Dishonorable Mention: *All of it - Son of the Mask -What we have here is worse looking and more unconvincing than every single entry on this list PUT TOGETHER! Say what you want about Green Lantern's costume, Superman's upper lip, or even Wolverine's claws in Origins, but at least they had to put SOME effort to make them look convincing. The ugly CGI in Son of the Mask make all of those entries look like Jame's Cameron's Avatar. Oh yeah, you heard me right, I went there! I can defend The Mask (1994) for its effects could work with the tone and given the time period they were present, with Son of the Mask, they look awful, unpolished, kinda scary, and out of place. @kylelavis24912 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I enjoy the content WatchMojo releases but there are three things that I don't agree with on this list, they may sound stupid in comparison to critics and such, so please remember that this is just my opionion. First, I don't agree with the pick for Ben Affleck's Daredevil. Early to mid 2000's had some shotty CGI in a few movies, sure, but I don't think it is fair to compare it to a movie that came out 10 years before it. Jurassic Park used a combination of CGI and practical effects due CGI being a relatively young and uncertain concept in the 90's. Yes, it worked for Jurassic World, had Daredevil used a little practical effects (some stunt wires and what not), I'm sure it would have been a little bit better. Secondly, I think Daredevil overall didn't have much to focus on. There was some bad CGI but there was also some poor writing in it (which is a very common problem that almost immediately destroys an actor/actress' performance regardless of delivery and talent, such as Green Lantern, Ryan Reynolds has always had incredible talent and range, but the combination of poor editing and writing destroyed that and nearly his career). With bad visuals and a bad story, viewers don't often have a choice of what to focus on that's better to try and ignore what isn't. Secondly, Black Panther. This is a tough one to defend simply because of the stellar cast alone (on top of a long list of pro's for the movie) that make defending a flaw difficult. However, I think for me personally, the reason why Panther's fight with Killmonger might have been visually off-putting could be because of the camera work/cinematography that was used to execute the visual delivery of said fight. There was another movie that used this technique in Marvel's history where it was effective and that was Spider-Man 2, where Peter and Doc Oc are fighting mid-air whilst falling from a building, interrupting Peter's attempt to save his aunt May from falling. This particular style of camera work can be effective, but it also feels very situational, in Spider-Man's case, their were civillians in the building, their was immediate danger to the public as a result of the fight and so on, however, for Black Panther, all those similarities only apply to Panther and Killmonger and no one else. Hence my thought that doing a rotation around a hero and villain fighting in mid-air should be reserved for more impactful scenarios where the tension and danger exceeds the targeted fight and spreads to other characters involved such as on-lookers and so forth. Finally... Wolverine... I know a lot of people won't like my two cents on this one but I couldn't let it go. I have been a fan of Marvel since childhood and will always think that Hugh Jackman delivered a stellar performance as Wolverine every time he needed to. But my opinion on Marvel doesn't take away from this point (which is more an issue that for some reason, it's number one on the list and not lower), I sympathise that the CGI waa bad but I don't think it deserved number one. I think the only reason it was as bad as it was, was because it was the kind of editing you had to really pay attention to for it to really be as bad as people say. In X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the bad version of Deadpool was a worse example of CGI than the claws. It was more blatant and apparent and didn't have form or attempt at blending in with the rest of the movie whereas the claws only had a problem with Hugh's hands. Secondly to this point, there was much more worse CGI in this list that could have come first, my three picks for that were Sreppenwolf, Gamma Dogs and Super Hyde. All three were so mediocrely generated and didn't even give the impression that the editor wanted to put an effort in from the start of post.

Honestly, I love Amazing Spider-Man 2 it’s awesome and Jamie Foxx is obviously an excellent actor too especially in amazing Spider-Man 2. And Paul Giamatti was possibly even better. The cgi MAY have been bad but who really cares. I love it and everyone else should too.
@icemav57402 жыл бұрын
No. No they shouldn't. Foxx is a PHENOMENAL actor but Electro was a boring and poorly written character. The CG was probably the most interesting thing about the character. Giamatti is also an excellent actor. But Rhino was probably his worst performance ever. It was genuinely horrific

Surprised that the "Gunshot to the hand closing up" scene from "The Crow" didn't make the list. I love the movie, but even when it came out, that scene was laughably bad (Even Eric is laughing in it...).

As a huge fan of DC comics characters, I agree that the DC movies have been pretty bad with only a few good ones here and there. The new Batman is awesome, at least.

Doomsday and Steppenwolf look great IMO, don't know why they are in this list. Other than that basically what we got from this is that CGI still struggles to do human motion.
