This list perfectly illustrates how AAA companies no longer take any risks whatsoever. Everything is either a sequel or a remake with barely any new IPs and even those are clearly inspired by other more successful titles. Plus neither graphics nor gameplay is anything we haven't seen before. No wonder people say this generation of gaming is stagnant.

I'm replaying Ghost of Tsushima at the moment and wondering why haven't we gotten anything similar to that lately. You know, a game with fluid and engaging combat even if it's not the hardest to master it makes for a refreshing pacing

@@Spn308 developers are mere footsoliders and it takes hundreds of them to make a game so "do better" might sound cool when you say it but it means nothing. There are companies to launch projects over many years budgeted in the millions in order to make a game. I unfortunately don't have that much after I pay rent. So my criticism is not on a developer who just did his job and collected his pay, it's on the decision makers and creators who no longer bother taking a shred of risks

I love final fantasy, yet I can’t stand what they did to the franchise. I won’t be buying any of their Devil May Cry Final fantasy bullshit. Funny how so many other games they described as a “devil may cry” type of gameplay when the dude who made DMC has moved to square Enid to make final fantasy games that are devil may cry. Dogshit. It’s not that I hate Devil May Cry. I just liked final fantasy for what it was. If I wanted to play a DMC style game, then you play DMC but if you wanna play a classic RPG that has mostly turn based combat, then that’s what you should be getting when playing final fantasy. Granted 7’s remake is trying to incorporate some of that and while doing so, they’ve made the game into another kingdom hearts 😅 with how stupid the storyline is now. But it is what it is

You bet $450 on what? These games aren't exclusives, and the exclusives on other consoles may not even be your cup of tea. Legend of Zelda, Mario, other Nintendo games and not much else, dark souls remastered and a if you pay 4 bucks a month you get a bunch of retro games. Xbox you get halo and gears of war which could be nice, Starfield is supposedly coming to other consoles in the future, I forgot any other Xbox exclusives. Pc can play anything except switch games. If you got a console for the exclusives that's on you and you alone, you should've got one that already had games/ongoing series you knew you liked

God I can't wait for Rise of the Ronin. I wouldn't get my hopes up for the story though, team Ninja games usually have a pretty mediocre story, like Nioh 1,2 and Wo Long. But all these games have amazing combat. If they can make a game with that level of combat AND a great story, this might be one of the better games this year, which will be a difficult task with FF Rebirth, DD2 and LAD Infinite Wealth.

Where's GranBlue Fantasy Relink? Kinda shocked it's not here. It's got to be one of the best Action RPGS I've ever played of all time, let alone the year. And it's already breaking a bunch of records on Steam and become the #1 most played JRPG within just one week (right after MHWorld) For me personally, it's right up there with Monster Hunter World.

It breaks my heart to see Jake excited for it when the game has all the telltale signs of disappointment. Of course we need more pirate games 🏴‍☠️ but Ubisoft has the magic reverse midas touch - turning gold ideas into shit delivery. A “pirate” game where you essentially play as a ship… no boarding, no island exploration, no on foot combat, forced multiplayer, surprisingly bad animation, fetch quests, weirdly bad mouth movement for speech… it feels like a mobile game. I was excited for it when it was first announced I thought it was going to be more Black Flag, oh how wrong I was.

It’s not hard like nioh but it controls somewhat similar, it’s also like always on sale on steam for very cheap, like 5ish dollars I think. I would highly recommend it

For me, every tekken game has been top notch. Ive been in it since tekken 2. Street fighter doesnt even come close, soul caliber is OK....and the only MK that i enjoyed as much as tekken, is MK11. And even then- only play as sub zero. Favourite tekken character- Jin Kazama. Bycicle kick+ double punch- so satisfying 😊

A list I'd really like to see from anyone really, but I feel like this channel could do the job, 'Games that acknowledge you being a weirdo". I am super stoked for Space Marine 2, mainly because my first ever foray into WH40K was Boltgun last year. Also, 18 of 20 in this list on PC makes me smile :D
