How does highstakes actually play? Not much is talked about how poker is played at the highest levels, where people are playing for hundreds of thousands of dollars.
In this video I review 3 of the sickest hands played at nosebleeds online cash games in November 2023, with pots going over $100,000.

great format, good explanations how the solver ranges are constructed. I especially like when you give your feedback and immediately show what the solver ranges look like

Your level of great information by minute is amazing. This was perfect. I ussualy dont watch 30 min videos of 4 hands but you were on point. This dinamic of watching the hand with you and then the GTOw inputs on the side and allways thinking every action and every range was perfect. Also your voice is very relaxing hahaha, cheers Saulo, thanks!

Hi ! First great video as always ! For the last spot, since the fish is BTN don't you think Vincente will flat a lot of KTs JTs KJs ? Those combos will surely call a Cbet flop with backdoors flush draw and if so, he has a lot of potential overbluff hand in his range. I think against middle stakes / low stakes regs calling this river is a mistakes (and you can even fold on the turn) but against good regs especialy aggro ones + the fish position factor make this spot actually a really good spot to catch. Love thoses spots ! great work !!!
@saulocostapoker

Thanks Etienne! I'm not sure man. Solver has those hands as 0EV in that 3way spot. If you have a weak unpaired hand, I think the argument that there is a fish left to act makes you more interested in folding rather than calling. Curious to hear why you would think the opposite. If you have a speculative hand or a pair, I can see the fish increasing the EV of those hands, but once you float with a K high on the flop, you want the last player to fold, and a fish might continue more than he should there. As I said in the video, I think it's a good call vs a very agro player, but it's not going to make much money either way due to how uncapped IP is

@@saulocostapoker Great point, i was manly looking at the preflop range (less 4bet to invite the fish in the hand) but it's true that since we are OOP we might fold those floating hands on the flop. It's great to be able to "speak with you" ! I'm a NL 100 NL 200 regulars on french sites and your videos had great value ! Thank a lot to take the time to reply ! Looking for improving and be able to developpe the same kind of winrate you have !

in hand #2 at 18:18 we see OOP folding at low frequency some JJ , especially JhJd. Curious to know why this combo specifically.
@saulocostapoker
@saulocostapoker 6 ай бұрын
JhJd blocks the most likely bluffs from IP. IP wants to have diamonds and hearts when bluffing because hearts blocks continues and diamonds unblocks folds. So when JhJd blocks so many bluffs, it runs into the nuts more often, making it a less profitable call

At 32:03 you say that IP could raise w/o the BDFD. Why would we not use something with a BDFD which has more EQ?
@saulocostapoker
@saulocostapoker 7 ай бұрын
That's a heuristic I've loosely picked up from looking through some 3bet pot sims. Not that we don't or shouldn't use the BDFD ones, but the ones without it can be used more often. My guess is that on boards where you can expect a decent amount of 3bets from OOP, its preferrable not to have the BDFD as not to waste the equity, and make your raising range a bit more polar. Don't quote me on any of that though 😂

Hey Saulo, quick question on the hand between Paque and Wisbrod. We determine with sim's approval that Paque's bluffs are AxKh, AhKx, AhQx, AxQh (if AQo ends up calling turn as discussed), and the occasional 65s and 76s. With that said, why do we determine that BW should then call with Kh and Ah at higher frequencies when they are considerable parts of Paque's bluffing range, while Paque has minimal flushes considering the entire outlook of his range (even though he still has more)? Are we then saying that it is more valuable to block Paque's portion of lead flushes versus the majority of his bluffing lead range? Paque still can have full houses (admittely still not super frequently), while his bluffing range is just incredibly high heart heavy... appreciate the content!
@bhedger3021
@bhedger3021 7 ай бұрын
if you look at the hand combinations at 20:58, flushes are 8% of Paque's shoving range while Ace high is only 0.2%, due to AKo and AQo not getting to the river much at all, AK is mostly jammed preflop and AQ is mostly fold or smaller 5-bet when playing so deep. Those hands can also be folded on flop or turn while AQhh, AJhh are nearly always going to be called pure preflop, flop and turn. therefore it's way more important to have a heart with your calling range to block the much higher % of flushes. should still probably be a mix without a heart with some of the overpairs, but it's definitely a lot closer of a decision.
@burneraccount6130
@burneraccount6130 7 ай бұрын
@@bhedger3021 ah, of course. I misread the combos, apologies. 1/12 hands being flushes seems a bit high regardless of what the solver says lol, but can't argue with sims. appreciate your response, and wish you a good end to your year.
@bhedger3021
@bhedger3021 7 ай бұрын
@@burneraccount6130 that's a % of hands when you jam the river. if anything i'd say 8% is a little on the low end in this spot as I think flushes are some of the more obvious xc xc donk jam river line. either way it's just more important to note that the bluffs are coming more from 65s and 76s than high card hands so blocking value is more important as your entire range is mostly going to be unblocking bluffs anyway. as the caller, it really just will come down to what you expect your opponents range to be on the river, and whether they will bluff you here and what hands they choose to do so with as to how you're going to decide how often and with what hands to call.

Thank you Luiz! Hard to say who is the best, all players at nosebleeds are very good overall. But the player I like the most in terms of style of play is Taisto Janter - he is able to crush with an above average level of aggression, which I prefer over the GTOish style of most other regs
