Thanks for the tips. I'm sitting in a&e waiting to get forehead stitches/glue because my new skates have picks and I have been learning forward all this time

Man, so happy I'm vegan because we don't get injured like that to need stitches, and we heal and recover fast like wolverine

That's a personal problem of not mastering your own mind and self, and letting anyone else easily control you. 🤣

Could you tell me if skating backwards is less weary for the knees? I'm a couple months after an injury but wishing to skate.
@IceCoachOnline5 жыл бұрын
That's a tough question to answer as it depends on what the injury is and how severe it is. Our personal recommendation is to make sure you take the time to heal correctly. Follow the advice of a physiotherapist or doctor. If you come back from injury too soon, your risk of reinjuring yourself is very high. We understand it is frustrating to wait, we have been there ourselves, but in the long run healing up properly is the priority.

How do you stay off your toes and keep gliding backwards in backwards crossovers? My teacher told me I lost my speed because my toepick slowed it down.
@michellenelson84893 жыл бұрын
It's gonna be a bit uncomfortable but try and lean back almost in a sitting position. It also helps to bend your knees a bit more as your crossing over. Hope this helps!

There's 3 tips.. where's the rest of the video, showing tips 4 through 100? Because I swear my blades are made of only toe picks. Sharpen my blades? You mean sharpen my toe picks, that's all I have. Step 1 foot on the ice... toe pick catches before I even get the 2nd guard off. How is it even possible? I have riedell eclipse blades, vega. The 2 end points of the toe picks are longer than the others, I might just need to try different blades. Smaller toe picks. How many times did I type toe pick in this comment? Not enough to complain about mine!
