At the same time, whenever Sweet Tooth gets the opportunity by Calypso, he can make such a wish that there is no way for Calypso to refuse it. Like in Head-On, when he asks Calypso to switch bodies with him and then Calypso (and ST's body) ends up dead.

What makes Goku Black vs Reverse Flash's death scene more brutal was that Goku Black was still in Rose form after being dragged on the ground. Reverse Flash didn't just throw a lifeless corpse into the sun, Goku Black felt ALL OF THAT.

Personally would have included Trunks' death on here. There's just so many things that sent that one for me. Hedge of Tomorrow's final climatic lyric, screaming in the back, Trunks struggling to hold on, screaming as his very existence crumbles, Silver's awesome line read. It was even fairly inventive, with Silver at first trying to simply use Trunks' own finisher against him, but when that wasn't working, he sealed the deal by pushing it through with his own psychokinesis, sending the blow just far enough that it broke Trunks out of his super form.

Honestly, I agree with your number one (at the time you made this. Nowadays, billcord's death was an absolute peak from the context alone). I love the somber tone magneto carried after realizing that Tetsuo wasn't simply a brat, but something that's rather common among mutants; a child cursed by having power forced upon him.

Yes, there have been actual X-Men stories were mutant children died due to their powers being like curses to them. This fight fits with the source material so damn well. I feel that I've been more crotical of the emotional endings those last couple of seasons kept pulling off than the average fan, but goddamn, Magneto vs Tetsuo's ending is the one I have nothing negative to say for.

My top five favorite deaths (so far): 5. Super Friends Aquaman: A death with an ending that felt so emotionally heartbreaking and heartwarming. Seeing SpongeBob softly crying as Aquaman disintegrates makes me feel for my favorite childhood cartoon character. Then SpongeBob drew the grave which was a heartwarming way to honor someone that he was able to relate to in a way even though he got the name wrong. Plus, I love the fact that the grave references the ending tune for the first SpongeBob movie and Switty Werben Yaegermanjensen. HE WAS NUMBER ONE!! 4. Silver Samurai: I may not have any emotional connection to either Shredder or Silver Samurai, but this death is too well constructed to ignore and is easily one of the most awesome and brutal deaths in any media! Playtime is indeed over. 3. Afro Samurai: One of the most suspenseful, shocking, and amazing climaxes to any fight! The one stroke duel is so gorgeous and made such with perfect suspense that it genuinely needs to be studied on how to write suspense. The brutal screams of pain from both combatants is so goddamn chilling, the art is beautiful, and the "Omae wa mo shinderu" moment at the end tie it all together to make it one of the best deaths in the series. 2. Goku Black: Talk about creatively cruel and brutal! This death is so good and just narrowly made it to number 1 for me despite the fact that GB vs RF is my favorite episode of Death Battle. Thawne being such a troll is hilarious and amazing here and the brutality on display is so intense in ways that me cringe while also making me feel hyped about how cool all of it looked. Combine that with that powerful YEET into the sun to cause a supernova and you get one of my favorite deaths in any media. Also, Thawne's shit-eating grin and him fading away like that one with the black guy doing the peace sign but replacing it with the middle finger is so funny! 1. Alucard: Wow, my second favorite episode also has my favorite death. Funny how that works. Anyway, this one is so perfect to me. The build-up of that final charge towards each other only for DIO to stop time and get behind Alucard to rip out his heart and crush it was great enough as is, but it just kept going. The Muda Muda barrage leading into a final punch that causes Alucard to explode into raining blood combined with DIO's guttural WRY of victory made this death so goddamn satisfying to watch. The build-up and payoff with the music also adds to this so much that it makes me want to join in with DIO when he does Muda Muda rush and a WRY at the end! Tom Shalk's phenomenal voice acting for DIO adds to this even further to the point that I believe that Tom Shalk's DIO is better than the Japanese voice for DIO!! The detail, the suspense and build-up, DIO clutching his hand in front of Big Ben to represent how time is in his grasp to control, and the "To Be Continued" meme to say "The End" instead come together with everything else I just mentioned to make this my favorite death in all of Death Battle!

I understand why it wasn't on the list but it does make me a bit sad that Leo versus Jason didn't make it. There's nothing really that much to it but as a huge fan of Power Rangers especially Mighty Morphin it was nice to see the Power Rangers franchise finally get a win. I really love how Leo tried his best one last time before going out but Jason was too much and easily overpowered him. Also it made me smile how they made Leo die like every other way an enemy of the Power Rangers die: huge, unnecessary but cool as heck over the top explosion.

Okay, so the topic of best deaths is a difficult one for me to decide, but I have a couple. SpongeBob vs Aquaman. This episode kinda just stole the thunder of so many other great endings with what I consider the best climax of the entire show. The two declaring their worth as they charge like All Might vs Might Guy, Aquaman’s tear jerking moment that surpasses Saitama vs Popeye, and the post deatb tribute that makes me cry harder than Tanjiro vs Johnathon. That final shot of the grave is probably my favorite shot of the series. Dante vs Bayonetta- to be blunt, I don’t know how you missed this. This should have been too 10 easy. The Devil Trigger and Umbrian Climax battling it out, Dante Royal Gaurding Madame Butterfly and killing her with Yamato, the phenomenal fake out, and the brutal finisher, with Bayonetta getting stabbed by Lucifer several times before being blown up by that rose. It’s so good. It’s one of my favorite endings to an episode and one of the many reasons that it is in my top 5 ever. Deadpool vs Mask: I legit thought you would talk about this one, considering how much you love this episode. But to summarize, Deadpool’s musical number is fantastic, the hits syncing with the music is amazing, the death is as over the top as it needs to be, and Deadpool’s final line just says so much in just two words. Again, an easy candidate for the top 10. Anyways, fantastic vid, interesting perspective on Tetsuo’s death, can’t wait for the Season 9 vid.

The only problem I have with the Dante vs Bayonetta death scene is that Dante says “bullseye” instead of “jackpot” since he already said jackpot earlier in the episode. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t recall him ever saying bullseye whereas jackpot is so intertwined with Dante’s character that it’s hard not to think of him when you say that word. It’s more of a nitpick but I think it would’ve been a little better that way

So a point in why Lucario was able to beat Renamon. The Pokémon vs Digimon DB was two pairs going against each other: Charizard and his trainer vs Agumon and his human partner. One the other hand, Lucario vs Renamon came off more as a wild Lucario vs a partnerless Renamon, as her partner from Tamers, Rika, was nowhere to be found, and I fully believe that we'd have gotten a VERY different outcome in that regard if Renamon had been able to Digivolve even to her Champion level, since we saw that Rookie level Digimon struggle to keep up with the output of a fully evolved Pokémon. Unfortunately, it's shown in multiple seasons that Digivolution needs a partner to happen in the heat of battle, which this Renamon lacked

I never even watched Magneto vs. Tetsuo before watching this video. It's a great death, though I feel like I can't appreciate it as much considering I don't know jack about Akira. And Shredder vs. Silver Samurai is just too incredible to take away from my #1 (although Aquaman vs. Spongebob is such a great battle and death for subverting expectations of a one-sided sweep, also making Super Friends Aquaman a badass for a short but so sweet moment).

Here's my top 5 favorite deaths Number 5 Renamon: I don't care what people say I really like this episode and they did a really good job at making the fight seem close. Seeing Lucario being put on the back foot then proceeds to power through the diamond storm like a champ was so cool. Then Lucario stabs Renamon through the throat with his bone, and what makes it more chilling is that Renamon is trying desperately to hang on by a thread but to no avail. Number 4 Silver Samurai: Once again the animators did a great job making fight seem close with neither combatant being able to land a solid hit, but when Harada managed to find an opening you think its all over. Shredder then proceeds to use the Mutagen which is in character for him then Shredder proceeds to karate chop Silver's arms off then punches his sword towards him and it immediately cuts to black with a lone shot of Harada's helmet hitting the ground. Shredder then does a quick decapitation and crushes Harada's head in his hand and it is quite possibly one of the goriest deaths in the shows history. I actually didn't know that the post credit scene of Shredder putting the helmet on Harada's sword was meant to symbolize honoring a worthy foe at the time the episode dropped. Number 3 Goku Black: Its pretty obvious that I love this episode to death and both characters are portrayed extremely accurately with Black's god complex and Thawne being a petty troll. Anyway the death is also extremely satisfying with Thawne's smug face being as big a meme as the time huh line in the community and Black still has my favorite death scream of the show and even crazier is that Black is still alive as he hasn't reverted to base form, but that doesn't stop Thawne from throwing his corpse into the sun so fast that it causes a supernova. Number 2 Afro Samurai: I won't go into depth into why this episode is a masterpiece, all that I can say is that it is the animation is truly spectacular. Jack losing his arm was definitely one of the most brutal moments in the show and I also thought that Jack was done for, then it pans to Afro who lost both arms and Jack wastes no time and ends it quickly and you even see Jack wearing the Number 1 headband at the end while the Samurai Jack theme plays it out. Also when this episode came out I had zero knowledge of either character, but years later I did binge watch all of Samurai Jack and I absolutely loved it. Number 1 Super Friends Aquaman: This is definitely my favorite episode of Season 9 as a fan of Spongebob. The climax really hits you like a truck with Aquaman breaking down crying saying he's the lamest version in the multiverse and Spongebob motivates him even saying the various insults thrown at him in the first Spongebob movie which is completely in character for him. The ending is of course extremely emotional with Spongebob crying while holding Aquaman who goes out saying they should be super friends and Spongebob draws a grave for him which is really wholesome as it shows that Aquaman may have been a joke to most people, but he managed to be a real hero to some one and he was number 1 and I'm not going to lie this ending actually made me emotional the first time I saw it.

You know your comment on copyright is on point. Alphabet really did screw that up. What they should have done with the market power that they have is approached the record companies and say something along the lines of Look you have huge catalogs of songs. How long does the average song remain relevant? How many songs are essentially forgotten that get brought back buy movies such as a Quentin Tarantino film or Guardians of the Galaxy? When video creators use your music think of it as free advertising, and bringing your song back into the collective zeitgeist. And it could be profitable for everyone. This is what we're proposing. Say that there's a 10-minute video, and for 2 minutes of that one of your songs is being used. Instead of taking all of the revenue for the entire video, which of course will incentivize creators to never use your music. How about you take half the revenue for the period of time that your song is playing. Yes initially that would be less then taking the revenue for the full 10-minute video. However that particular creators never going to use your music again, so that's a one-time windfall and then you will never see those revenues again. Plus that song just became a little bit more obscure, which means fewer profits in the broader Market. By splitting the revenue with the Creator only for the time your song is playing, you let the Creator continue to make their money. They take a little bit less for the time that your song is playing. You get a profit. And there's no significant disincentive of them using your music again in the future. So you get exposure, that you're being paid for. Creators may look up obscure songs that fit particular moods, and you get a revenue stream along with exposure. Or, we can put in a copyright system that will in a Draconian fashion punish every creator that uses even a few seconds of your copyrighted songs. And you can essentially disappear off the most popular video streaming platform on the planet. One decision is intelligent, and the other one is dumb. Please don't be dumb or your shareholders are going to be quite upset. That is what alphabet should have done way back in the mid-to-late 2000s as soon as they took control of KZbin. Instead we have our current situation where old videos that were perfectly fine for years are suddenly in violation, and creators are having to go to a great deal of effort to avoid using good music rather than promoting it. Even incidental music that's in the background can cost you revenues. And that's just dumb. But hey, look at what Elon Musk is finding at Twitter and you find out that these companies have overwhelming percentages of employees that have absolutely no understanding of business, and only wish to the activists and drink lattes. It's a shame that Elon Musk can't take control of alphabet, and hasn't been hired by our government to go through our governmental agencies. I would make you a bet that we can eliminate ninety-plus percent of government jobs, and the only people would notice or the people who currently have those jobs.

I feel like Sabrewolf's death is the ending to Beast vs Goliath done right in terms of the characters personality and how far the animation has come since season 2. Personal mention from season 9 Michael Myers I was hoping for a brutal death no matter who won and it delivered.

My top 5 5. Scarlet Witch: so what if the episode had some problems I thought the death was a nice idea given Zatana’s concept of her putting on a show and the intimidation. 4. Lex (1st death): didn’t care about this episode at first until I rewatched it and loved how cool the build up was. 3. Saitama: not the best emotional death thanks to Tetsuo’s death, but still has a good build up and it ending with Popeye singing. 2. Super friends aquaman: again a great build up with a typical disintegration death. 1. Homelander: an episode that made me watch the boys and Invincible, and the death was vicious as hell and in character for Omni man given he is doing it over Mark.
