it would be nice to shop in non - tourist areas. Where locals go for their groceries, cosmetics, local restaurants and more😊 Japan is a paradise for everything

It is exciting to shop where locals go. I like to do when I also travel abroad.😉

Every time I go into a Japanese department store or a unique 'lifestyle product' boutique which offers higher end goods, I'm enchanted entirely. It's not just the variety but the extraordinary quality of these astonishingly quirky but beautiful and useful items which make me immediately want to know how the Japanese store buyers do their job. Retail Store Buyers get absolutely no acknowledgement or credit, they are the engine that stays hidden yet the success of these stores rests almost entirely on their trained eye, creativity, understanding of consumer desires and needs. I think they're magical people who need more credit. They just stock stores with the most fantastic things. Their Western counterparts just cannot compete. Where do they find all these things?! This top 20 list was so excellent. I loved this video. That bath salt right in the middle of the screen on the second shelf up at 4:43 is one of my favourites (the one with the character holding the fruit cocktail). The one you held up at 5:15 is so good that I keep the sachet after using the salts and use the strongly scented bag to fragrance my drawers. You're the only person who's ever shown that product in a video!! It's so good!🤩

I was so impressed that you’ve already knew the bath salt. You know a lot of things not only going viral on sns but also the things local Japanese use daily. As you say Japanese engineers and creators strongly stick to produce covenient yet high quality items very often. Whenever I go to the “Hands” shop, the lines up items have been changed depending on seasons plus newly released items a lot. I’m so happy that we have a lot of common things and you liked this video. It’s a bit a different from other souvenir videos which got a lot of views.😅

@@whatsnewinjapan. You're right-- we do like so many of the same sorts of things so would probably have a fun day shopping and would be recommending such similar things to each other! Please keep making videos about all the things YOU really enjoy-- it must be satisfying to find your kindred spirits out here. For the viewer, it's a thrill to see someone enthusiastically talk about something they love, which just happens to be something THEY love too. Love your channel. I hope you have a lovely winter season and remain in good health.
