iron golem spends half the fight lying on the ground, and has like 3 different moves. Could you give me some insight on what you were thinking when you made these rankings? I love your videos but this one really has me scratching my head.

Visually speaking, Maliketh absolutely wins for me. Elden Ring is not my favourite in the series, and I don’t even really enjoy fighting Maliketh. But purely on aesthetics, he hits all the right spots for me. I’m just a sucker for a black & gold colour scheme, and the flourishes of red in his attacks are the cherry on top. Could also be that he gives me a weird nostalgic feeling towards the Infinity Blade games, not sure why but it helps his case!

Velstadt has the coolest armor i have ever seen. malikeths armor is up there but i personally think the helmet looks a little silly and edgy, while Velstadt has beautiful chad armor
