Believe it or not I was a young boy and in 89 I got the power metal album. That song over and out made me want to jam. Then they started pumping out amazing albums CFH and on. I can play most of Dimes stuff

Dimebag could do with two notes what most modern guitarists can't do with the entire fretboard. I miss the days when good riffs meant writing something clever and not just cramming in as many notes as possible in drop F just to try to make it sound heavy. Maybe I'm old, but a lot of modern metal sounds cluttered.

Очередное нытье дедов по поводу "раньше было лучше". Есть много современных групп которые могут похвастать охринненными риффами, просто ты ленивая жопа, ведь дабы найти кучу крутых и современных групп нужно что то делать, а поныть можно без труда.

Hey man ! Really nice video ! But I have one question: I think I remember that Ola Englund said the hole Cowboys from Hell album was played in 440 hz besides the song Cowboys from hell itself. That only song was played in 425 hz. Is that right or did I misunderstand it?
@ibrahimbirdal Жыл бұрын
Actually whole album is in 435Hz as I know, but I didn't chance tunning, played in 425

What key do you tune your guitar to when playing Pantera songs?

they mainly use(d) e standard and d standard although they used 432hz which is very slightly flat from normal tuning.

I misread the second part. I thought that it was *You must play all Pantera Riffs at 425 dB as Dimbag do* not the tuning frequency. I was about to go find an amp powered by two black holes combining.
@Lif3OfAMV7 ай бұрын
that made me laugh out loud fr😂 usually worried about waking up the neighbors, at 425 u finna hit the first power chord and level both you and your neighbors house
@Lif3OfAMV7 ай бұрын
but it is semi accurate, pantera refused to play at so many venues because they refuse to play unless they could be at a certain dB, i don’t know the exact number so i’m not going to spread misinformation, but it was higher than what is considered “safe”. around 110 is the level where you take the risk of permanent ear damage, or atleast being in pain while you’re listening. but to put into perspective what 425 would actually do, most lists or charts cap out at 140-160 decibels (shotgun blast, aircraft carrier deck, jack hammers, basically the loudest shit you can think of, it doesn’t go past 160) the loudest music/sporting events don’t go past 130, so a classic pantera concert was probably around 125-140. at a certain point a sound wave (which is a pressure wave) simply becomes a shock wave, exactly like an explosion. this would happen at about 190 decibels, the sound wave would have a pressure twice that of normal air. 172 decibels is what was recorded over 100 miles away from the krakatoa volcanic eruption, nobody knows how loud it was at the scene, but the sound traveled around the world 3 times. 220 decibels was recorded from the saturn V rocket at take off, which was loud enough to melt concrete, just from sound energy alone. the loudest sound in recorded human history was 315 dB, which flattened everything in the area of 2000 square kilometers, which is only x4.6 less than the tsar bomba, the largest nuclear device ever tested. so let me get to the point, if you somehow had every amp on the planet connected and you somehow found a pedal with the cosmic power of god, at 425 dB, it would be the beginning of the end of the world😂 a single chord would turn your body to dust, since you would be closer to ground zero than anyone ever has been, and then totally level everything in a 4,000 mile radius, (the usa coast to coast is 2,800 miles) so if you didn’t kill every person in all 50 states, then the ones who survived no longer have the use of their ears. that’s just the shockwave however, the sound would travel around the planet over 7 thousand times, every living thing on earth would have their eardrums ruptured immediately, sea creatures being the only thing out of reach, but even the deepest of deep sea creatures would feel the vibrations. can’t say for certain what would happen to the planet itself, but can assume that it would be devastating, would probably rip the earth apart😂 last part i promise, im sitting at the bar with 2 scratch sheets of math and my bartender is making fun of me for nerding out about sound😂 when you compare dB it’s not 200 dB is twice as loud as 100 dB, it’s 33 times as loud, every +3 db is the equivalent to doubling how loud something is, so 163 db is two times louder than a shotgun blast. so a sound at 425 dB is 88 times louder than a shotgun blast, which is hard to imagine, but i wouldn’t be surprised if it liquified everything the planet itself. so theoretically, at 1100 dB, 225 times louder than the sound that would destroy the planet, would create a supermassive black hole that would destroy the currently observable universe and beyond. sound is something i have never given a second thought, the absolute limit to what’s normal for us would be a pantera concert, but when you do the math and lay it all out there, holy ducking shit, it has the power of planetary destruction😂
