When using a filter on a splitter with 2 inputs and 2 outputs: the filtered output is guaranteed to only be of the filtered material; the non-filtered output supply either of the 2 inputs, the non-filtered item always, and the filtered item when the dedicated output backs up. Got bitten by this with oil refineries on X-ray cracking. I am enjoying your channel. Take care and good luck.

excellent video! many good tips that I see lots of newer player miss. I know when I learned about tab on splitters I made a promise to myself to check every little bit of text no matter what until I knew every trick!

yeah exactly same, first one I discovered is diagonal belts 🤯 changed my game

the splitter tip i didn't know about.... diagonal lines though.....it doesn't look good, ill spend extra to have straight lines. another tip is you can manually collect large rocks on the starting planet to get early titanium before you leave the planet. you can then make hydrogen fuel cells which lasts longer than graphite. meaning you wont have to use up precious inventory space when you first go to another planet to get titanium and silicon ore. same thing with trees and bushes, you can get rare materials like organic crystals, which will give you a head start on yellow science cubes.

i very much agree that diognal lines dont look good, but sometimes in late game when you cover planets with miners, i found that i save a lot of time with diagonal belts, but i suppose now with advanced miners its a different story.

@@ayoplays6497 i use drones for long distance belts its just an absurd resource drain even if this game doesn't really have a RSS problem.

I'd use diagonal belts for long distances only. They tend to get in the way for industry, so the default (parallel to grid lines) is perfect for all industrial sites and many of the shorter connections between sites. I'd say never use diagonal unless the space covered is _at least_ 20x20 tiles and nothing will be built next to the connection in the near future.

3:55 ..... omg.... before seeing this.... i was opening the blueprint folder every single time i wanted to duplicate building with recipes and sorters... in order to get the sorters too... i had to manually click each single one...

Thanks for the tips the 'R' tip is definitely a game changer for me. Also I thought you could filter a splitter, but when I try that in game I dont know how to do it, can you tell me please? or is it a thing I must unlock first? Coming from Factorio and Satisfactoy, I got turned off when starting my Dyson sphere this week and noticing there are no pipes to transport fluids. That looks so dumb. And also every single items is a little cube with a picture on it.... why can;t it be a #d rendered object ^ That also looks dumb and very cheap.

Tip 8: I stopped doing that, it's too slow, I found a much quicker way, I can collect millions of dirt in no time with very little effort once I've unlocked foundations.

One tip I learned that blew my mind is that you can place storage on top of splitters. The storage feeds to and from the splitter directly. You can also add a drone hat to the top of the storage which makes the splitter/storage/drone setup perfect for feeding factories.

Yeah man...figured this one out about 15 hours into my 3rd game (first 2 game didnt take for me, went back to factorio). I was bitching about not having a direct way to put belts of solid materials into storage but then gave up pretty quick being a factorio player. Between that and stacking sorters my factory would look very different right now.

what i need is how to deleat items automaticly, im farming red cubes as well, hydrogen hard early sometimes, but i keep running outa storidge for refined oil, and i cant keep infinatly placing more liquid storidge, so i need to know how to deleat it automaticly

There is no such option but manually. You can stack up tanks and get rid of hydrogen manually at the beginning. Also, you can use Hydrogen as fuel.

I will add my noobie tip, you dont have to build factory + sorter + belt + sorter + storage . Just place storage 2 sqaures of the factory and sorter directly on the factory unloading into storage
