When I first played Arkham City, I almost had a heart attack when I fought Mr. Freeze and realized I couldn’t use the same strategy twice. That fact alone made him my favorite boss fight of the Arkham series

Doc Ock in 2018 was great. But I would've swapped it for God Of War's Baldur fight. It was such an epic fight, with many different stages, cinematics out Of this world and a great payoff storywise.

Bloodborne was my introduction to the SoulsBorne series and man were those first few hours playing it, extremely maddening lol it took me about 4-6 hours to figure out the battle mechanics, parrying and strafing. enemy encounters became easier once i got the hang of it. the moment the game became more interesting and completely pulled me in is when the more nightmarish creatures started appearing. i was already in awe of the games visuals for it's world design but the designs for those monstrosities blew me away and inspired me to bust out my pencils and sketchbook. if i gave up before getting the hang of the gameplay mechanics i would have missed out on one of the best games from the 2010's

Totally agree. He was the one that gave me the most difficulties in the game. He's good and distance and close combat. Ha can also counter attack which is a real pain and was Batman's speciality. After fighting him, you know how your enemies feel when they fight you.

For 2018 I would have picked Slave Knight Gael instead of Doc Ock. That fight is probably the most EPIC in all of gaming imo! The blood chilling music, breathtaking arena, insane visual spectacle, and engrossing lore make for a TRULY unforgettable boss battle! The ONLY boss that I like more than Gael is Isshin The Sword Saint and that is saying A LOT!

My only issue I’ve ever had with Doc Oc in Spider-Man, not just the game everything he’s been in. The second the Doc gets his arms, he can some how take punch after punch from a superhuman with literal super strength. Just never made sense to me, he didn’t get any powers besides his arms. Otto would be destroyed by one punch, especially since his body is already failing him. Love me some Spider-Man and Doc Oc, regardless.

There is actually very little way to make a boss harder than Malenia besides just being bullshit, she's already at the limit imo. Hell, no boss ever left me hopeless of beating them after 1 hour. I always end up beating the boss within an hour but with her I barely got into her phase 2 after an hour. To this day, only 3 bosses took me 2 hours to beat, Malenia solo, Fatalis solo and Isshin. Only these three and Malenia killed me vastly more times than both in that 2 hours. Plus, the hardest dlc bosses in Fromsoft games are for the most part about the same difficulty as the hardest vanilla boss of the same game in my experience. Nameless king=Friede, O and S=Manus. Only in bloodborne and ds2 the dlc bosses were harder and there was really only 1 boss in each that stood above the vanilla ones imo (Orphan and Fume knight)

He is described as being incredibly intelligent, beloved by all and insanely resourceful and that imo is what makes him the most fearsome to her. The elden beast was about to get clapped by Godfrey if we hadn't arrived... Malenia herself wouldn't beat the Elden beast, but her being resurrected and becoming even more powerful would absolutely clap the elden beast if she were to be in the shoes of Godfrey or the tarnished. In lore imo it goes like that; Prime Maliketh> Malenia, Goddess of rot=Maliketh in game> Godfrey=Prime Radahn> Elden beast=Placidusax Malenia, blade lf Miquella> etc We don't know where Godwyn stands or where the gloam eyed queen stands but they were probably amongst the top. We'll see if they appear in the dlc (god I hope so)

For 2015, the boss fight that has stayed with me is Oryx in Destiny: The Taken King. The start of the fight is insane, the music is perfect, and the fight is extra special as you (the character) killed Oryx’s son in The Dark Below dlc, with Oryx’s goal to seek out and kill you being the whole point of this campaign. One of the only video game villains where their goal is justifiable revenge.

The fact that not a single fight from Monster Hunter is in this list, much less Fatalis (final boss of MHW:Iceborne) is actually a crime. Capcom makes some enemies incredibly difficult and cinematic with its most recent entries in the franchise specifically, on pair with FromSoft's Dark Souls Bosses, in some cases even better and harder. For the year 2016, I think any of the Dark Souls 3 bosses should've been on this list. Slave Knight Gale came out in 2017's DLC, but for this one, I'd pick the Nameless King from the main game. The boss oozes spectacle, he has incredible lore and he is a vicious mf. I am sad they didn't pick this one instead of Doom's Cyberdemon. Good bossfight but Nameless King he ain't.

Sword Saint Isshin is the GOAT boss. He actually mentors and befriends you before dying. He has no interest in being your enemy until it was his grandson's dying wish. In his dying moments, he compliments you and is gracious in his only defeat besides natural causes.

Sigrun can be cheesed with the frost laser and strong gear, while also sadly being a harder version of a boss we have fought 8 times alread, downplaying how awesome she is. Doc Ock had more narrative weight and none of the faults of Sigrun, so having played both I’d make the same decision

Dock Ock was not a better boss fight and who cares about ,, narrative weight ,, its a boss fight not a boss movie and as somebody who did both fights Sigrun is definitely a better boss fight , so I would not make the same decision .

In 2020 you should've mentioned Yozora instead. A well designed mega fight that'ssuper challenging but fair. Also, how the hell you put Malenia in 2022? She's NOT a good boss. Her Waterfowl Dance move doesn't feel like it was designed for Elden Ring's mechanics (maybe for Sekiro).

I love Lady Maria to death but I genuinely think Ludwig is the best boss in the entire game. Once you get good at parrying Maria becomes a cakewalk.

Personally I think Orphan is better than Ludwig . Ludwig would be n2 for me and Maria n3 and yes parrying her makes her a lot easier for sure but p2 for Ludwig is easier than p1 imo while for Orphan p2 is much harder and he just goes ape sh!t .

@@austinconway3918 Yeah so ? Combining them made her the best and most difficult boss . The Stranger had spectacle and a few moves and that is it . Mechanics > spectacle any day of the weak . NG+ made her fight even better as it added more difficult attacks and fighting her at lvl 1 gear means you could not parry her as she was much higher level than you were which made her much harder .

@@austinconway3918 First of all why does that matter . Second of all its still not the stranger if we use that ,, excuse ,, . Baldur ( final boss ) was better , Magni and Modi were better . The Stranger had like 2-3 attacks , it was literally just a cinematic fight that made it memorable in any way otherwise the fight itself was quite boring . And I really don't get why what you wrote on Sigrun should matter , she was the culmination of all the attacks you have seen besides the add summoning but this time you had to deal with all the attacks of every valkyrie all in 1 which made her have a big moveset of more than a dozen different attacks . She was literally the penultimate boss of the game , all the valkyries before were training you for this fight so you know the moves but that is easier said then done when she can use any of them whenever she wants which changes the dynamic of the fight compared to the previous ones .
