Besides Dlux, UK 3.0 and Sic were the 1st coatings I’ve ever applied to a car. Both were very easy to use. Very happy with all three. I am not brand loyal but do stick to what works. It seems a lot of people jump on the next new coating, sealant, etc when it comes out where as you are still using quality products that work.

I was using Gyeon MOHS Evo for a while, unfortunately the feedback I had off customers who maintain their own vehicles is that the cleaning abilities were not so great. I stick with Nanolex coatings now, more specifically Si3d Max. Can vouch for CQUK 3.0, that was the first coating I used and did so for a long time, excellent coating and still holds up now.

Evolved Detailing has a tonne of series with different categories, pitting products up against each other for long duration's, it's very helpful to see in real world use, Mirch and Platinum Potions have always come up trumps in all sorts of categories, very surprising since both companies are local and never get spoken about, it's amazing how they both perform against the big name products. I'd plead with people that are going to spend a lot of money, to support proven products at very affordable prices and good customer service.

I've been using the Optimum line Car Wax Opti-Seal Hyper-Seal Gloss Coat It's taken some time to nail the application for maximum performance, but the resilts have been well worth the effort. Especially with the Gloss Coat. I love that I don't have to throw away applicators / swatches or towels. I can also more easily deliver a "perfect" vehicle to my customers - something I still cant do at work, where we're using Xpel Fusion Plus Premium. The Xpel is way easier than the Ceramic Pro we were using, but I still suck at applying it... 😂 Opti-Seal made it through last winter on my mom's car that I use as a test mule. It retained the integrity of the finish, even as the water behavior trailed off. It gets washed everu onec in a while at a touchless, but the Opti-Seal was able to hang on. Car Wax wouldst have fared so well. On my beater I'll use Car Wax through the spring / summer months. The Hyper Seal is a new addition. I'm curious about it as I got some high spots with it on a vehicle I did at work yesterday. I applied it like I would Gloss Coat or Opti-Seal, letting as much of it flash away before leveling as possible. Not the slickest ypon application, but so far it seems like a winner. I have some on my truck to test through the upcoming winter months. On the truck I also have Gloss Coat, Opti-Seal, 3D Poxy, and a panel with my old top end protection package before I started using Gloss Coat - Duragloss Bonding Agent / 111, with Zymol Carbon on top. So far that on is holding up much better than the 3D Poxy, but it's a little more involved with application. I sort of miss those days where Duragloss was the king of my paint protection options, but the durability of Gloss Coat is om another level by comparison. I should also mention that I do use 3D Speed, and leave it to stand on it's own for protecting paint. Duragloss 101 is another cleaner / sealant that I like. It has super fine abrasives, but leaves a very durable finish. Not as much correction capabilities as Speed, but much longer protection. Thank you again for this video! Very entertaining and very informative!

@07wrxtr1
@07wrxtr1 Ай бұрын
@@jinxtacy Can Coat was easy if you JUST did your fresh ceramic first... but ... my girls BMW = not fun... Basically Can Coat (in my opinion) is a glorified topper - you get a lot for your money and it looks good - but I think the big thing many reviews leave out: It's a topper but more so - RIGHT AFTER you have spend several days polishing/cleaning/prepping - then standard ceramic of your choice - THEN - can coat on top to finish it off... It's one of those things: It's better than nothing - but - it would not be my first choice on a vehicle that has not been through the whole process... I would go with something easier/faster to spray on / remove - and then just have the conversation about the car needing the full process if they REALLY want Cancoat... CarPro reload is much faster/easier - and obviously is only good for a month or two - but - it would be my first choice on cars with aged ceramic coatings... and if I have a car with ZERO ceramic - I'm going with something fast/easy/simple that maybe only lasts a month but is fast/easy to apply - in that category I have enjoyed the old beadmaker - but now there are "hybrid" ceramics (marketing?) that "allegedly" last longer... I guess it depends on paint quality/use case/if the car sits outside/weather/etc...

@@07wrxtr1 Thanks for your feedback. I do polish the paint, clay, wash, IPA and use Can Coat. It's pretty rough cars, but I don't trust my two year old bottle of CQUK3.0. I just use it on the girlfriend's parents '07 Pilot because I noticed some signs of the clear weakening and wanted to delay it a bit. I'm trying it out on the MR2, but really was looking to test out the waters as I only ceramic coat wheels. I also use a suede applicator to move the product around instead of the spritzer. Realistically for my car and the gf car's I kind of like shorter term protection (usually Wolfgangs Sealant, Seal and Shine, or Meg HCW). For her parents' and sister's car I'm kind of leaning longer term protection. The maintenance on those cars are so random and they live outside in Texas and of course they're black (no one listens to me when I tell them you can't care for a black car that's not German). They think I'm insane after dinner I'll just go outside to wash their cars because I have access to them. I Think Meg's Hybrid Ceramic detailer or something like Reload to go with car washes might be the best bet on a long term protection. I think what Can Coat promises is probably okay for me to try to keep up with 5 cars.

A little question regarding the application of the 303 graphene coating: how does this coating "react" to plastic trim? Will it leave visible residue, like paste waxes/sealents, or is it ok if a little of the product gets onto it? My car has a few nasty spots with plastic trim and it makes using paste waxes too cumberson for that reason.

Cerakote rapid ceramic spray is much easier to use than Megs ceramic spray and has hydrophobic water behavior that is on the same level as JET. I keep going back to the Meguiar's ceramic sprays, both spray wax and Q.D. The wax is finicky to apply under hot daylight outdoor conditions. But it's durable and stays slick. I love the detail spray as a drying aid to finish up with the towels. Have dabbled with their ceramic trim restorer, but haven't quite gotten application techniques down pat to achieve the results I'm seeking. I will try again, though. @07wrxtr1 I can imagine how that could be. The lower window trim on my F-150 is closer to a rubberized plastic rather than hard plastic such as the wiper cowl, or my top bed rails. Nothing seems to work on the window trim except dressing, which of course runs off down over the paint after the first rainfall. 🫤

What is the most purely hydrophobic product would you say you’ve ever used?

It’s probably Nv Nova Pro ceramic coating

If durability is not an issue for me at all, should I use Boost v2 as my base & older Boost as a detailer? Can I use older Boost 3 or 4 times a week?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing 5 ай бұрын
Yes that should work well as a combination, and yes, you could really use the original Boost as often as you like.

Rooky question, on the sealants don't they require 24 hour cure time in an enclosed environment. I don't have access to something enclosed but a big canopy. Is their one that doesn't require such a long curring time. It's been awhile Sandro I hope you've been well my friend. Take care bud.

Thanks mate I’m well! Typically it’s ceramic coatings that require 24hrs of curing before getting wet, but there are products like Carpro Release you can apply over them to protect them during that period. Spray sealants actually tend to be fastest curing, some within an hour or two and more traditional sealants and waxes are usually there from a few hours to half a day. But curing times will vary from individual products.

Yes, typically you’ll start with the sealant and top it with the wax.

Does anyone here have experience or know about permagard? They are basically used by most dealerships including mercedes, porshe and so on. Is it actually a good product? I've seen videos of it being applied via a rotary and they claim 10 years of protection.

If they use it in a dealership it’s shite. Don’t fall victim that if it’s used on a commercial level in a dealership then it must be good, actually the opposite.

For spray protection Im planning to apply for twice a month. Or once a month Which product would you recommend? Turtle wax felx, sonax ceramic spray, meguiars ceramic wax, or i find sonax brilliant shine detailer is very cost effective Would you say if i only can have 1 spray lsp sonax bsd is the way to go?
@CarCraftAutoDetailing
@CarCraftAutoDetailing Ай бұрын
BSD is very durable, chemical resistant and hydrophobic, but can be difficult to apply streak free and a bit grippy in its finish - so if TWFlex is causing you application issues (as you mentioned) you may struggle even more with BSD. If you want my personal recommendation for an easy to apply spray sealant that performs really great maybe give Nv Nova Boost V2 a go.

@Messi10billy try using BSD with a damp cloth for you first wipe and a second dry cloth for your final wipe - it will help make the application easier

The Sonax will be slicker and glossier, the TW will be a little more hydrophobic and could last a little longer - it depends what you want
