The level of detail in this game is awesome too. Like okay, Devilman has this special attack in lore that deals more damage to characters depending on the darkness in their heart. You use it on Gohan or Arale and it does NOTHING. Use it on Frieza and it fucking obliterates him.

Honestly FOR me, this was the last DBZ Game I really enjoyed. Burst Limit looked pretty but was meh to me, Raging Blast 1 and 2 ehhh didnt really dig them Ultimate Tenkaichi I hated Xenoverse 1 and 2 I didnt have that much fun playing and TRIED to damndest to like em but they were meh to me, Tho I played Naruto Ninja Storm 2-4 which were badass TO ME Hopefully Dragon Ball FighterZ I'll find fun, havent played the Beta yet but for the 1st time in....Damn 10 years I'm excited a DBZ gae

Arm Mar42 Raging blast 3 for me please. Kinda sad how xenoverse basically did everything it's predecessors could worse. Giant roster but with either bullshit moves (i mean come on just look at nail's back hit) or meaningless characters (why are cell jrs even bad? They absolutely wrecked the z gang). No cool attack-cutscenes (for me it's a con) and unusable ultimates except if you break your foe's stamina (which is like the dumbest thing ever cause you're always decimated afterwards). And i will never understand why they removed combos. It's cool how you can blend supers into the mix but i want more than my 3 different attacks. It's best feature is customization which i can't really say anything against

Dragonball fighters is good, I had a chance to play it at EGX but it is a very different beast to boudokai, its far more like BlazeBlue or persona 4 arena.

Even though i get were people are comming from with, every character feels the same. This game has so much flavor and detail, androids 19, super 17 and gero can absorb ki blasts, goku can charge the spirit bomb over and over for a one hit kill, tien can tri beam for days, burter feels super fast and specials are some of the best moments of the characters in the show

It's got so much cool strategy and mindgames when you get used to it. Like Goku's instant teleportation for example. The opponent is always on edge when you've got it at your disposition.

I've never played it, but from the footage I've seen, isn't it pretty much just a BETTER Budokai 3 with added content? The only thing I know they removed is the Dragon Rush and that red aura mode used to activate it and Ultimates, both of which I think are a positive thing because they were annoying. On top of that I know it has a bunch of mini-games (which may or may not be good) and at least 2 extra characters. It's also the ONLY game where you can play as Vegeta in his GT outfit if I'm not mistaken, even Tenkaichi 3 didn't have that, and I'm pretty sure Final Bout didn't either actually, oddly enough. On top of that I know it has actual animated cutscenes for the story mode, which is always fun. Budokai 3's story was the weakest one, it was just mostly static images with text bubbles and VO.

BT2 had a better story mode, and genuinely more content. (And better music) But BT3 polished up the battle system and had better gameplay. Less 'stock' move, and although sometimes hard to find, more variety in character playstyle. It's hard. But I value the gameplay over the other modes. As such BT3 wins for me. Take BT2 story + content with BT3s battle polish and you'd get an even more fantastic game,

They hinted at it, but one of the highlights of this game is the side modes: you can take part in in-game tournaments that reference the series, the story mode has an entire branch of missions dedicated to both the movies and What-Ifs, and you cam even hunt for the Dragon Balls themselves to unlock stuff in it!

@@zendo4403 As I recall Tenkaichi 2 was better when it came to story mode/cinematic, but Tenkaichi 3 beat it in every other category, and also had the what-if scenarios if you won before you were supposed to. But yeah, it's kind of insane that they've never been remastered or at the very least ported. I feel like I hear way more people casually mention the Tenkaichi games over Budoaki (though Budokai 3 is regarded as one of the best still), and yet those were the ones that got remastered, granted maybe they didn't sell well and that's why they didn't bother doing Tenkaichi, I'm not sure.

The controls for the Wii really added to my enjoyment of the game. Having to move the remotes like Goku when I wanted to do a Kamehameha wave was a blast! Not to mention the Special Beam Cannon, Solar Flare, Final Flash, etc. Such a blast to play.

I just found a good used copy of it sold for one dollar, with a ton of scratches, seller said the game didn't work. Resurfaced the disc and voila! I got Budokai 3 for under 5 bucks. Now if only I can grab a copy of Tenkaichi 3.

It's my favorite. I love how there are beam struggles and that stronger characters charge their ki slower for balance. And the absolute best is how it includes many characters that I loved to see more of but who had small parts in the series. King Cold, King Vegeta, Fasha, Cui, the various Dragonball characters, Future Gohan, Babidi, Spopovitch, Dabura, they all added a lot to me. A shame that we won't ever get most of those characters in a DBZ game again, they'd probably fill it up with the lame characters that Super added instead. I'd prefer it if they just made a tenchaichi 4 and ignored Super. Just improve the graphics some and add more characters to this already impressive roster. The rest of Burdock's team, Kid Vegeta, Paragus, The Spice boys, Kami, King Chappa, Master Shen, Yamu, Teen Goten and Teen Trunks as they are at the end of Z, more of the henchmen from the movies, and a Namekian with several variations, similar to the Frieza soldier. Aside from that they could also give super saiyan transformations to the saiyans that did not get them.

This was probably my favorite Dragon Ball game ever. Not only does it have this large roster of different characters and stages to go to and the expansive mechanics added, but its story mode was also amazing! You got to play through the entire series from the start of Z to the end of GT, as well as movies and some parts of Dragon Ball that could be unlocked. In addition, the addition of the what-if mode was just amazing as well. It was fun to play through and gave fans pause to let their imaginations run wild to see the full potential of the Dragon Ball universe. That is not even mentioning the best part of the story: the iconic moments. You could, with a single button, recreate iconic moments in a fight by clearing the conditions needed to create the moment, such as weaken Raditz with Goku or be using a certain character. You got to see the transformations, attacks, finishers, and more, and it was just amazing that it happened in the middle of the fight by having a cutscene triggered that would affect the fight in the end.

That was legit one of my favorite games just because of this Co-op. I'd bring my friends over after I unlocked all of the combos. Then we would tag team people in the best ways because we knew how to link our combos. Like the throw+ultimate combo. Or the roundhouse+ultimate combo.

This was the last good DBZ game, and tbh, it's competitively viable too with lots of skill based mechanics like z-counters, just frame teleport dogdes, sways, just frame button release unblockables. It's a very good mix of offence and defense. Put this in a fighting game tournament and matches would be hype af.

Best fighting game I ever played. Best gameplay so far too. The insane amount of sequences and combos you can make in this game is over 9000. It's gets even more amazing when you play against someone who knows how to play too.

This is so much the best for me for the insane lever of detail it has. Every single character's fist, kick or pose is taken from the anime and you can recognize it. I remember learn by heart every combo and technique for each character. It's so amazing the durability of this game for a diehard fan of Dragonball

Jabberwockxeno But its literally just Budokai 3. In fact, that game only existed for those that didnt transition to 7th Gen, and couldnt play Burst Limit. Which, is weird, because Budokai 3 was already around. Seemed like a waste of dev time that couldve went to Burst Limit. In fact, Infite World probably explains why Burst Limit had bits like SSJ2 Goku, Mecha Frieza & King Cold in cutscenes, but were never playable.
