Arc’teryx Mantis 2 is my go to. I like how the straps actually turn at the connectors instead of sticking straight out of the bag in a single direction. This makes it waaaay more comfortable. I also like how an iPad Mini can also fit inside with ease.

I am not sure about the magnetic clip. How secure is it? Can it be easily pulled off my shoulder by a thief? These are my concerns if I travel with these bags.

Think of it as this way depending on the situation; here in Malaysia for example these magnetic clips save lives as scum ass opportunist thieves on mopeds snatches your bags away from you; these magnets gives way hence preventing you from being dragged along or falling face down to the ground risking you injuries.. my two cents: wear pants w 2 x pockets; keep your most valuables ie: wallet in your right pocket and your mobile in your left (there’re out of sight). For me personally, I would only put items of less significant value which I’m okay to lose in event of the unexpected in this bag such as AirPods, powerbank, mints, tissues, etc..

Oh yes, the Kanken is a classic backpack that hasn't changed in 40 years! Bit pricey for a bag with so little features. Yes I notice Jansport very is popular as a school bag in the US too.
