I am a graduate of JB Castle High School class of 1983. I have a son who is living and thriving in Kanehohe, Hawai'i, Assets Schools. Although i live in Whetstone, AZ today. Sean, thank you for this videos. My two adult sons and I just got back from 10 days on Oahu. We stayed at Aulani, but maybe 3 trips to the Windward side. We went Kualoa Ranch (UTV tour) and ate lunch Coral Kingdom, yummy! The next trip to Windward side we went to Byodhi Temple and the Botanical Gardens and we stopped by Kim Chee 1” and took advantage of the plate lunch special. This was our favorite food on our whole vacation with Broke the Mouth Grindz over by Aulani coming in 2nd (loved the purple potato salad with bacon). Thanks for the great advice.🌺🌸🌺Mahalo

Kaneohe has soooo many local grinds for sure. 😋The K-town Loco Moco with the 4th of July fireworks looked fire🔥!! Added to the list…We pass by Kim Chee I so many times and wondered about it…not wondering anymore!! Added it to the list especially with your reaction from the chicken katsu.😋Definitely affordable prices too!! Coral Kingdom is another spot we’ve passed always seeing the Huli Huli chicken outside. Cool to know it’s made Filipino style!! Never knew much about the Old Pali Hwy or the Friendship Garden but now we know!! So sorry you got picked on when you were younger but I (Michelle) can totally relate to being disciplined with the slipper but instead of the back scratcher it was a big wooden spoon!! Ouch!! Mahalo for sharing that amazing spot at the Ho’omaluhia Botanical Garden. Absolutely in love with the Ko’olau mountains!! They get more majestic and stunning every time we see them!! Check out KBayBros Fish & Ice for some amazing Poke!! Right next to Windward Mall. One of our favorite Poke spots on the island!! Also love Gotz Grindz for the variety of musubis and other Japanese dishes like their gyudon and their bentos!! 😋😋 FYI did you know Waiahole Poi Factory will be opening a second location at Windward Mall? I was born and raised in Kaneohe. Left decades ago but my brother still lives there. Still have fond memories, especially about the food. My grandmother owned an okazuya in Kaneohe and I remember going there all the time.

@@SeanKaleponi Hii Sean. don't have any pictures of her shop. That was decades ago. I looked and there's another okazu-ya in the same location now called Chi-Chan's. Before she moved there, her place was across the street from the Jack in The Box. (Is the crack seed store still there?). If I recall correctly, it was next to a medical building. My pediatrician used to have his office there. Was there in June. My mother passed away earlier I I returned for her memorial service. Kaneohe has changed but part of it is still there. Zippy's is still there as well as the Chinese restaurant next to the post office.

We ate at the Kaneohe Pancake House last week on our way to the Polynesian Cultural Center. Perfect place to stop halfway from Waikiki. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the staff was extremely friendly. I was impressed with how quickly our two groups of 6 and 7 were seated. Thanks for a great recommendation!!

It was funny because I never saw the chickens there and a family of chickens and chicks were walking toward us . Mind you this was a first time trip there so a lot of stuff was awesome for them to see . my aunty lived in Kailua when I came and I visited her after not seeing her for over thirty years and my daughter made the trip more special for us when she greeted us with lei's at the airport. Everything was amazing especially the food, I gained 6 pounds . My daughter lives on Molokai and I have family on Big island, all over 😂. Stay blessed and keep up the good videos. Great video as always Sean... I especially enjoyed "story time'. The wife and I were in Oahu this past Spring and cannot wait to make it back. Your videos inspire us to get back there sooner than we likely would otherwise. BTW... Adelas serves the best plate of food I've ever had and I've had a lot of good plates of food. Thanks for the recommendation to the Kaneohe pancake house. Had my first Moco Loco and my entire family of 6 loved theirs as well. The staff were all very nice! We also enjoy the stadium flea market to pick up souvenirs! Love watching your channel.
