I feel good should be number one. It was used dozens of times, especially in the 80s and 90s. Maybe they pulled back on it recently, but it's got to be the most used song (that isn't public domain) in movies.

I feel like "Eye of the Tiger" really belongs on this list, honestly, should be number one. I hear it in like, every other movie and show whenever there's a montage, or just a really action-heavy scene. It's used way more than Mr. Blue Sky, which I can recall only a small handful of movies and shows using.

A guy runs into an airport to grab his fiancee and tell her he loves her and not to get on the plane. "l'hymne à l'amour" "Je ne regrette rien "or other songs by Edith Piaf. In any American film that wants to emphasize that the scene takes place in France. "Pretty woman" by Roy Orbison. Watching SNF as an adult - is a radically different experience. It’s no “disco romp.” Saturday night Fever is an incredibly dark film (watching it as an adult was just crushing - horrible things happen to innocent characters - including the brutal SA of a neighborhood girl who trusts the guys as her friends and the vicious betrayal is devastating, has a sad unrequited “love story,” random racially-motivated hate and violence, constant belittling, terrible physical abuse and domestic violence at home, profound mental health issues, etc). There are *many* very dark events, and it’s basically implied that Travolta will *never* escape his working class roots (the “sequel” is completely worthless so I’m not even mentioning it). The same is the case of “Staying Alive” - the lyrics are brutal and reflect the empty, bleak reality of Travolta’s world - basically trying to outru, the void, which wlewys, inevitable, catches up.

Walking on Sunshine is often used to quickly set up a quirky (yet very likable) character’s introduction to a show. Example: when the character of Charlie was introduced on Supernatural, she is walking into a very subdued office building. She has her headphones on and is listening to the song. As soon as she steps onto a glass elevator that is empty, she energetically begins to dance until she abruptly stops when the elevator stops and she steps off and back into a subdued role. No other song can take 30 seconds and set up that characterization so well.

I did an analysis of this in relation to its use in the second Detective Pikachu trailer-it was kind of shocking how many more elements they could have used if they needed/wanted to. The first line of the song actually matches up with the main character’s last name, but perhaps that was too on the nose.

I'll give you nearly all of these. One solution for Bad to the Bone & Born to be Wild is the much less used George Thorogood song Born to be Bad. I've only ever heard it in an episode of Married With Children, oddly enough also involving a motorcycle. Kelly is feeling old at 20 something after working for a while and buys a bike. Thinking about his life not lived, Al daydreams of picking up hot hitchhikers and living free. A great use of the song.

I mostly remember it as a gag from the musical “We Will Rock You” where the evil lead thinks she’s won and starts to sing the song, only for her underling to stop her (and the song) almost immediately. (I believe in an anniversary performance she breaks the fourth wall, complains about how she never gets to sing it, and then not only does the entire song, she also pulled Brian May out from behind a piece of scenery to play the solo!)

Watching SNF - is a radically different experience. It’s no “disco romp.” Saturday night Fever is actually an incredibly dark film (watching it as an adult was just crushing - horrible things happen to innocent characters - including the brutal SA of a neighborhood girl who trusts the guys as her friends and the vicious betrayal is devastating, has a sad unrequited “love story,” random racially-motivated hate and violence, constant belittling, terrible physical abuse and domestic violence at home, profound mental health issues, etc). There are *many* very dark events, and it’s basically implied that Travolta will *never* escape his working class roots (the “sequel” is completely worthless so I’m not even mentioning it). The same is the case of “Staying Alive” - the lyrics are brutal and reflect the empty, bleak reality of Travolta’s world - basically trying to outrun the void, which always, inevitable, catches up.

The spots on the video where the songs are got a bit messed up but the main one is 19:09 "Let's get it ON' is just not there and is only Bohemian Rhapsody. Probably really really busy whoever had that job I suppose because it is really fast the transitions and songs so I can see why...Besides my nit picking really another badass and interesting video from WatchMojo ! I've never enjoyed cut up clips or discussing just a mess of clips until I encountered WatchMojo...! Ya'll somehow are storytelling with just clips of other storytelling I am just now realizing. The lack of dead air and the getting down to the nitty and gritty and introspectiveness you dive into with all your topics instead of treading lightly unsure and leaving the clips to play too long, you hit us with thoughts to take with us and dive into as our lives unfold and we re-play all of this media in a new light the next time we experience them...You do so much more it's hard to put in a box so..I won't Keep on keepin on Mojojojo ! Bravo! (long time fan and not ending anytime soon! )
