I did a list of my own without any internal order: Pac man * Pong * Civilization Dune II Wing Commander Flight simulator Out run Zelda * Super Mario Bros* (*64) Doom/Wolfenstein * StarCraft World of Warcraft Everquest Diablo EA Fifa or NHL Street fighter 2 * Final Fantasy * Gran Turismo GTA III Ultima (*Was included in the WM list) Games I was sceptical of their inclusion Space War (This one is a bit of an unknown quantity for me) Tecmo Super Bowl (Wrong sport for most of the world) Dragon Quest (Zelda, FF, Ultima, or even Might and Magic all seem more influential and very similar)

Of what I heard, Doom paved the way for Quake and so many other first person shooter games. Half-Life was used to branch off to Counter-Strike which also paved the way to other shooter games. Shooter games probably where heavily "influenced" by old games Battle City and Contra. Real Time Strategy (RTS) were probably greatly influenced by the Red Alert Games and Warcraft Games. And Blizzard games probably influenced the gaming world by a large margin as it has and still has paved the way and maintained a global competitive scene in star craft which put more money into the game industry. Streetfighter probably would be the most influential fighting game as it reached corners of the world not easily reached by others and has elements used by so many games even today. Along with Final Fantasy, Metal Gear, Splinter Cell, Diablo franchise, and so many others there are countless games that influenced gaming as it is today.

It's lowest subscription rate is the envy of all in the MMO genre. It certainly has shown more staying power than many titles, regardless of what you think about it.
