Thanks for this "helpful to think about" tip. Last plie correction my teacher gave me was to remember upper body is going up while you are plieing down. I was collapsing a bit so your tip about the "wall" behind you will give me a nice, helpful visual.

Yes, I've been giving this correction a lot! Feeling that upward pull and resistance to going down helps brings so much elongation into the spine!

Thank you for the tip! I am going to have to remember to keep my heels down. lol And also, a while back, you had suggested using like a tennis ball to roll my feet around because I was having a weird tightness in my heel. I wanted to give u an update and tell you I finally was able to manage to work it out! (I didn't have a tennis ball, but I used a TheraBand to do it). So thank you so much for suggesting to stretch it out :)

Thanks for our very useful videos. I have only just discovered your channel so I have some viewing and practicing to catch up on! Question: My second grand plié looks remarkably similar to my second demi plié - i.e I can't get down very far in my grand. I presume this is simply a question of poor flexibility (which I am working on), but I am not exactly sure what is restricting my movement. It is not hip flexibility, so I am wondering if it could be ankles/achilles? It that possible? Also, how do I judge how far down is my demi?

Hello! Great to "meet" you! yes, ankle and knee can affect the depth of the demi. It doesn't have to be super deep nad my advice would be to continue to work with it and perhaps foam rolling the inside of thighs and the outside of hips. Do you feel restriction in any particular area? As far as differentiating between demi and grande I wouldn't worry about depth as much as breadth if that makes sense. Just think about 2 counts for demi and 4 for grande and expand the body in all energetic directions during that descent!
