Your touch on the Balducci force is fantastic. I've never used that force because I've always thought it was never justified to have the spectator do two cuts like that. You just made this move usable

The only things I learned from this quality video is that they need to open an IKEA where I live so I can get that neato table, always have colorful gelly pods on top of the table when performing table card tricks, and the “threat” is deemed truthful and well taken😬

Honestly i think the best way to do the cross force is indeed place that packet cross wise on the other packet like the books are telling us, BUT not mentioning anything about it. Reason is, i think the cross situation is a stronger visual signal/reminder for "right, that's where the cut happened" when you return to the trick after the misdirection. To place the pack loosely more to the side of the other pack like you suggested might signal "right, that's where he placed the lower portion of the deck". But i agree with not mentioning anything about the actual placing of the packet. I also am known for overthinking anything and everything, especially when it comes to approaching women, so what do i know.
