One of my good friends and I played Sleigh Ride for our HS concert, and he was the one to do the whip crack. He wore a Santa costume but that’s because he was also the narrator for a previous song, Santa The Barbarian. Fun times

We just had a slapstick made for our high school band by the wood shop teacher. It’s huge!

This year we told our guy doing the slap stick to run around and jump as he slapped it. The first time he did it was the day of the concert. He ran, he jumped, and he let go of the slapstick. It flew out of his hands and hit the floor. For the second slap, he didn’t even have the slap stick in his hands, so he just clapped really loud. Luckily he recovered and jumped for the other slaps that he had left to do.

Our percussion section has a special we play this. The people in the percussion section that don't play something for the song all go in the audience. Everytime the slapstick is played. A different person in the audience plays it. Them for the last one everyone plays it. It was the funniest thing I had ever seen.
