I'm surprised that "Boy Meets World" didn't get an honorable mention. The series finale, titled "Brave New World" was an iconic episode that drew in a crowd of 17.1 million. One of the greatest moments was at the end when Cory, Shawn, Topanga, and Eric say their final goodbyes to Mr. Feeny, and even though he refuses to tell them he loves them while they're present, after they leave Mr. Feeny looks around the empty classroom and says the final line of the series: "I love you all. The one downside to the MASH finale is that it set the bar too high. Now when a show, especially a long runner, ends fans expect it to be an epic that changes the landscape of television. Even if the episode is perfectly competent and concludes the story, viewers revolt.

I cried my eyes out during the MASH series finale. There was no way I was going to miss it. Otherwise, most of these shows I hardly watched at all. I may have caught an episode or two, but I never bothered to keep up with the characters or what they were doing. So I would see an episode and wonder, "Who's that?" or "Why's she doing that?" It was too hard to watch most programs regularly. The exceptions are, of course, MASH, plus All In The Family, Happy Days, and Star Trek: The Next Generation (which I loved but always thought was a dumb name). I didn't watch Seinfeld, but there was so much hype regarding the series finale I did actually see that. It reminded me of why I didn't watch the show. I hated the characters,

I object to the somewhat sneering tone of the discussion on The Fugitive’s finale - especially the comment that “there were many fewer viewing options back then.” The Fugitive finale pioneered wrapping up a series with a concluding episode (most series in those days just went off the air with no special conclusion) and every other finale on this list owes it a debt of gratitude. Viewing options or not, this episode held the record for a series television audience until the Who Shot JR episode of Dallas. Plus, it’s a great and satisfying finale. Give it the respect it deserves!

The line, ""Hi. I'm larry. This is my brother darryl. And this is my other brother darryl.""? Quite classic. Though I never got those 3 actors real names. Still.. Funny. On that note, My dad had a little too much to drink one night. And that scene with that character came on the tv. My dad never heard it before. My dad laughed. And laughed. And laughed. Good clean fun. A Good Memory of my father. That night.

SMALLVILLE ran for 10 Season's and had a spectacular two part finale when Clark Kent finally becomes Superman, and saves the Planet. Starred Tom Welling, and Erica Durance, among others.

What do you like about HIMYM's ending? It's strongly disliked by most viewers.

Nobody mentioned the finale of "Barney Miller". Barney turns off the lights and closes the door for the last time, followed by a long standing ovation.

In My Opinion Unhappily Ever After The Death and Resurrection of Mr. Floppy Tiffany going to Harvard at last totally destroyed me when I first saw it

That's not actually an opinion it's just a statement. In my opinion, people barely remember that show let alone cared when it ended. But, we all have our things.

@@popculturewatch8689 that show was a way to cope over the loss of Married With Children and wasn't all that bad, but unfortunately that's why it got knocked off was because it wasn't Married With Children.

@@leefischer5814 it was on while married was on for the most part. It wasn't used to cope with the loss of anything. And it was a poor copy.

the ads for the "friends" finale were way to present, it was like we get it ,it going off you don't have to beat me over the head with that fact. no one else had done that type of advertising and no one else should do it.

MASH exceeded the movie that started it all, and then the finale topped all of that, we wanted to see them all get out of that warzone, and when they finally did, we were sad to see them go. that show will never be topped as it showcased both the best and worst in humanity in a way that was impactful without causing a controversy.

Saw up to season 4, not well i might add. I was so young back then. By the time I saw later seasons i was like woah. Time really sped up for me after that.

I was gonna say ALF, but the series finale wasn't suppose to be the finale, it was a cliffhanger season finale. The writers wrote it as such so the network would pick up the show for another season. But it had the feeling of a finale.

M*A*S*H is the greatest TV series of all time with the greatest series ending of all time. All the other shows don't even come close.

You forgot to say there's spoiler alerts ahead. Because there's people that haven't finished the series and doesn't want the last episode of that shows to be Spoiled

I still remember the Dallas finale pissed off hockey fans in Canada. CBC pre-empted the second game of the 1991 Wales Conference Final between Pittsburgh and Boston to show the finale of the long running prime time soap. When the show ended, the joined the hockey in progress late in the second period. Boston won in overtime, which also was their last playoff win that season and the Penguins went on to win the next four games en route to their first Stanley Cup over Minnesota.
