General comment. Several times I have heard presenters say they have an “international patent.” When they say not, not even Deborah, calls them out on that statement. International patents are very very rare. But also very very expensive, costing close to a million dollars, and also costing a very large amount of money to maintain EVERY YEAR. If I heard someone say they have an international or worldwide patent I would immediately call the out on it. I have 2 USA patents and a European patent pending. Thus I feel I do have first hand experience.

Depending where you are, what you are doing. Most have the option to use noise canceling or not, depending on the situation. Sitting on a flight with a crying baby, they come in quite handy, and I think the risk is pretty low. Laying in bed if you have traffic nearby is another great use.
