Hi Jon. Thanks so much for sharing Ray's Candy Store. We're visiting from Scotland this week and popped in yesterday. What a guy - he was actually lying on the floor behind the counter when we went in, but assured us he was fine! Had an amazing egg cream and a long chat about our country, and he was delighted to pose for selfies! Long live Ray! 👍

Jewish people are from Middle East originally. Pierogi, borscht, latkes (potato pancakes) and stuffed cabbage are Central and Eastern European. Jewish people adopted those foods into their cuisine because they lived in those countries hundreds of years. But those are not Jewish foods. They are Russian and Polish and Ukrainian etc food.

3:58…Now THAT would be a good kind of friend to have! Anyone who brought me a Knish (especially one of the Corned beef ones from DZ Akins here in San Diego) would DEFINITELY get a big old smile from me!-I grew up Catholic but in a predominantly Jewish school district in suburban New York City so our school cafeterias always featured Surprisingly good knishes as a lunch choice and most days I’d end up choosing at least one since they were hot and yummy and they were only 15cents in the late ‘70’s
