I’ve been playing through the most recent rpgs. Persona 3 reload, FF7 Rebirth. Shin magami tensei V Vengeance. Like a dragon infinite wealth. And Metaphor Refantazio. The RPGs have been amazing this year and one of the best years for JRPGs in general they are all so much fun to play and innovative the stories are great as well. As a fan of JRPGs I’m happy! They’re so good and long as well.

Im 25 hours into Metaphor Refantazio and it's honestly one of the best games I've ever played. The narrative is amazing, it's very creative, and it's social systems and side activites are more fun than Persona to me. I'm thoroughly impressed and blown away. Most I've enjoyed a game since Rdr2 I think.

Currently playing Black Myth Wukong - still early on, only Chapter 2, but I can’t believe how much I’m enjoying it. Gameplay draws inspiration from many different games but there’s definite heavy inspiration from FromSoft games. As someone who enjoys SoulsBorne games in spite of their boring combat, I’m having so much fun with the combat here. I was surprised to hear it called basic in this video - it’s so much deeper and more complex than Souls games (excluding Sekiro if you’re including that). I tire from the Souls formula of dodge roll, dodge roll, dodge roll, find opening, run in and get 2 or 3 hits in, then start dodging again, over and over. Wukong has so much more going for it - the parry mechanic of a heavy attack mid combo that’s charged by light attacks alone is a game changer. Level design is definitely lacking and doesn’t compare to something like Elden Ring - it’s basically a boss rush mode, but thankfully most of the bosses (so far) are very well designed and there’s a ton of them. 107 I think? Bosses plus the combat plus the progression also being top tier has made the game an absolute blast. I’ve heard it drops off a bit in the late game but so far it’s incredible. Apparently I love Jake & Gameranx enough to leave a game review that nobody asked for as a KZbin comment. How’s that for engagement! You might find BMWK's combat mechanic a bit boring if you have played games like Nioh 2, Nioh 2 is just so much more refined and sophisticated. Despite having many bosses, many of them are mediocre, also hitboxes on some big bosses are quite bad, that's why the overall experience is only a 7.5/10 for me.

I've played a decent amount of these games and every single one deserved their credit. Even Senua's Saga which was brilliant... just couldn't get the frame rate up on my laptop. Had to play on a different PC. This sucks because I do 16 hr night shifts watching a gate. It's not exactly mesmerising work. Video games keep me sane and I was really looking forward to the solo immersive experience with Senua's Saga. I had to share it...and I didn't want to. Edit: Sue me. My other half doesn't like gaming. Still Wakes The Deep made up for it though 😊 That was a short but sweet, utterly immersive BANGER. Loved it!👌

These reviewers try to their best to pick out critical stuff because that's their job, but don't let it persuade you because a lot of good games that get bad reviews just aren't that bad

Banishers is like if bioware still had choices that actually matter in their games. The fact that banishers looks that damn good and being a double a game is impressive. Only other game I legitimately thought looked great despite being a AA game is Greedfall which I loved btw. It’s such a shame that Greedfall 2 will be turn based. I’ve tried Baldurs gate 3 so many times but unfortunately I just can’t seem to stay on that game and that’s also because I’m simply not looking forward to combat encounters like I am in other action RPGs like Final Fantasy 16. It’s not a bad game but just not for me and it sucks that Greedfall a game I enjoyed a lot switched combat styles therefore somewhat alienating fans like me who were genuinely invested in this world and it’s characters and unique lore.

I pulled plain arms off a gi joe figure and man it was a pain to get right on the wolverine but it fixed the arm length issue. I had to cut off the ball joint from the original arms, dremel a hole into the gi joe arm peg and ball joint, run a rod through to connect them and glue it and it worked excellently. A little tedious but matches perfectly

Great list i would say the Fave games of the year for me were Banishers ghosts of New Eden, Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, Black Myth Wukong, And Dragons Dogma 2. I probably would give my goaty to Dragons Dogma 2 followed closely by Black myth Wukong. HIghly recoment those they are amazing!!

Metaphor is easily the best game that came out this year and one of my favorite games of all time honestly. It's incredible. I'm not a huge jrpg fan and it fixes all issues I have had with other ones. The combat system if fun and you can adjust difficulty to be as forgiving as you want plus no random encounters. That battle theme also SLAPS. The world is also very compelling. I could go on and on. I love it so much.

If you liked Hollow Knight, get Nine Sols. It is incredible and I would say is on par with Hollow Knight. If you love parry mechanics that are punishing for missing the timer, get Rise of the Ronin. There is a lot of depth to the combat with a steep learning curve.
