Whoever wrote the script for this video is pretty darn clueless about mountain biking. It's embarrassing to the industry.

When you get paid to make a video pretending you know about mtb
@Later_Nerd Жыл бұрын
If you're reading this, the person in the video has absolutely no clue about mountain bikes. With that said the CO-OP bikes are solid. They are made by REI. Under $1000 though I would look into a Virus Nucleus or a Diamondback Sync'r. Marin and Trek also have some options under $1000 and are very well established brands.

Please go elsewhere for your bike information. This person/people have no clue what they are talking about. Go to any actual bike site to get decent information, and steer clear of this KZbin channel.

Wish bike companies would keep 26ers alive. I actually sold my 29er and tricked out my 26er. My 26er is so much more nimble and fun on the trails and not much different in rolling or climbing. And it's funny shredding the 29er boys on my 26er.
@iwontreplybacklol7481 Жыл бұрын
Not much different in rolling? Lol, u smokin crack. To me, the difference is very noticeable when the trails get chunky and rutted. No comparison. 29er it is boiz

So can these be used for downhill?
@tantaloss86822 жыл бұрын
Yes. You can use them for that. But you REALLY shouldn't. I've personally bombed down some serious downhill trails on my cheap mtb hardtail (because it is all I have right now) without having to call any ambulances. However, in comparison to a good downhill focused full suspension mtb (which are always more expensive), with these hardtails without even much travel in the front by comparison it will be significantly easier to be jostled out of control, crash, and maybe die. I won't recommend you try bringing a hardtail down any downhill jump trail or a techy rock garden, but it can be done safely if you're a legitimately good and well practiced rider. If this reply sounds like I'm just trying to scare you into not having fun, it's because I think you very well should be scared and because that fear may help keep you alive when you do decide to ignore me and take one of these bikes onto trails where they aren't well suited. I did have a lot of fun and bruises from those downhill rides on my hardtail tho. It can be done without dying. It's just a lot harder to not die.

I would say none of these bikes are remotely good for proper downhill MTB tracks (unless you’re going really slowly). If you want to get into DH riding properly, get a full sus. On a cheap hardtail (like these) you’ll be able to ride moderate/ relatively flat terrain with a few bumps with ease but more gnarly stuff will not be fun. I rode a hardtail when I was younger and didn’t need a full sus, but when I got my first full sus, I realised they are a world apart and it unlocks so much more stuff you can do on an MTB.

Everything functions properly kzbin.infoUgkxHL1v1R3NE5x4KiYfyt8dnQmyNYz7qi5L Nothing was damaged in the box aside from a decal on the fork. The decal was missing a piece of a corner but I ended up peeling them off anyways. Assembly is easy BUT make sure you tune up the derailleurs. Both the front and rear need adjusting. I'd advise going to a bike shop but I opted out and put in 10+ hours with the help of KZbin. Ended up fraying a shifter cable but all in all I learned from the experience. The Brakes work well but the front caliper needs adjusting or at least mine did because the rotor was rubbing against the pads. Make sure you swap out the seat, grips, and pedals. For the short run you'll be fine though. I've read that this bike isn't built yet for hard trails but I just need it for the city. PA has some of the worst roads and being in a mountain this was a great choice. Worth the investment!
