Vita was never lacking "muscle" at all! The fking thing was a beast, and still remains relevant to this day with extremely loyal supporters/owners. The only issue was the lack of dev support with the exception of all the indies that were initially intended or eventually ported over. I totally agree that a new console from Sony needs to be an absolute beast as it's what people are looking for nowadays (and are more than happy to pay a premium to own), but such a thing will still struggle to succeed again these days if no one bothers to write s/w for the damn thing... should be interesting :|

I love my Nintendo 3DS, but I was hoping for U.S. releases of Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, a new Final Fantasy game in the SERIES, Contra 5, Metal Gear (new game), Metal Slug, Street Fighter V, Burnout, Sonic, Battlefield, Mega Man: Powered Up 2, Mega Man: Powered Up 3, Double Dragon, and more.

PS Vita must haves from my experience are (in a somewhat significant order) Killzone Mercenary, Persona 4 Golden, Assassin's Creed Liberation, Batman Arkham Origins Blackgate, Sonic All-Star Racing Transformed, Uncharted Golden Abyss, and Unit 13. Honorable mention to Lego Batman 2 DC Super Heroes.

Legit still kicking myself for not playing Persona 4 years ago. Throughout the entire RPG genre it's just one of the most unique and stylish experiences, and the whole Japanese countryside setting somehow felt like home.

The console is amazing and for some reason wasn't appreciated for the gamers and even the own Sony. I am looking for a strong reason to get a PS vita (based on the most important thing: games) but watching this list all I can find are games that I don't really see them as an argument to buy a console. I am not saying these titles are bad, but If you pay attention to the vita's catalog the majority of the games have a Japanese thematic (because of the console still sells reasonably good there) and I have never been a fan of weird Japanese games. Anyway, I still think this console deserves a better list considering how powerful and ergonomic is.

I am so happy you are giving the PS Vita some love. I absolutely love the Vita and, unlike what people tend to say, it's definitely not dead. Tons of high quality JRPG's releasing all the time. Japan supports the system a lot still and that makes it pretty alive to me.

Toukiden 2 ,Toukiden Kiwami & GodEater 2 Rage Burst are pretty good in terms of hunting genre as well. "YS VIII Lacrimosa of Dana" is also a nice action RPG worth looking into, so be sure to give it a try when it makes it way to the west.

Persona 4 is fucking amazing. I played it while on a road trip to and back from Ontario, and boy was P4 amazing. I didn't finish it, and I STILL haven't finished it. But I definitely plan to soon. I love the OST, the characters, the animation, and the art style. The OST is definitely one of the best OSTs I've ever heard, and the characters are fantastic. Yosuke is definitely my favorite character, because he is pretty much the perfect comic-relief. Honestly, if you haven't played Persona 4 yet, and you own a PS Vita, or a PS2 even, go buy it. It's such an amazing game, definitely in my top 10.

The Persona series is the best game series ever! I'm so excited continuing it with Persona 5 on PS4. I only have to finish Persona 4 first (at least one time, of course I'll finish it more than once, there is way too much to explore for only one time.) As well as World of Final Fantasy. Despite that, thank you so much for all of your amazing recommendations. I'll definitely try many of them. However, you should have put "Don't Starve" on the list, too. It would have deserved it.

Gravity Rush convinced me to buy a Vita :) I really like that game. I remember just thinking how unique that was to throw your entire body to harm your enemy LOL She has more powers as well. I really want a PS4 to play GR pt. 2. :)

In 2017 PSVita catalog is great! I would have added to the list Muramasa Rebirth, MGS 3, The Wolf among us and some ps1 classics, like The war of the lions or FFIX.

MoviesNGames007uk mgs 3 is so bad I never played and was hyped after so many good reviews only to be seriously disappointed. The camera was bad the graphics were not as good as mgs 2 witch I played just before it. the level design sucked the long boring long intro the game mechanics were broken sneaking up on an enemy was to hit and miss. The frustratingly long alert count down. 😣

Just to let you guys know, that footage of World of Final Fantasy is from the PS4 version. The Vita version looks worse and has slow down. Nothing so bad that you cannot play the game but I was mislead into thinking that what you saw there was the end product, it is now.

You should definitely try it in my opinion. I was never into jrpgs either, much like you and the speaker of the video. Until I found out about Persona, that is. I was captivated by the story instantly and it is the franchise that got me into jrpgs. While Persona 3 Portable (the psp iteration of persona 3) tells the story equally well, I would recommend playing the original Persona 3 if you own a PlayStation 2 (I think you can also download it to a PS3 through PSN). No matter which platform you choose, you are not going to regret it.

I put a lot of hours into Persona 3 on the PSP, great game! It's a gothic-y Japanese RPG with a Pokemon type element added to combat. You collect and level up demons and can fuse them with other demons.

A friend forced me to play Persona 4 Golden , I had never played any Persona or Shin megami game before , nor did I care for it. It's now one of my most favorite games. From the music, to the mystery in the story, excellent animations and voice acting, Persona 4 has it all.
