Secondly, there's a full 1 hour long audio version you can go ahead and listen to of the entire ordeal where a pilot asks him "how's your plane, mines feeling pretty good" and made great conversation with Richard. I've spent a large part of my professional life working in mental health crisis intervention, and the calmness of Bebo's cadence and the humor he was using were absolutely things we see with people who are at high risk of suicide. The Sky King 🤴 RIP Apart from this story tugging at the heartstrings, the thing that is the most heartbreaking is if he had just been given a chance he would've been an amazing pilot. But lack of money? Education? Something else? Obviously prevented him from becoming a pilot, yet without that barrier, we could've had one of the best!! Vietnam vets were some of the worst trained soliders the modern US has ever had. Plenty of them were simply drafted and almost instantly shipped off to Vietnam with essentially no training. There’s stories of guys who before arriving in Vietnam had never even fired a gun before, I’ve even heard one where a guy said throughout his time there he never even learned how to use his pistol and would keep messing up and jamming it. What that lady did was amazing, there’s not a chance in hell I could’ve done it, but calling that degenerate a trained killer is most likely a pretty big stretch.

The sky king is an example of how this world seriously sucks. Dude obviously had talent he was never using and got stuck working a dead end job because of the way our society is structured. I have two BA degrees in engineering, graduated top of my classes, and I'm stuck working in a call center because I'm too over qualified or i dont have any experience. I tried for a long time to get into something and finally landed a really good job, and then covid happened. I feel the sky kings pain.

I know I am a good hard worker that has commitment and loyalty to my job and country or countries I represent, but despite nearly 300 applications around the world in the area of foreign policy, applying for the very bottom jobs to work my way up, I have never been given a real opportunity. Henceforth I am also working full time at a call centre and barely afford to pull by, but the worst thing is my unhappiness.

It is true, however, it seems that you do not take your circumstances on anyone else. This person Bebo decided to take the plane and perform those acrobatics with no experience while putting other people's lives in danger and judging by the conversation with the controllers, all he needed was some validation and his 10 minutes of fame. But for whatever reason this mentally unstable person is being praised as a hero...

I believe that’s exactly what happened with Bebo. He was probably planning it for a long time and that’s why he asked all about the controls. I learned how to drive from a video game at an arcade a long time ago, and I also played flight simulation “games” in school with a console that had all the basic plane controls. Even with a regular console, some games are quite realistic when it comes to how a car or plane functions. I really think he may have felt like he just wasn’t doing anything he really wanted to do in life and believed he never could. I definitely know that feeling. RIP Bebo

I've listened to this story as with most of John's KZbin uploads a couple of times before, but I just couldn't help but give it another listen because I find it so uplifting when bullies and bad mofos pick on the wrong person and become the victim themselves. I couldn't help but laugh at the way John voiced the neighbour saying 'ookkaayyy, then come in and use the phone' so kinda nonchalantly. Susan is the epitomé of my heroine. She dedicates her life to saving and nursing people at the extreme end of the medical profession, up front and personal and is so badass that she even gave this loser the chance to save his own life before he blew it. You can see just how much of a dumbass loser he was after not only totally underestimating his prey and botching his job completely, he proceeded to totally drop the stupid husband in the s**t by having to actually leave a note to himself to call Mike after the job was supposed to be done. Thus making the police's job easy enough for them not to be able to mess up the evidence. My heart and all of my respect goes out to this wonderful woman and I hope the rest of her life pans out into pure undisturbed happiness, free from the influence of the complete pondscum husband and his bottom feeder pals. Thanks Mr Ballen, storyteller extraordinaire without compare! Long live and prosper Susan you true life wonder woman! 😂❤😊

John, you have my deepest sympathy, being stuck in Minnesota, man what a horror! I lived out in that State twice, both times I loved the people I loved the land, but despised the governor and the liberals who ruled like I were in Northern Virginia (another place I lived). I was never so happy to get out of the Army and move from that beautiful screwed up State and come home to South Dakota where the Deer and the Antelope play, where there is ZERO income tax, and a man can breath the free air of the USA as it was in the 50's. Where conceal Carry is not considered Constitutional freedom and no permit is required. Live on John, I know there are perks and downfalls for every State but having lived on the West Coast, the East Coast, in the Desert South West, and South Dakota, I know of what I Speak. I do miss Arizona when the snows of the Dakota's blow but when I lost my wonderful wife of 51 years and 5 days, I lost my urge to drive our old Motor Home South, now I sit in my recliner and dream of the wonderful days when she walked by my side out in the Mohave Desert, down the streets of Washington DC, through the trees in Washington, and the forests of Minnesota as well as across the prairies and streams of the Dakota's.

My heart absolutely broke for the Sky King. Many of us are in that club. You begin to lose a voice of reason or just don’t have one present at all. People’s lives can become so repetitive and consistent it can drive someone into depression and madness. We somehow miss the most important message of all. Of life being the greatest treasure you hold. You cannot let yourself get consumed by the thoughts of doing the unthinkable. It’s a delicate balance and constant war many will fight and lose.

The reason Bebo could pull off the stunts was because he wasn't nervous. He truly didn't care how it went and he just wanted to try it. Normal people can't do that because they would be nervous and afraid to die.

I just watched this even though it is a 3 year old post so apologies for being late to the party. When I heard the audio of Bebo talking to ATC, it was clear to me that nobody could have talked him down. He was so calm and at peace with what he was about to do. Even making jokes. He just wanted to have that last experience that he’d always wanted beforehand. I feel for the people who might carry feelings of guilt that they couldn’t stop him from doing what he did but I hope they know that there is nothing they could have done. And Sue. I’ve heard that story before. But I never tire of it. She’s an absolute legend and a personal hero of mine without me knowing her in any way other than through that story. When I’m in a pickle, I often think to myself What Would Sue Do? And then I put someone in a chokehold and I feel so much better.

I drove a truck for 12 years. Very difficult lifestyle. Decent pay is what keeps people locked in behind the wheel. From what Mr Ballen described with the way Devon was acting, I think he was doing meth. The weird actions and the clickjaw, those are all signs of meth. And then the fact that he couldn’t sleep almost makes me positive that it was involved. But the whole skull in the middle of the road through me for a loop. Im pretty good at “playing detective” for the most part. That part of the story completely throws the story out of perplexity. Possibly a sick wild human found and killed him, dismembered him in the forest and then two years later, decided to give the public some closure and take the remains back to where they came in contact with him before he was “unalived”? The whole alien thing doesn’t sit well with me which should come as a surprise since I’ve actually seen a UFO (i know! You think im crazy!). I just don’t think if he was abducted by aliens that they would bring back his skull. If they were involved, it would have just been a vanishing. Just my two sense…. Thanks for another great story Mr B!
