Swagg, I also bought that Silver Surfer run as a kid, off the rack from issue #1, and still have my copy too. Loved it. Have a great Thanksgiving.

Sanity has been solid haven't read 3 yet but you really know how to give characters their own voice. I was just buying to support at first but then I realized you can write a compelling story. Thoroughly have enjoyed it.

Nice video, happy T-day swag. I loved Lee’s comics - sure wish he kept the brick & mortar store open for back issue browsing. Those were the good old days.

The comic books that stand out for me are: 1. The DC 50 and 60 cent 100 pagers, especially the one’s featuring Batman. They were great because they had a full new story, and reprints from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s so you got the history of the character and/or an introduction to old character's, but were new to you. 2. Jim Shooter and Cary Bates, along with Mike Grell on The Legion of Super Heroes. Great costume redesign on Saturn Girl, not so much on Cosmic Boy. Sure their goofy, but I loved them. 3. Tie - Chris Claremont/John Byrne X-Men run. As I was in my mid teens at the time it was the perfect comic for me. Neil Gaiman’s Sandman, as that got me back into comics after a few years of being out of the hobby.

My list: Fantastic Four (vol.1) #200 - first book I got as part of a gift subscription (1978) Star Wars (vol. 1) #7 - first book I bought for more than cover price in a comic book store (also 1978) Giant-Size X-Men #1 - bought this from a co-worker for peanuts - first "never thought I would ever own this" book (2001)

Thankful for another great topic and video. Happy Thanksgiving everyone! Tops 3 books I'm thankful for Devil Dinosaur 8 oldest book I own that I bought new off the rack And one of 4 issues that survived a fire that claimed my early collection. West Coast Avengers 5 first issue I bought when I started back collecting comics in the mid '80s Daredevil 1 I bought for 10 bucks in 1986 in a shop in Tampa called the Green Shift! Those are my current top 3 thankful books Thank you again for getting me emotional about comics today for the right reasons 😊

Before I was a dumb adult I was a dumb kid. My dumb kid brain thought Marvel Presents #1 was Wolverine #1. It was the first time I bought a book that didn't come off a spinner rack and Im thankful to still have MY "wolverine #1"

You need to have that Darkhawk #1; regraded into a *19.6 grade* (since each cover is a 9.8). 😉 The 3 comics books that mean the most to me are: *Avengers #18* - first comic I ever held, my mom bought it for me for a penny at a flea market, to keep me busy while she looked at the stuff there. I remember looking at the pictures, and 'trying' to read (was almost 5); it was when I also fell in love with the idea of being patriotic (like Cap was wearing a flag shirt!), and that led me to serve in the military for over 25+ years. *Batman 251* (yes, _The_ 251) - The first BM comic I ever bought (first DC as well). I was older then, around 8, and had always watched the re-runs of the BM TV show, but never bought any of his books, because I didn't want to read "Silly comedy" books, but serious books (in my mind), like the FF, ASM, Avengers, or Hulk. The drawing on the cover stopped me in my tracks and I thought; "That Joker doesn't look funny at all.... he looks so scary!" So I bought it, and was so glad I did. *Where Monsters Dwell 21* - Lastly, around the same age, I saw a cool looking monster on a comic cover. As a long time kid that loved giant monsters (Godzilla and Gamera), I had to buy that book! It had a very cool title as well I thought; _Where Monsters Dwell!_ That was my first time reading the origin of Fin Fang Foom! I loved him instantly, and the name was etched in my mind forever. I couldn't wait to see him again.... Little did I know that I wouldn't see him again until I found old copies of Astonishing Tales where he was with "IT" the living colossus. Well, he is still my favorite large Comic Book monster; but even though I could afford it now, I still haven't bought a copy of Strange Tales #89.... Why would I? I still own that "Where Monsters Dwell" reprint issue. 🥰 *Who am I kidding... I want one soooo BAD! LOL* PS, Loved that SS run as well, collected it from #1 until the end. I got choked up when Steve E. set him "Free" after all those years. And to think, it only took the super master-mind of Ben Grimm to tell him how to do it.😉

Mabuhay, my Filipino Brother... My first significant book was Spider-Man #60. It was the first silver age book I purchased at my local flea market back in my childhood years. The second would be New Mutants #87. I was able to buy this book on a payment plan from a local bookstore that sold a small amount of comics back in my teen years. Lastly, my purchase of Silver Surfer #4. This was my grail book that my cousin sold to me when he picked up a small lot of comic books that were thrown in with a Pokémon lot. Of course, I still own all three... Btw, I too am a Darkhawk fan... Be a Blessing!!!

Happy Thanksgiving ! While I have some pretty high dollar books, none mean as much to me as three fairly inexpensive ones. 1. Action Comics 775 - my favorite Superman story. 2. The Authority #1 - when this book hit the stands, it hit harder than the Watchmen, at least in my opinion. Lots of copycats and some are good but this was amazing. #3 Planetary #1 - Warren Ellis’ second best series and one of my favorites. Great writer. Thanks for the videos 😊

1. Incredible Hulk 219-My first Incredible Hulk comic. Great Cover, Awesome first page art, first lettering for Rick Parker, first comic for Newly Editor in Chief Jim Shooter, and more importantly my Mom purchased for me.(Mark Jewelers) 2. Incredible Hulk 181 purchased for $10 in the 80's and ended up a CGC 3.0 unpressed. I think it should be higher. 3. Amazing Spiderman 129 purchased for $10 in the 80's. ($10 was the most I would spend on one comic) I was making $3.55 an hour. Thank you for sharing again!!

First.. HAPPY THANKSGIVING! If you’re going to be in San Fran, I’ll be in the building. My very first was when Gwen Stacy Died. Not a retro read (When it was released😂) Next in line was the phoenix saga, (still one of the most tragic stories ever written in comics).. Ms. Marvel’s violation, the ignorance and indifference of the Avengers, and her reaction to it (Especially Thor) Tony’s alcoholism (I don’t drink because of that series) Also the Bethany Cabe storyline (Fantastic) Rom’s initial stories that took place in the small West Virginia town enlightened me to raw human paranoia, and the depth that fear can affect humans. And definitely God Loves, Man Kills. X-Men were definitely impactful on my life.. CHEERS!!

Incredible Hulk 420. The book is sad, yet full of compassion. At the end a minor character Chet parks his car on train tracks because he got aids from a transfusion and was afraid his friends would have thought him gay. Betty Banner for most of the story was trying to talk him down from taking his life. In the end it's assumed the train hit him. I'm thankful for this book because in life I was the Betty Banner to someone and like her I failed to help him, but this book keeps me in check about that situation. For a $3 book, it's the only book that has ever made me cry my eyes out. Funny how I consider that $3 book a grail to me.
