I love the 1976 version of Carrie because the dynamic between Sissy Spacek and Piper Laurie was phenomenal. What made that movie scary for me was that Piper Laurie was so convincing as an crazy, abusive, religious mother who has completely lost her grip on reality. Mirrors with Keifer Sutherland is a movie I've never been able to finish because it was so disturbing and terrifying.

I'm 54 years old now so confess I feel justified in saying that the 1976 Carrie movie, is STILL one of the BEST movies I have ever seen! I have watched a LOT of movies and I appreciate great acting - Sissy and Mr Travolta make their debut, and Piper Laurie and many others in this movie bring so much to this story and are TRULY amazing! Carrie was the first Stephen King book I read and I loved it. But, to me, this adaptation, is NOT a "HORROR" movie it's so, so, so much more than that! It is truly awesome and as someone who was bullied as a kid, I understand Carrie more than most. Think about it properly people - this is actually a really sad and touching story of a lonely girl who just wanted to belong.... ❤

Appreciate this comment Brotha. Just a friendly suggestion here for next time though. It makes it so much easier to filter and navigate through the videos that you like from those you don’t by adding a simple 👉🏾Time Stamp👈🏻. For Example, you can go to Nightmare on Elm Street at 13:22. This way, you don’t have to watch or skip through the entire video to find the specific clip you’re looking for. P. S Only reason why I posted this is because I am extremely appreciative of you listing the movies and just simply wanted to help for references. I was 17 years old in 1977 when I snuck into the local movie theatre to see The Exorcist and it scared me so much I had to crawl into my parents bedroom every night after they went to sleep and curl up on the floor next to my Dad then crawl back into my bed just before dawn and my Dads alarm getting him up for work. If either of them knew what I was doing they never said anything to me, maybe they didn't want embarrass me. I'm now 61years old and The Exorcist is no longer scary to me it's still the best horror movie I've ever seen and always will be! Thanks heaps for posting another awesome video and reminding me of a lot of great horror movies I had forgotten about but I'll never forget The Exorcist. The only reason why people think that The Exorcist is not that scary because some people tend to believe that horror movies only focuses on "jumpscares" not the "story". Not to mention Ridley Scott directed the hell out of that movie. Damn movie was made in 1979 and was way ahead of it's time with some of it's framing and cinematography. Some of those shots as Ripley is running down the corridors and others when she is climbing up the latter and the camera is right there zoomed in on her face as you see her sweating bullets. He really capitalized on the shear terror and panic of the situation in this film. It's one for the books. Always will be.

For me, The Exorcist. It may look tame and updated today but back in the 70"s this movie created hysteria and real fear for those that went to see it at the movie theaters. People even fainted inside the movie theaters and some even walked away in the middle of the movie

My Dad said to me he went to see it in his 20s with his mate and his mate had to sleep with the light on for a week after watching it😂 Really comes down to desensitisation. People are used to this sort of stuff now as people see these films when they're younger so they're used to it. That's why VR horror games are so effective. Many people aren't used to it and the immersion is real (I played RE7 VR and that was truly scary.)

Come on. EVERY horror movie list ever claims that the exorcist is the scariest horror movie. Is it just me or are there a ton of other movies that are genuinely more terrifying than this 50 year old movie? The Thing is a better movie than The Exorcist. There are plenty of other horror supernatural movies that out perform this movie. In fact, I'm pretty sure WM has already made a video like this before a few years back and their number one was the same.

Insidious scared the hell out of me because I unenthusiastically saw it as a non-horror fan with some friends when it was released in theatres. I've since come around to the genre, but that whole sequence with The Further was masterfully done and still frightens me. The Thing is an absolute classic, but the Exorcist is head and shoulders #1. People were going to priests after seeing the movie, being sick in the cinemas. Linda Blair was not cast for years as people thought she was possessed. Many people on set or related to people on set died during the making. The set burned down, and they could never trace the fire's origin. Way too much crazy stuff with that movie. And it still holds up today.

With “Alien” I’m just glad the cat was okay, and that there is somebody that survived to take it care of it as they safely returned to Earth. What was great about “Alien” is that a woman saves the day. Something that had yet to be seen in science fiction back then.

@Creative Pony Productions! A woman being the protagonist isn’t why it is amazing, the build, the script, the acting, the characters, all were amazing. Hell, what is probably the best part of the movie was the designs for the alien, space jockey, facehugger and more, done by HR Ginger, they are iconic, and amazing, and effects, they were amazing for the time, and lots still hold hope. Also, in case you didn’t know, Ridley(Or whatever the main characters name is) isn’t the true main protagonist, it is Jonsey, he saved her, and is a huge plot point in the movie.

Like the other said, Alien isn't great because of a female protagonist. However, in most movies today, the forced female hero is starting to get old. If movie makers want to take the time to build a character and add deminsion and purpose to their cause and motivation, and that character happens to be female, I'm on board. But this girl power movement just to be PC is spent. Alien did it right. Kill Bill did it right. I love the Avenger movies, but that scene at the end of End Game with all of and only the female heroes was trash. That was wokeness shoved down our throats and it was the low point of the MCU. And that's considering that there is a Captain Marvel movie and a Thor the Dark World to compare with.
