Top 20 Makes of 2020

Lovely to see your top 20 makes. All beautiful and it was good to be reminded of some of them and decide to make for me. 2020 isolation has given me more time to sew and I am finding that I am wearing all my makes everyday rather than saving them for 'good'. It's a nice feeling. Even my husband has commented on how happy I look and more confident. Has to be a bonus. Thank-you.

I am so in awe of your ability to choose patterns, but especially fabrics! They all look spectacular on you. Can you clone your abilities? I especially love the fabric in #3. So many sewists on KZbin are excellent craftspeople but unaware of the impact of color and pattern and how they interact with their own unique projection of self. You own this space! I purchased the Leila dress pattern because of your dress. I was hoping it made it into the countdown! I've made a top and a dress from it and I only purchased it Friday! Everything is beautiful though!

Happy New Year. Thanks for showing us your top 20. I love that you are always so inspirational with your comments. I'm 63 and I am now thinking of making the Burnside overalls. Like all dressmaking some things come out okay and others don't. The dress I'm hemming at moment my sister will be getting as a pleasant surprise for her. Have a great 2021. I loved the pale blue material in your shared No. 1 and my absolute favourite was the Hope dress because of that stunning fabric which perfectly matched the pattern. I made the suki in a satin but now I'm going to make it in linen - thanks for all of this!

So many faves I couldn't keep up with the numbers! Lots of inspo there...unfortunately I have sewn so many clothes for myself this yr I cannot justify one more thing. Closet and drawers are full! I think I'll be sewing fabric scraps together for all of 2021...maybe I'll take up scrap quilting...if lockdown doesnt end soon!

Isn’t it interesting how we often say it’s ‘just from spotlight’! I have been really impressed with the choice and quality recently and spoke to the manager of my local store (I used to work there) She said that they employed a new buyer a couple of years ago which is probably why we are starting to see some great fabrics coming through!
