I started to put some isometric exercises into my workout and man do they work. I stopped lifting weights for a few weeks just to see if I could get some muscle soreness after isometric exercises and I sure did. My lats today feel like I gave them a huge work out and all I do was laid flat against the wall, put my arms up as if I was gonna do a lat pull and push against the wall.

@@Criticalbench Ok,I will try to remember! I've been doing isometrics on and off for 2-3 years and restarted rather recently. I'm an older lady with low energy due to blood sugar issues and it's become hard fir me to do other types of exercises so Isometrics are perfect for me. For aerobics I do the 10 min. HIIT, usually on my gazelle or using just 3 lb. dumbbells but sometimes I don't even get around to do that regularly, but the isometrics give me a chance to do "something" that I can handle more often. I may not be in "great shape" (yet!) but I believe that at least I'm doing something positive for my health.😉 P.S. Thanks for the 💜. 😊

Just a thought. I have a suggestion for those asking 'how long' to hold each of the exercises shown. I have a pool side routine, with a partner, where the length of holding the isometric exercise is tied to the time it takes your partner to swim 100 meters at a 'maintenance speed' (not to exceed 150 seconds). I think that it's just a good way to mix static-dynamic routine for either the warm-up or the recovery phase of your workout. (ps: not a professional trainer and/or sports science graduate- just someone who enjoys swimming, bodyweight exercises, and watching videos posted by Critical Bench).

I have been practicing dynamic tension exercises since 1975 along with the exercises of Mcfadden, Liederman, Breitbart, Joe Bonomo, George Jowett, Prof Ittmann, Alois Swoboda, Don Athaldo, Maxalding, 10 different isometric methodologies using the extremities of the body or with the help of walls. , hallways, door frames, squeegee, ropes and towels. , as well as the methodologies of Marlon. Birch; Ultra slow movements (super slow motion) with extreme concentration imitating and simulating the most varied movements of Karate, shot put , discus throwing, javelin throwing, archery, rope climbing, tug-of-war, chopping wood, fencing, wheat harvesting, the same movements used in the gym when lifting weights or training with machines; When you go out Unlike a 100-meter dash, boxing movements are performed ultra-slowly, always maintaining great tension and intensity in the muscle fibers. In short, there are hundreds of movements that can be simulated in a simple way by means of slow and intense movements, while the muscle groups involved remain in great excitement from beginning to end, always accompanied by correct breathing. The exercises presented in the video are performed with low muscle tension and intensity. When you don't train with resistance or load, you need to replace it with intensity and muscle stiffness to achieve great and expressive results. This is the miracle of conscious exercises and movements performed very slowly. Finally, I created 140 new exercises and I mastered 70 different methodologies to do a total of 260 self-resistance exercises. (Self-resistance exercises). When I do push-ups on the floor or between two or three chairs, I also use the strength of my legs. In all types of exercises performed in foot, regardless of the methodology, the legs are always involved, present, conscious, under tension and do not only serve as passive support for the upper body. In this way, even if you train the upper body, the lower body is also involved and strengthens. This is called Grounding.

I put the playback speed at 2.0 so I may have missed the ROTATOR CUFF isometrics. You know, elbow by the side, elbow at right angle and push your hand out and away from the body and the reverse of pulling the hand in towards the middle of the body. Did I also miss the lateral raise to the side? While you're in the doorway, put your arms down by your sides and against the door jamb and push. There's usually a reverse exercise that can be done for such exercises, too. But, that # 5 and Superman # 6 are killers for me.
