Yeah, I would rather hear about a dangerous storm than a stupid fake show. I remember when there was a Tornado Warning (due to slight rotation, there was no funnel) and that interrupted WWE SMACKDOWN back in 2016, and I cared more about the storm than wrestling at the moment

I watched "The Messiah Complex" and it's well thought out and researched, his points are valid and comprehensive, and when he brings it all together at the end, it's genuinely thought-provoking. It's clear that none of the interviewers had time to watch it nor understood it, but humiliating him about his accent instead of asking interview questions was awful.

I've worked as a journalist. I got into it with a source twice. One was a city councilman who was furious because a story I wrote called a bypass a bypass. It was over the building of a new road that was a bypass. But that word made him go ballistic, because he thought it sounded like his city's downtown was being left behind. The other time was about a dozen years later when I interviewed a racist. He claimed black African nations had no written language until they were colonized by Europeans. When I pointed out that Ethiopia (when it was called Abyssinia) had the world's first written language, he shrieked, "Ethiopians aren't black!" I realized I had wasted fairness on an inherently unfair mind, and told him what I thought of him. I have no apologies; I'd do it again.

Just goes to show politicians are terrible people overall and it's putting the right team behind them that yield certain favorable results. Remove these people from their inner circle and the terrible person they are rings true. The inverse applies as well put the wring people around them and the person they truly are can't be masked. “On the morning of august 30th…” Uhm…hurricane Katrina made landfall on August the 29th, 2005. I remember that date extremely well, as my birthday is August 28th. I turned 21 that year and was a brand new RN working on the gulf coast. We were without power at the hospital I worked for except for emergency generators. There was no A/C and the temperature was in the 100’s. We couldn’t even crack windows as our hospital had them sealed shut due to patient safety concerns years prior. We took in mass casualties from New Orleans and the Mississippi gulf coast. I saw a lot of death and sadness and then at the end of an excruciating day I got to go home to no power or running water for nearly 5 weeks. It was one of the worst things I hope to ever experience in my life. I swear whoever does y’all’s research/scripting is bad! Edit: I don’t blame Chad Myers for snapping at Carol, though. I’d have done the same with her! She was hella disrespectful and giggling while people were down here dying. When she said she needed him to kinda dumb it down for her I’d have said “it’s a huge death machine, Carol!!! Does that sum it up enough for you or do I need to break out some crayons and draw you a picture?” 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️

I have a public facing job that requires me to do frequent news and radio interviews throughout the year, and because of that I consider myself a pretty confident speaker. BUT, there have been a few times where all of my expertise and PR "know-how" went out the window, _solely because the person interviewing me sucked (either at their job or just in general as a human being.)_ *So the level of candor, restraint, and professionalism celebrities and other well-known/famous people are constantly demonstrating is nothing short of amazing*

That British journalist Guru-Murthy who was interviewing Robert Downey Jr. That one was better (or worst) than the interview with Quentin Tarantino. The journalist had to pry on RDJ’s personal life when in actuality this was meant to be about his then-new movie Avengers: Age of Ultron. Rather than get angry or snap at him, RDJ just gets up from his chair and says “good bye” ending the conversation. I say that was a good call, that douche journalist had some nerve to ask him that. RDJ even said about that interview if it were Diane Sawyer, he wouldn’t mind speaking about it. To one up that incident, he posted a picture on social media of him posing with Sawyer.

So I was on the news three different times. Each one was completely by accident.. the first was for what’s right with our schools when a new piece of technology emerged called the Braille light millennium. I was later asked to be interviewed again because I figured out that you could use this piece of assistive technology to browse the Internet and intern, it actually made things a lot easier for everyone because then that started the whole thing where Internet became more user-friendly. And also got freedom scientific shut down. Then the next time I was interviewed for a local broadcast called Roy’s folks. I didn’t go as well because my dad had forced me into rushing into the interview, and I had to smack him in the belly ones because he was being ridiculous. And then the final time last year I had a plane crash in my neighborhood. Thankfully no one was injured or killed but I actually witnessed it happening so I got interviewed. For anyone curious about the plane crash. This little fisher by plane had engine issues, but the pilot thought he could fly it anyway out of the airport and by the time it reached me it was sputtering and stuttering and then it sold out completely as it was going over my head, and it crashed right at the end of my street

Wasn’t Frank Rizzo like heavily involved in the mafia? Gotta have some huge balls to confront that guy on the street like that

That's not something I ever heard. Be careful to not equate being Italian with being in the mob. That's something I've dealt with my entire life as an Italian kid, with a well-to-do Italian father, in the suburbs of Philadelphia. He came from South Philly where a lot of folks were involved in the mob. However, like any ethnic population, they all knew each other. They weren't that far removed from the days they landed in the City.

@@peterc6156 I remember a scene from The Irishman where Frank Rizzo was like giving an award to Frank Sheeran who was a mob hitman. I could be wrong but that’s just what I remember.

Can Guru-Murthy and Piers Morgan just sit in a vacuum sealed room obnoxiously interviewing each other until all of their carbon dioxide replaces the oxygen?

Ironically it turned out he was on the money. I agreed from the start and thought they were classless grifters out for anything and everything they could get, my wife was more sympathetic and felt sorry for them …… initially. Now one whiney as fuck book and a bazillion TV spots, Netflix voice overs etc she sees it my way. Piers is an arrogant tool at times but he called it first on UK TV.
