Super random fun fact I learned last year when I was trying to figure out why Eric looked so familiar: In the scene where Ellie’s son Charlie gives her the phone, he gets distracted by an episode of Barney & Friends. Coincidentally, the reason I recognized Eric is because he was one of the leads in the movie Barney’s Great Adventure.

It’s because it’s heavily character focused and the characters are just like average people. People like grant and Ellie because they’re cool pateontologists who like dinosaurs we like Malcom because he’s hot and sassy. In most of the movies the ‘evil liars and lawyers’ die and in this one they’re sympathetic and don’t die. And in the past movies even experts would die all of them were in life and death situations and all the experts besides Hammond were eaten alive. But this movie all fake military people die and that’s pretty much it and then all real military people are smart hero’s ex machina , and grant lives because he’s still cool. But average people with no Dino experience are just fine still alive and death doesn’t really matter- but they’re okay and the kid is never in danger even with the dactyls because he’s already lived 8 months and been fine and they don’t kill the kids so it’s just suspense with the knowledge they’ll all be fine. I liked the 3rd more then the second and like the books more then all the movies and they nerfed the second book/movie by changing half the characters for the worst. I still like the movies but I get why people dislike the 3rd compared to the others. If you don’t like the characters and don’t like that they lied to grant then you kinda hope they get eaten in a weird form of justice but they find their kid the movie ends and all the murders/attempted murders they sort of created from getting the plane crew and illegal flight over the island mean nothing. They don’t even get arrested but you watch the film and think ‘they sorta should be right they just ignored two different governments illegally flew in airspace and landed on a private island then got the army called on them and bounced atleast 2-3 checks for thousands to millions of dollars but they’re going home as a happy family to their tile business?’ They didn’t even get injured. The guy who stole the eggs got f*cked up but the two people acting like actual criminals and kidnapping scientists to save their kid on a s*icide mission are just safe.

In this movie, the blue raptors with large stripes, red eyes, with quills on the heads are males, the white ones with spots and yellow eyes are females, the raptors in the first movie are all females, and the ones with colorful tiger stripes and yellow eyes in the second movie are males. For the t-rex in jurassic park era, males are green, females are brown, the two got captured to San diego in the second movie are the father and son.

Originally, it was going to involve teenagers getting stranded on the island following a plane crash on their way to the Galapagos. They encounter a strange hermit living in a treehouse who is none other than Alan Grant, having snuck onto the island to study the dinosaurs in their native habitat. Joe Johnston, the director, thought it was a terrible script and said, "It was like a bad episode of Friends." They even started filming before a script was being written. The scene where the Rex animatronic fights the Spinosaurus animatronic ended up being cut from the movie as the Spinosaurus ripped the Rex'a head right off during filming. They used CGI instead.

The T.Rex getting killed by the Spinosaurus was considered controversial as fans didn't like what happened to their favorite dinosaur. They brought the Rex back for the JURASSIC WORLD Trilogy.
@imle9279 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, but the t rex in this movie isn't the one from the original movie "Rexy." The reason I don't like it however, is because it's physically impossible XD the T rex is "meatier" and more heavy built, the neck has strong muscles and such. And the Spino's skull is so long and slender that the biteforce automatically is weaker than a shorter skull. However it's science fiction so whoever the writers want to win will win! (not arguing with you, just furthering the reason of why the scene is "controversial")
@giorgia1577 Жыл бұрын
it's not cause "it's our favourite dinosaur", but because it'd be impossible. the t-rex had one of the strongest (if not THE strongest) bite of all dinosaurs, and yes spinosaurus was longer but it was piscivore, so it didn't have the teeth and the bite force to kill a t-rex. apart from that I liked their interaction, even if it's irrealistic
@ivaneames4354 Жыл бұрын
Imo the problems with the Spinosaurus can sort of be explained within the franchise cannon. It's mentioned in this film that the Spinosaurus wasn't on Ingen's public list of creations and due to that Grant wonders what else the company has been up to behind the scenes. Given that the first Jurassic World film shows how they are not adverse to major genetic manipulation to make "better" creatures and attract more visitors and investors, the way I look at it is that the Spino behaved like this, and was capable of doing these things, because he had been genetically designed that way rather than as the species was originally. Grant himself at the start of the film says Ingen created "theme park monsters" not actual authentic dinosaurs. Any abnormality with a dinosaur in the franchise can be explained away like this. It's not a perfect explanation but it does pretty well.

Velociraptor was probably a pack hunter, which would have allowed it to attack prey much larger than itself. It also had a very large brain relative to its size - it was one of the smartest dinosaurs. It was very light and very fast, believed to be capable of sprinting at speeds of 40 miles per hour. What was the most intelligent dinosaur? Smartest dinosaur ever - AZ Animals Troodon is believed to be the smartest dinosaur ever, with an EQ of 5.8. as time has gone by, the spinosaurus has gotten weirder and weirder and thus the one in this film has gotten further and further than the real deal. not it's fault, since it's... apparently somewhere between the platypus and the bigfoot of the prehistoric world. most sites have stopped updating artists's renditions. buuut, the makers have leant into it. they made as the films go increasingly science horror, they use spino as an example. it looks so weird because it's unnatural, it's behaviour and sheer power is because of the experiements run on it in development which have left it with murderous rage at the sight of humans.

T-Rex and Spinosaurus were both massive predatory dinosaurs that lived during the late Cretaceous period, but they lived in different regions and at different times. T-Rex lived in North America about 68 to 66 million years ago, while Spinosaurus lived in what is now North Africa around 100 to 93 million years ago. T-Rex was one of the largest carnivorous dinosaurs, measuring up to 12.3 meters in length and weighing up to 9 tons. Spinosaurus, on the other hand, was even larger, reaching up to 18 meters in length and weighing up to 20 tons. This makes Spinosaurus the largest known carnivorous dinosaur. While there is no direct evidence of a battle between T-Rex and Spinosaurus, some scientists believe that Spinosaurus may have been a better swimmer than T-Rex, as it had adaptations for aquatic life, including a long, narrow snout and paddle-like feet. The Spinosaurus has 64 straight, conical teeth and a mouth that was similar to a crocodile. However, its bite power was 19,000 N, and that is nothing compared to the T-Rex. The T-Rex had immensely powerful jaws that allowed the dinosaur to exert upwards of 57,000 N of power on a bite. Moreover, the T-Rex had teeth up to 12 inches long while the Spinosaurus had a few teeth that measured perhaps 6 inches. The T-Rex was made to hunt and kill with its powerful bite, but the Spinosaurus seems better suited to catching fish. The T-Rex gets the biting advantage. The T-Rex gets the benefit of having many very detailed fossilized remains, so we know it had an amazing sense of smell, vision, and hearing. However, we don’t have as much information about Spinosaurus, but it looks like it had good vision and a poor sense of smell. Not much is known about its hearing. T-Rex vs Spinosaurus: Predatory Behaviors The T-Rex would smell, see, or hear prey and then pursue it until they managed to kill it. Their methods were straightforward but very effective. Spinosaurus could have been a pursuit predator, but it could also be an ambush predator, seeking prey in the water or near the water’s edge. The Spinosaurus was heavier, taller, and longer than the T-Rex, but the latter’s bite was far more powerful. The Spinosaurus was also believed to be semi-aquatic, but the T-Rex lived solely on land. Lastly, the T-Rex was far more intelligent than the Spinosaurus and had more acute senses. In a T-Rex vs Spinosaurus fight, the T-Rex would come away victorious. The Spinosaurus does have the benefit of being able to ambush a T-Rex at the edge of the water, and that might be the lone scenario where the T-Rex loses. It would still be hard to pull off given the T-Rex’s amazing senses. Yet, the T-Rex had a massive neck that the Spinosaurus wasn’t going to break with its bite power. The T-Rex could thrash free and clamp down on the Spinosaurus. With all that power and the 12-inch teeth, the most likely outcome is that the T-Rex kills Spinosaurus. In fact, using its high intellect, senses, powerful legs to prevent getting toppled, and tremendous bite, the T-Rex would come into this fight underweight, but it would still have the power to do fatal damage to the other dinosaur. That is where the Spinosaurus comes up short

While I understand people’s frustration with John Hammond , it has to be pointed out that in Jurassic Park 2, the reason he sent the crew to document the island was to get information to give to the government of Costa Rica 🇨🇷 to get protection status for the island so that his nephew ( the guy who ended up being the baby Rex’s first hunt) & the rest of the board from Ingen could not take the dinosaurs off the islan & bring them to the main land. Yes he was crazy/eccentric, but he genuinely felt bad for what happened & was trying to make amends to the best of his abilities. That’s just my 2 cents on the situation 👍 would love to know what anyone else thinks. Hope y’all & your loved ones are all doing well & are blessed ❤❤❤❤❤

The apex predator of the island was the Spinosaurus, Spinosaurus aegyptiacus. It was the largest therapod to have ever lived. (Therapods is the family of large carnivorous dinosaurs). It could grow to 50ft long in length, bigger than the Tyrannosaurus. However, the movie depiction is extremely inaccurate. The real creatures was much more elongated and it was a piscivore, meaning it would feed off mainly fish and river creatures. It existed between 99 and 93.5 million years ago in northern Africa around the same time as the T-rex. The fight between the bull T-rex and the Spino (Asset 87) would've realistically ended when Tyrannosaurus got that first neck bite in, as it had the greatest bite force of any land dwelling creature ever. P.S. The Pterosaurs in the aviary scene aren't actually Pterodactyls. They were actually the larger and more popular Pteranodon.) 👍 🦖

They could’ve just broke his leg but the fact they came anywhere close to thinking of something like that is insane enough.

But his nephew was greedy and just wanted to be more rich he took his own team and went in. John didn’t make anyone of them go. So not his fault.

Correction, the second movie wasn't Johns fault, he tried to keep the island isolated. It was only when his nephew took over InGen did he send a research team, because he suspected his nephew would try something. Which he, of course, did, by trying to capture the dinos to bring back to the mainland. If it wasn't for Johns nephew, none of the second movie would have taken place. The dinos existence is the only thing that is Johns fault.

The Pteranodons were great in this 3rd movie. I love the second one a lot more, although some of those main characters could have been written to be a bit more likeable. I would cut out: The weird title card and have it be the same style as the first 2. Charlie dancing to Barney and going wra wraaaa during the boat attack. It really takes away the suspense. Talking Raptor, just make it roar or cut entirely. A lot less fade in/outs. Just cut the scenes together... it's a bizarre editing choice... this barely happens in the first 2 films.

As a kid this movie was my favourite of the trillogy, loved the story, pacing and loved the idea of a dinosaur that was 'better' than trex (was old enough to think rex was a bit cliche/overused and was excited to see something else for a change). The original movie is my favourite now due to the incredible commentary on american business/science morals (highly reccomend reading the book for more of that), but 3 still comes in second. Never really enjoyed the 2nd movie, always thought it seemed a bit forced/ confusingly edited between the island and urban scenes. The scenes directly inspired from the book and the trex in the city scenes in there work ok, the rest just feels like odd padding with characters constantly making frustrating choices (with the entire boat massacre remaining completely unexplained due to deleted scenes involving raptors that werent even on the boat in the final cut). JP1 and 3 are the only movies in the franchise where I actually LIKE every single character, I don't know how they managed it, they all just seem like actual people. The world trillogy has some SERIOUSLY boring cartoonish characters with few exceptions, Dr. Wu is about the only person they got consistently right and is the human highlight of the series with his relatable struggle to do his job under increasingly unhinged bosses (owen and blue work well in the first 2 movies, rip everyone's personality in JW3, it was so painful hearing such esteemed actors read that script). There was a good movie in its bones there (JW3) but the execution, script and tone needed SERIOUS work, felt like watching at least 2 unfinished movies/scripts stitched together that were edited to remove 90% of the suspense and violence. I'm only a film student and even I noticed some serious editing and continuity issues. JW2 was silly but fun, JW3 was just frustrating. I really hope they quality control any further entries better- or at least allow the writers to finish doing their job next time. 4 comments in one there, if you read it all I hope you enjoyed and have a nice day!
