Mile High Club was an absolute nightmare. I did it both on the original and remastered games. I did it quicker on remastered because of the experience. It took me only three days to get all the achievements for the remastered.

I cant tell you how many attempts it took me to finally beat the Perfect Run in SMG2. Probably hundreds. Maybe even thousands. And I had to take a ton of breaks, sometimes days or weeks at a time, to keep some level of sanity before beating it. But the satisfaction from beating a level like that is indescribable.

Battletoads was such a fun semi difficult game right up until the turbo tunnel… then it gets turned up to insane! It’s like one of the programmers wanted to punish all of the gamers for getting dumped right before they designed this level 😅

It's even harder when playing co-op. Both players need to finish the level perfectly. Either one failing causes both to fail. My buddy and I back in the day managed to beat it but it took literally 12+ hours.

I hated the level with the bouncing roly-poly bugs and those damn wasps. Then the level ends with a mini boss while you stand on flies that keep dropping. Seemed like I could never get to the mini boss with more than 1 HP haha

Timesplitters 2: Atom Smasher, on Hard difficulty. The game already gives you a hint with having only one or two checkpoints per level and no way to replenish your health (save for the preceding level of Neo-Tokyo...and only if you know where to find the secret character who can heal you). Atom Smasher ramps up the pain by not only forcing you to find bombs under a very strict time limit, but also having to do multiple mini-escorts as you can't defuse the bombs yourself and instead have to find and escort scientists to do it for you...and on top of that, the level throws another twist with one bomb that requires you to play a crane game to pick it up and drop it in a garbage disposal all while the clock keeps ticking down. If that wasn't enough, you also have to contend with enemies popping out of every object that's big enough to contain a body, find fire extinguishers to put out fires blocking your path (and make sure you don't accidentally shoot them while trying to gun down enemies), and at the end of all that, you face a tough boss battle that's accompanied by endlessly spawning waves of timesplitters, and once the boss is down, the timesplitters will keep spawning in while you try to complete the final two objectives required for the level to at last end.

@Limegreendragon Actually, yes MKM is very hard and that's just my point lol. Infinite lives is a cheat code that most have to use it because yes MK Mythologies is very hard actually. Cheat codes are only used when people can't get past certain parts. Thats the whole point of a *cheat code* Mythologies is way harder than a good majority of games on this list. Like I said fujins stage alone is ridiculously hard and thats on medium difficulty. I've beaten the game several times even on max hard even beating shinnok til he falls off the bridge which most don't even know you need to use his arctic blasts multiple times. Most players run away there's also thr controls that make it tough to adapt to.

The Pachinko Game level was incredibly frustrating because of an invisible force pushing Mario right until he reaches the center of the board, which makes landing in the left holes much more difficult.

And it was only level 3 as I recall... I found the hardest level that I never got the hang of was that one where you're being chased on that unicycle thingy.. HATED that, could never figure it out. The rest weren't too bad.. maybe the water level lol

Battletoads, played on my very first console I bought; Super NES. I was 16 years old. The game in general was awesome. But the level; Turbo tunnel, I still remember the timing of each jump, each ramp each obstacle. The entire game is though, but Turbo tunnel, it challenges the devotion. I miss those days where gaming was genuinely gaming, instead of a lure to enslave those that game.

How about Atari ST's "Time Bandit", the final four "Darkside Dare" stages (all the same, just mirror/reverses of one another). Also, ColecoVision's "Montezuma's Revenge"...once you reach level 8 or 9 the entire level is invisible for all platforms, ladders and objects to climb. Only enemies and objects to find are visible.

Tubular, I remember that one well. I came up with a trick using a Yoshi, the cape and well timed jump. If I got it right it took mere seconds to clear it but if you got unlucky by getting hit you'd fall and die. There's another level which I struggled with on a game which wasn't mentioned, Remember G-Police on the PS1? Towards the latter end of the game there is a really long level where you provide escort for a raid on the Krakov HQ, so you tediously kill things through a long trip through all these domes until you finally arrive there, then you have to disable these 3 escaping cars with an EMP and you cannot miss because you only have 3 EMP charges, if you miss one or one of these vehicles gets destroyed then it can bug the game and the level won't complete. Just as this is done and you are thinking thank god for that, I finally completed it, you are then attacked by fighters from the Nanosoft HQ and you have to defend your team again or the mission fails. By this point you will have used basically all of your ordinance except your laser and your machine gun, both of which are a pain to hit these fighters with because they are small and move fast, plus your laser and machine guns overheat quickly under continual operation. If by some miracle you manage to get past this point the level should complete, but nooooope, not always. Lets go back to the aforementioned bug, if one of the disabled cars was destroyed or some little enemy/civilian fighter did not join in the attack on you for whatever reason, or because the game just feels like doing it, the ground units will just drive around aimlessly until they reach a point where they fall through an invisible hole in the road where they explode and fail your mission for you. I'll bet this level stopped a lot of players dead back in the day because of how long and infuriating it was, only to then be stopped by that bug when you thought you'd done it.

10:17 the thing that not everyone knows is that in the one of the first edition of the game you got to a part where you have one key and can open two doors. If you opened the wrong door and save, that's it, you actually have to start the game all over again, do all previous four temples, speak with all de NCP's again, etc. The first time that this happened to me, my big brother laugh his ass off because he knew the mistake i was making, because it already happened to him

i heard that it's possible to "cheat" #30 by getting ON TOP of the train. i heard somewhere that "the impossible lair" is made up of a bunch of areas that were originally rejected from the game for being too hard! i once saw a video of some beating it with NO bees, but that took a LOT of practice.

I can't believe you didn't include !! It is true the first time though, Blighttown is a pain in the ass but once you know the level, it is a pretty easy run to Quelaag, even for someone like me that doesn't do speed runs. On the other hand, Ringed City is a pain in the ass every single time, even with the IWIN blades.

Blight Town was nothing to me in Dark Souls Remastered. There are Dark Souls II areas that are much harder.

You put the first Hades on this list, but not The Trials of Archimedes from God of War Ascension?? Are you nuts? Hades was a snap. Archimedes was so hard that Santa Monica Studios had to create a patch just to nerf that level! And though I know you guys only ever heard of console games, I need to mention The Final Sini-Star from Sini-Star Unleashed (you could easily run out of ammo, making the game unfinishable) The True Wizard from Dungeons of Daggorath on the Tandy Color Computer, the shuttle landing from Aliens on the C-64, and the Ghost Airport mission in Enter The Matrix (if it glitches).

If you play Ocarina of Time Master Quest, the Water Temple is much easier, while all the other dungeons get cranked up to 11.
