@@sricharanv9818 Only a certain percent of zombies have the ability to pick up items: 20% on hard, 7% on normal and 1% on easy. Zombies with initially naturally spawned 'rare drop' items (potatoes, iron ingots) don't count, it must be any item picked up after spawning.

Personnally, ever since I saw ianxofour's iron farm, I think I've built it close to 10 times and now know the build by heart. It's an insane and easy build Edit: I didn't think I'd get to be the top comment for this video so I thought I would give some warnings and tips because a lot of people are asking the same thing over and over in the replies. 1. It DOES NOT work for bedrock. I don't know if it's possible to modify it to work for bedrock, but you're probably better off just finding a bedrock specific farm. 2. The zombie does not need a nametag! By going inside of the boat, it can no longer despawn. 3. There's a few reasons why the farm might not work, the two main ones are: - If the farm works for only a few minutes and then stops, check that the zombie is down there in the boat. If the zombie is not in the boat or just isn't there (despawned) then you most likely forgot that the stairs do not start right after the boat but that you have to leave one block open, and then the stairs start. Rewatch 1:45 to understand what I'm talking about. This was a problem I had when I rebuilt the farm from memory and it took me a while to figure it out. - If the farm doesn't work at all but the zombie IS in the boat, then chances are an iron golem spawned somewhere in the 16x13x16 box around the villager that they can spawn in, usually in a cave or if you haven't flattened out a the smalle area around the farm. Hopefully those are helpful, and the last thing I can recommend is going to ianxofour's video ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y6C8qn1sn8uGhrc ) and watching the video as well as reading the description since he usually puts important things in there. There's a lot more information in that video than in this one.

Ever since 1.18, the potential for slime farms has been nearly doubled, although fitting old farms around this concept is confusing. Slime farms can now be extended all the way to y-64, which maybe you could make a video about?

I've seen a simpler design for an automatic crop farm. If you use a fence to divide the farming villager and the bait villager, the food won't get through and can fall into a hopper below.

Coal block is hard to get, you either need to mine it manually or have an automatic tree farm, but kelp farms are relatively easy to build and you can have it automated enough in a way that you only have to, every once in a while, take all the dried kelp from one chest, craft blocks, and put the blocks in another chest.

Best fuel source (in terms of how easy it is to get): STICKS. Chop down some wood, craft planks, then infinite sticks, use sticks as fuel. You will never run out of sticks since they're so abundant, even in the desert (with the dead bushes).

@@1joaootavio Just smelting the planks is more efficient than crafting it into sticks, so it is counter productive (sticks are useful for bamboo farms or nether planks). Also don't destroy dead bushes for sticks, it isn't worth your time/effort and they aren't renewable so you might regret it later.

Protip: Don't accidentally place down water inside the iron farm, for some reason the zombie and 2 villagers switched places and the third villager got killed, the farm kinda still works but it's also kinda broken

I find the iron farm to not be too good, because you can just mine for iron in the early game and for late game, its better to have a good iron farm lasting you for days. The blaze farm was top notch and Imma build it RIGHT NOW!

I tried the iron farm exactly as you did in the video and it does get iron golems to spawn but they seem to spawn every except in the pit with the lava. I suspect the issue may be that the farm is built next to a village that is on a cliffside so there are a few areas that might be closer to the villagers than the pit. I will try and fill those areas in with dirt but if that is not the issue then can anyone think of what the issue might be?

@@joeray4498 there are either caves around or the area around your farm isnt the same level as the trap doors, I had a lake close to my farm which caused the golems to spawn there instead of inside the hole, filling it up till the level of the trap doors fixed it for me

Iron farm: I have made this one before and there is an issue that isn't addressed in this video. If you don't place buttons down on the ground where the boat is, the iron golem will eventually spawn in with the zombie and kill it.

@@dr.chimpanz.1324 apparently my response didn't upload properly or something, so I'm reposting it: Like I said in my initial comment, I have already built this farm. That includes the placement of the torches. Still, the zombie dies. This is due to the iron golem's spawning algorithm allowing golems to spawn on solid blocks with air above them. Golems can also spawn if there is a slab in the air above the spawning block. This means the golem can spawn between the zombie and beds where the slabs are, placing the golem close enough to the zombie to kill it. The algorithm also doesn't check for adjacent block collisions (which is why the golem can spawn in the pit and die by suffocating in the floating stone blocks), so it's possible that the golem can also spawn beside the zombie, half in the wall, giving it a chance to kill the zombie there too. That being said, golems will not spawn if there is a collision with an entity (e.g. the boat, or the zombie), but that depends on the orientation of the golem when it spawns (hit box collision). As the boat doesn't extend under the slabs and there is some space between the boat and the walls, golems might be able to spawn there too. In short, just proceed with caution and place buttons down on the floor (including under the slabs) prior to placing the boat to avoid this issue. I have some problems with the iron golem farm that uses lava: Sometimes the golem will spawn behind the chest and suffocate, and sometimes a golem will spawn outside of the pit and just roam, not dying and not allowing another to spawn?

If they spawn above the pit, the villager isn't deep enough, raise the level by one all around (or build one deeper if you know beforehand). Spawning behind the chest is easy. Torch on every flat surface you don't want then spawning on.
