People have the audacity to say motorcycles are dangerous, then they hop on their road bicycle and ride in traffic, to me that's way more dangerous. But you don't hear people saying. "i can't believe you'd ride a bicycle on the road with cars"
@CycleCruza7 жыл бұрын
Funny you say that, I actually gave up my bicycle to ride motorcycles again because I did not feel safe with traffic flying pass me on my bicycle. At the time several bicycle riders were getting picked off the side of the road and killed by idiot drivers on their cell phones. It's much safer to be flowing with traffic on a motorcycle than traffic flying by you on a bicycle on the side of the road.
@creator44137 жыл бұрын
Ethan Stone that's such a good point. people seem to be a lot more accepting of bicycling maybe cause it's hip to not pollute and to be fit and stuff. weird shit. you see those road signs that say "share the road" with a picture of a bicycle, but never anything in public rhetoric about sharing with motos or looking twice. I only go cycling in the big parks around reservoirs and stuff. drivers are too oblivious in the suburbs
@gregorymallory7 жыл бұрын
Ethan Stone I use to be really in to mountain bike riding before I got my motorcycle. I crashed my mountain bike plenty of times and got hurt but never crashed my motorcycle in almost 10k miles.
@tiehut7 жыл бұрын
statistics do not lie. a much higher percentage of motorcyclists die in accidents compared to bicyclists. i would much rather crash a 20-pound bicycle at 15 mph than a 500-pound motorcycle at 70 mph
@jackalo6267 жыл бұрын
tiehut stats are stats but can be cherry picked. Example of yours being there are exponentially more motorcyclists on the road than bikes and of those people alone, the distance traveled is way way higher so mile for mile that stat would sway back towards motorcycles being safer. Also the stats of alcohol involved with the motorcyclists and no gear as well are higher reasons of deaths than just saying the bike or rider are at a higher chance of danger. To each their own, I've owned many bikes and still keep at least two bikes to this day and am loving it.
@creator44137 жыл бұрын
I always just assume no one can see me or that everyone wants to hit me. I have fun when I'm off by myself on the back roads. also bikers are some of the nicest people. there is a special quality to people who enjoy the freedom and thrill of riding. they have a different view on life that there is more to it than just the daily grind

car drivers are: holding a phone to their head, texting, eating food, drinking out of cups without lids, arguing with their passengers, yelling at their kids, or screwing with their air conditioner/radio. Motorcyclists are keeping an eye on the road and looking ahead for other drivers and riders. hmmmm which is more of a danger on the road?

@CycleCruza I got into a motorcycle accident 3 weeks ago. I always said that if I ever go down I'd continue to ride daily.. Now with a broken left elbow and right wrist, and possible never getting full range of motion and strength on them, I dont think I'll be riding daily anymore as much as I love it and don't want a car.. Motorcycle crashes may not end your life, but they can limit your lifestyle temporarily (months!), or in other cases, permanently.. Perspective changes once you go through something like this.. Stay safe.

Every time someone tells me that "motorcycles are dangerous" all I hear is "I'm too careless to ride a motorcycle." I love your points about being trapped in a car. I also think that the cage gives some drivers a false sense of security. They get a little too wild and that is when accidents happen.

Have to agree that motorcycles are actually quite cheap to maintain. Even a brand new motorcycle is cheaper to insure than an older car. The most expensive maintenance will likely be tires cause they dont last as long as car tires but at least you only have to buy 2. As for the danger, yes it is inherently more dangerous but you also have to figure that a bike is smaller, more maneuverable, and can accelerate quicker to get out of a dangerous situation. Above all else paying attention to your surroundings is the best thing you can do whether riding a bike or driving.

I've been wondering. In the car world, people enjoy driving slow cars and car guys alike like the idea of driving a Miata around a track. But in the motorcycle world, bikers would tell you to sell your "stupid" "slow as fuck" 300 to get a 600 or 1000. Why can't people enjoy slow bikes as much as people enjoy slow cars?

Great video, lots of people defend against getting motorcycles by mentioning crash stories. I'm tired of hearing it.

hey cycle cruza my grandpa told me if you sharpen your gears your bike will shift better and may go faster that's what he does with his cars so I'm sure its the same with bikes

CycleCruza I have a question and I hope you can answer this for me. I am in the process of looking for a 600cc motorcycle and I really like the CBR600rr (never rode one) but when I sit on it, it feels like when I ride it I will be leaned forward the whole time and will not be able to sit up like I did on my CBR250r. Is this the case? I would like to know if I need to look around for another one or not.

Ok I will check it out. Why are they considered naked bikes?

You make some good points...however I cannot help but point out that you are not particularly safe then way you ride. Vlogging while riding quite fast with one/no hands...granted you probably don't ride like that all the time but that kind of makes it worse because people watching this will potentially think its a good idea. Do they have advanced courses in the USA?
@ih8momjokes17 жыл бұрын
i agree but cars are safer than bikes lets just clear that up. a little bump can paralyse a biker or kill him where as the car will just give you a thumb ache or maybe a headache.

My boyfriends dad and all of his riding buddies took a vacation day for a celebration ride the first day Pa allowed riders to ride without a helmet...

I thought its gonna be a stupid crap that tells 3 Misconception for 10 minutes. But if you pay attention, every word he said, is absolutely correct and we bikers do need to change.
