Once you get good at this.. progress to 1 on 1s using these skills. Most important is to master these skills and get good at changing direction. Also the reason why we go slowly towards the cone is because if the defender suddenly comes at you, you can react quickly by either going to the outside or the inside. Also because you have momentum going forward, It is very hard to tackle.

Watching Bobby Charlton, he was very Good at that style of dribbling; a feint, a quick change of direction and burst of acceleration and he was past the opposing player.

Love this! People love a trick or skills (which is great of course) but so many underestimate how effective a simple change in speed or direction is. When I dribble, I love the simple drop of the shoulder or feint and accelerate a different direction

1st drill- this skill can successfully use only guys which have very powerfull acceleration! :) if You dont have it...never use this skill! bc. it will be bench immediately! :) 2d drill- left foot! left! :) right foot, then left.... it doesnt work if You use right foot and again right foot :) ONLY!- right, then acceleration and then already left foot! :) right, right its if You gonna beat mannequin! :) with real defender only right then left

Got to disagree with you on both of those comments. Firstly, you only need to be very fast if you are stationary. It is easier to tackle in that case. This is why its important to start slowly with the ball and then you will have momentum. It is very hard to stop. That is why you hear many coaches say, shut down the winger fast before he can start dribbling. Take a look at the way arjen robben dribbles in the video link below. He starts off slow and then changes direction. He doesnt even use much speed in some examples. Even if you are not a fast dribbler it is effective when you can change direction quickly as the defender is facing the wrong way and you have the momentum. kzbin.info/www/bejne/maXdd2awgLR-fpo You can also use the right foot two times, it doesnt matter as you will see in the video above. I would use the right foot and then left foot to get around the person when the person comes very quickly to you if they are close.

@@DavidRowleyFootball thank You for Your answer, of course, with cone You can use any technique, right, left doesnt matter... but with strong defender situation will be different... :) You can repeat these 2 drills with strong defender but ask him to play against You as in real game or as on training and You will see real picture.... Oh! :) I will try to find opportunity and will go to Malaysia! and You will try to repeat these 2 drills with me! :) and after many attempts You will see that both of these comments are absolutely right! :)

Oleg the purpose of this exercise is to first get very good at dribbling and changing direction. Thats why we are using cones. After this can you progress to 1 vs 1 with a friend. Take a look at this video with Thierry Henry and you will see how effective it is at the top level against the best defenders.. 2.18 is a perfect example. kzbin.info/www/bejne/m3e3nYxnZq-dbK8

Oleg Tarasenko the point of the drill is to get better at change of direction. And against a strong defender this will work! All of he best payers on the world use change of direction and that’s what makes them such effective dribblers. I guarantee you if you went 1v1 with David rowley him using change of direction efficiently he would give you a very difficult Time.

@@DavidRowleyFootball 2:18 here You are right, but its exeption, did You notice defender's actions? :) where is he? where is this bullet? what it was? I tried to stop rocket!?.. :) did You notice how powerfull his acceleration is? :) of corse! when You have same acceleration You can play as You want :) did You notice how quickly he moves ball from one point to another?... is it same as work with cones?..... :) do You know how many years he worked on hills to get this accleration? :) and I saw (not by tv or KZbin) his actions from distance of few metters! :) he looks on ball as on something from other planet or other world! :) like ball is alive! I dont know, probably they speak with each other! :)
