@@jackhhooker You can use songs form their channel for your youtube videos, but in description of your video you need to put licence links. You can find licence links in description of the song you downloaded. Every song has it. 😊

I've been using these channels for the past year. It does get annoying to search over channels on KZbin for music and sometimes the lead you to a link where you still have to purchase the song. I moved to epidemic and from a convenience and extensive stand points its amazing. I think they could def drop the price to 9.99...
@ElCatrachoJuan6 жыл бұрын
@@EricVentures dude you need to find Joakin Karud on his channel here at KZbin he's sharing his music so we can use that music and the only thing we need to do is at the description of the video share His info as creator of the song that you will find on the video description box so that's it

I'm old. Really old. 72. And I'm cranky. I hate snap track, click track, and clap track. I hate synthesized, repetitive, mind-numbing nuevo rubbish. I hate hearing the same trivial piece of "music" on a vanlife vlog and a kickstarter video and a travelog video. Did I mention I'm cranky? Give me music. Real music. Real instruments. C.O.M.P.O.S.I.T.I.O.N. I've been looking at all these music sites for days and can't find anything I like for my channel. Until today watching your video that is. ARTLIST. Wow. Real. Good. Music. (I'll come clean -- to be honest, I do like hip-hop and indie and some rap if it isn't mindless and derogatory toward women.) MUSICBED looks good too. It's time for my nap now. Thanks for a good video.
@MarcusWarnerMusic6 жыл бұрын
I love your videos Matti but this was a bit depressing to watch (let me explain). I appreciate the fact that affordability is a huge factor for music licensing especially on KZbin, but as I music composer myself I was a bit gutted that you didn't even mention approaching artists directly for music. The thing that scares me about these music libraries is that so much of the music on them is very generic to fit as many applications as possible; subsequently artists that upload to these sites aim to make their music as similar to what is currently being licensed the most, leading to a downward spiral in music quality. For alot of KZbin videos this probably makes sense as the focus of the entire video is just the dialogue. But suggesting it for wedding videos, as well as cinematic short films, just strikes me as a very sheltered approach to video making. Everyone's videos are starting to sound the same because they're all using the same stuff from Epidemic sound most of the time and for those who want to direct feature-length, cinematic movies, none of these sites will come close to replicating what an actual hired composer could create, because they will write something specifically to match the film. I get that the price is a big issue but it doesn't have to be. Find an artist who's at a similar level to you or less in terms of reach/social media following. Ask politely if, in return for crediting them in the video, they'll allow you to monetise a video with their music in it. I guarantee you 9/10 times they'll be fine with it. Even better, find someone to compose music specifically for your film. Then in both scenarios you've got something that's far more unique than if you'd just taken a generic track from one of these libraries AND you're collaborating with us guys in the music industry, which is what film making should be all about. You and Peter often mention the importance of collaborating with other film makers, please give an honourable mention to other artists as well. Thank you for reading :)
@acikacika6 жыл бұрын
Yes. Great point. Fellow composer here and I feel the same. Even tho the platforms contain a fair amount of pretty awesome tracks none of those can suit a specific form as cinema composing. The pricing is different, the dedication is focused, it's a different business case totally. So what these platforms have as an effect is to undermine the creators who execute the original music and score for the content. I'm talking about smaller scale production companies. Thankfully, the art and craft of composing is still alive and well in the high-end movie production market, but all bellow that is just the missinterpretation of this kind of work. Good luck
@MarcusWarnerMusic6 жыл бұрын
Thanks acikacika glad you understand. Very true re: cinema composing vs KZbin videos etc., but my worry is if this is taught as the norm to audiences on a scale as huge as, say Peter and Matti's, it'll start to affect high-end movie production as well. Because for most composers, who traditionally start with indie films and collaborative projects, what are they meant to do when all the indie film makers refuse to use anything other than these music libraries? Write library music, I guess! That'll be pretty sad.
@acikacika6 жыл бұрын
@@MarcusWarnerMusic Yeah, the future doesn't seem that bright. Another argument to that is this emerging trend in sound libraries that provide you with already articulated and precomposed sequences. It's like "I'm a pizza scheff! - bakes a frozen pizza" type of situation. Maybe this is the kind of content writing you ment that is manifesting already. Also the licencing game is getting pretty exploitative of the creators. Let's see what the future brings, but I'll always enjoy creating that's for sure.

Thanks a lot Matti for this video and giving a nice and brief overview! I just would like to add one note I realized when comparing epidemic with artlist: with epidemic you are NOT allowed to use music you downloaded within an active subscription after you cancel the subsription. However, Artlist DOES give you the right to use it forever. I think this should not be underestimated and is giving a pretty strong point to Artlist!
@suprajlo Жыл бұрын
i belive as of 2023 your account with artlist has to be active.
@Bopplise4 жыл бұрын
There is a point missing: you can only use the songs as long as your subscription is active! (You can keep your video online but can‘t create another one) This is a huge disadvantage and keeps me from paying 160$ for a year for few videos because there is the good advice from Matti to create a music library before editing but then you have to pay forever and your stuck with subscription... hope there will be a solution to not pay thousands of $$$

I never used any membership licensing platforms. 90% of the time i just look around on KZbin and Soundcloud and eventually find a good track that I'm allowed to use. Since I don't make any money off of KZbin there are many possibilities for me, because many smaller composers and producers actually let you use their music on non-profit projects if you give credit, which is the least I can do to help them out in return. On the other hand, I make music myself, so if I ever had a project that needed an own soundtrack I could do it myself. Funfact to end this off: I got two Artlist ads on this video!

I am into making videos for KZbin for not so long, maybe a year now, and I have been struggeling to find and being allowed to use music legally. What does it mean to be a CONTENT CREATOR or KZbinR? I mean I am doing coverages of cars and car events for my own purpose. I am not getting payed by a company, I only do it for my channel, and yet did I get an email by one of the licensing platforms saying I was not a content creator with personal content. In the end I managed to find an arrangement with them an this I really appreciate. This is also the reason I will stick to that very platform, because they check on every single user and get in touch with you when needed. It makes you feel like part of the community which is amazing! Thanks for that again, Cheers, Alex
