What made me really fall in love with the Ducktales reboot was the fact they were focusing more on the family story. In the original series, we never learned anything about the Triplets' parents. But in the reboot we actually learn more about their mother and why Donald and Scrooge have such a difficult relationship. I love how everyone gets a more complex personality. Donald just appeared for a short time in the original series and he was mostly known for his bad anger management and his bad luck. In the reboot he tries his best to be a good father figure and deeply cares about the family. Even Scrooge became more than just a greedy old adventurer. At first I didn't like the design of the reboot but damn... It will be my all-time favorite reboot

I have very mixed feelings about the reboot they completely ruined the characters. They made Scrooge too nice. When you say the sentence I want to make Hewy Dewy and Louie different you are missing the joke that would be like trying to make Patty and Selma different. Before all 3 tripplets were funny but now only Louie is funny. Because he is the mean rude and selfish one. Dewey is Scrappy Doo in a duck's body he is very annoying, Hewy is extremely boring a sterotypical nerd can be funny but they barely utilize him. New Webby is funny both versions are great. Who ever said all women should be tough is an idiot some should be tough and some shouldn't be like the real world. They turned Donald into a whiny pathetic coward who has angst all the time congratulations you ruined the funniest Disney character of all time. Launchpad was never all that funny I feel like he tries too hard.

Blankeye-Sigma Old Scrooge was fine, but he was all about finding more money & begrudgingly indulge in the adventures that came with them. New Scrooge lives for adventure, and if he happens to find wealth & treasure along the way then so much the better.

It doesn't have half of the adventure as the old show, there's no exploration of mythology, or the works of shakespeare. I prefer reboot over the previous adaptation but it really pisses me off when characters (for example like it was in season two premiere) mock global adventuring and keep making jokes out of any drama which isn't connected by main cast. Webby is sad? Ok let's play this serious. Heroes unleashed ancient mummy? Let's beat it with giant burrito. Scrooge and Fergus can't get along? Let's play this for drama (WHERE THERE IS NO REASON FOR ISSUE AND THEY SCREWED UP AWESOME CHAPTER FROM "Life and times of Scrooge McDuck") Webby can find some interesting lore about McDuck clan? Let's make joke out of it not only on Webby BUT FANS of Comics TOO!

Scooby Doo: Mystery Inc. WAS MY JAM! I loved the new twist on the classic show, and how all of the small mysteries in each episode added up to one gigantic whole mystery at the end of the series. I wish it had more than two seasons :(

DuckTales has a plural amount of series (they are DuckTales, both the original and the reboot. And the spin-off is Darkwing Duck. And the movie is Treasure of the Lost Lamp!) and they are all super awesome (except for one elephant-in-the-room which is none other than Quack Pack).

I think TMNT has the best track record with reboots each major one brings it's own flavor to it. 1980's Tmnt was all about Slapstick comedy, 2003 was about dark action story lines. 2012 balanced Comedy with a darker continuing narrative each season. And 2018 is all about fast over the top but goofy action. While what looks to be a solid effort towards giving a decent story. Each is different while keeping the heart that the turtles built up over the years.

One thing I love about the Ducktales reboot is in yesterday's episode, they actually made reference to when Scrooge & Glomgold first met in the comics. They ended up deciding on a contest to see who truly is the richest duck in the world & that's exactly what happened in that comic book but they more of measured all their stuff, with Scrooge of course winning by the thread attached to his lucky dime. I assume that's how this will conclude, Scrooge's number one dime will have his fortune be ten cents more than Glomgold's which calls back to their first encounter within the reboot where Scrooge attempted to pay him a dime for shining his spats. Definitely a lot of love went into this series & it's one of my favorite currently running shows.

1. Not only is Mystery Incorporated an awesome rendition of Scooby-Doo. But it was so good that the current show, Be Cool, Scooby-Doo feels like a punch in the face by comparison. I mean...for years, Daphne has tried to become a strong and intelligent character. But what does Be Cool do...make her into a dumb blonde stereotype...despite the fact that she's a redhead. 2. Voltron: Legendary Defender is a truly awesome edition to the franchise. I've loved the characters since I saw the old show on Toonami as a kid. But I love the directions they're bringing the characters in. I was, however a bit...taken a back at first; when I heard that Pidge's character was a girl. But after seeing her in action and her look, I realized it totally works; unlike some of the reimaginings of characters. Don't even get me started on Titans Go or the upcoming Robin Hood movie's choices of character versions. What really got me sold in Legendary Defender is Lotor's character. Even now, I'm flip-flopping on whether or not to fully love him or hate him (as a character.) Let's just hope and PRAY they never bring in the vehicle version of Voltron. From what I've heard, that one sucked eggs through a crazy straw. 3. I have no shame in admitting that...I'm a Brony, have been since G1. But I feel like I'm a part of the Moderate column among the fans, which stands between the Creatives and Hipsters. I have faint memories of my viewings of G1 and G2 MLP, truth be told. But I DO remember the Witches, the Smooze, the original Tirek, Scorpan from G1. I also recall the slice of life theme G2 tried to do with My Little Pony Tales. When it came to G3, however; it flew under my radar and I wasn't aware of its existence until later into G4. Then, Friendship is Magic came into the picture...and I was hesitant to watch it at first. I thought it would be overly-feminine, like the generations of the show that came before. But after watching it, I was fully hooked. Now, years later; I'm still watching FiM and nigh all the content made by the analysts and the community. It'll be sad to see it end, after Season 9. But let's hope G5 is just as great. 4. The Thundercats reboot was pretty good...but it ended far too soon for me to fully give my thoughts on it. Perhaps, it may find life again on Netflix. 5. I confess that I...actually liked Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, when it was on. Sure; it was weird, had bizarre animation and the characters felt odd. But when you got examples like figures like Sonic, Robotnic and his henchmen; of COURSE they're gonna be zanny, it's their nature. 6. I've only seen a few episodes of The Twisted Tales of Felix on VHS, when Blockbuster was still around. But I confess that they were...mildly entertaining. At least, they entertained me better than TTG would. 7. Of course Ducktales would be No.1 and it deserves that spot. I have only a few memories of the original Ducktales show in my mind. One of them being the episode with animal versions of the Universal Monsters (which was awesome,) another about that caveduck, Bubba and the Magic Lamp movie. But that show WAS entertaining and now mistake. The reboot, however takes elements of the original show and updates them in the right ways. Making them not only memorable but also more appealing. I mean...while the voice actress for the remake's version of Magicka cannot compare to the original. As a character, the new version is much more menacing and villainous. Webby's update is also welcomed; amusingly enough, people have dubbed her the new Mabel Pines (some calling her Wabel.) I also really like the updates to Beakly's character. She's like Carson from Downton Abbey mixed with Kim Possible's gender and fighting skills. One thing confuses me, though; regarding Glomgold, they say he's actually got a South-African accent and not a Scottish one. What exactly, IS a South-African accent and how does it differ from the rest of the country

So, first off... I only heard about the Thundercats reboot and was told it was amazing to watch... So I did and loved it, because I grew up with Thundercats. I however did NOT heat about a reboot of the Voltron... So I'm excited to watch it, and hope it lives up to your rating. The original Scooby Doo has ALWAYS been a classic to me, and the reboot needs no added praise since it's already known to be awesome. But more importantly. You introduced me to a remake of one of my favorite cartoons from the 80-90s, Ducktales... And you're basically saying it's a mix of old Ducktales and Quack Pack, where the triplets differentiate from one another enough and Donald is a main character like he was in Quack Pack. But retaining the old characters that were neglected after the original Ducktales, while retaining the adventures. I've GOT to give this a watch. Thanks for the information!

Not cool, Strider, messing w/ my emotions by putting Voltron & Thundercats nearly side-by-side. I adored the 2011 Thundercats - cast, crew, story, animation - everything hooked me & then BOOM -> cancelled. I'll never not be a little pissed off about that. And Voltron's ending in December … I'm still trying to accept that fact. So, thank you for sending me back into these whirlpools of emotions (not like I ever got free of them, though). Also, I've have been thoroughly enjoying the new Ducktales. I freakin' loose my mind whenever a reference to "Tale Spin" or "Darkwing Duck" is brought up. And there's always something I like about every reboot of TMNT though the 2003 will always be my favorite. I can't get over how dark some of the episodes got: "Same As It Never Was" killed multiple characters & didn't revive them then "Insane in the Membrane" … just, wow.

I can't stand the PPG Reboot, the biggest reason being: Bliss, who took Bunny's place. People have given very valid points for disliking PPG2016, it's not like the haters are trying to be immature. And I get sick of seeing some random student in my current school changing the public devices to use the reboot as a wallpaper. I'm autistic so please don't judge me for this attitude, but I honestly enjoy seeing people rant on PPG2016. It really helps the critique that was given to CN for not paying attention to Craig's rights. That's why I'd rather watch PPGZ anytime over this huscular rebooty trash. Anyway, moving on: I'm glad you could at least enjoy a teeny-tiny piece of the Scooby-Doo Franchise. That's at least a good way to be positive without refusing to give some certain universe a chance! =) On to the next item: I agree that Sonic DIC cartoon is so bad that it's actually good. Certain media with no effort can/may still manage to turn out being really funny ;D Also: It would be an intresting idea for me to catch up with Transformers. It's supposesly a really decent franchise that features effortive ideas for Robots to fight as a vehicles or something else. Of course, wouldn't be one of my interests TopFavourite-wise, but still seems worth catching up =) Other miscallienous comments: Felix the Cat is a memorable classic carton...... if I ever watched it, which I wish 😓 In conclusion: Thank You, Phantom Strider for most of these recent videos! While there still are some minority exceptions of whether you and I disagree on something, you still are oftenly good at making well research and having a typical intelligent POV of whatever ruins something's existence in else. Strider, my peers go craaazy over the Voltron reboot. I know they say the 80's Voltron is nostalgic and a real classic, but you were right about everything with the 2017 one. From my POV it's because the character developments are flawless, each one, loved by millions from their signature distinctive and colorful personalities, the conflicts that are created are relatable to everybody else's, and they keep the characters close, real close, no matter awkward it sometimes can get, it's just adorable, especially the 'friendship' I'm seeing with Lance and Keith. I know that the show can give it much more, then again, I'm proud that it illustrates the truth of our adolescent lives :) #truth #voltron #klance #love

Phantomstrider, because you're a fan of the series Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated, I recommend watching Scooby-Doo On Zombie Island from 1998, It's a masterpiece for a direct-to-DVD movie this cultural cartoon icon presented us. It also developed the characters and changed the tired formula of unmasking the bad guy by featuring supernatural and real monsters with high-quality animation. Plus there's a plot twist that subverts expectations. Remember these two statements, if you do choose to watch this one-hour-long film. 1)- Never judge a book by its cover. 2)- There is more than meets the eye.

I hope Disney's Streaming Service will have The Original Ducktales, because I Love The 2017 Reboot. :) I haven't watched Much of The Original, so it would give me a Great Reason to buy a Membership to The Disney Streaming Service. Imo, the weirdest Cartoon Reboot is definitely Powerpuff Girls Z - I mean what is this?! Is Buttercup supposed to be like Amy Rose (because of her weapon)? About DuckTales and Felix the Cat: Childhood Memories, especially Felix the Cat, which I have last seen in mid-late 90's. :) Actually AoStH isn't a reboot - It's the first Sonic Cartoon in 1993 ;) Voltron and Scooby Doo reboot? Well, the reason for PPGZ is more than "let's make it Japanese!". Powerpuff Girls was really popular in Japan among the viewers of Cartoon Network. But when they tried getting it on more channels to reach viewers that didn't have CN, it was rejected by all the channels, probably due to a very unhealthy mix of racism and xenophobia. So after some boardmeetings they decided to make an anime remake, and since it now was Japanese, they got to air it. I do like the anime despite the story behind it, and they do respect the original and admits being a cheezy remake. But... I don't really know who the target audience is..! Little girls? Young girls? Boys? Perverted men (it goes there sometimes...)? But I kind of like how it parodies how some anime are overly Americanized by the American dubs, and ironically that happened to the dub of this one too. They kind of made a trap, because the dub utterly flopped..! So this is yet another children's anime having a bad dub the whole thing is bashed for, and is not released with the Japanese and subs based on that script. The original Japanese didn't try to be melodramatic, it just had fun and made fun of itself and the genre. It had actual dramatic scenes and stories sometimes, and they worked because they were given the seriousness they deserved. Bubbles is in love with a sick boy who is in the hospital and they can hardly ever meet, but he becomes monster, and when he's possessed he gets healthy again, so Bubbles can't bring herself to defeat him. In the end he hurts Buttercup and Blossom so she purifies him and the monster is gone, but he's sick again. But now that he knows someone is waiting for him, he decides to accept treatment for the first time in 10 years. Now they meet more often, but it's never made clear whether he will survive the treatment or not. It's a really bittersweet arc that is talked about later with the care it needs.

I saw PPGZ and the only difference compared to the original is that they are not sisters despite Professor has a SON. Also, Mojo came out from the zoo and not owned by Professor. When it comes to battle scenes, a noodle being strict for not eating noodles correctly, vegetables came to life, a rubber ducky with two rosey cheeks becomes a Godzilla-esque monster, the Amoeba has a female counterpart, etc. etc. The show was underrated yet WTF.

@@poweroffriendship2.0 with the setting the changes worked, and Ken (Utonium's son) was fun and not just a tag along kid there to fall in love with the girls, and while intelligent he still felt like a kid as he was still naïve. I liked that the dog mascot, Peach, actually was useful and not just there to be cute. I like that outside their magical/scientific girl outfits do they respect that Buttercup/Kaoru is a tomboy...!

Mighty Mouse: The New Adventures was possibly the strangest one I've ever seen. It was like a predecessor to Ren and Stimpy, and fittingly enough John Kricfalusi was one of the writers. I always found Mighty Mouse to be bland and forgettable, so at least the reboot was memorable with its surreal and nonsensical plots and bizarre animation.

I am a huge fan of Xiaolin Showdown, so when I heard it was getting a reboot, I was both excited and skeptical. When people mention cartoons that are a great mix of Western and Eastern animation, they often fail to mention Xiaolin Showdown. Sure, it's animation and storytelling wasn't anything as spectacular as Avatar, but it came pretty close. There were some awesome action/transformation scenes, and each of the three seasons have interesting stories to tell. The main characters, despite being stereotypes, were very likable, and grow as the seasons go on. Like, Raimundo starts off as a trouble maker, but morphs into a leader for his friends to follow and look up to. A few of the villains were also quite interesting, even having some depth to them like Chase Young and even Jack Spicer. The mystical items the Xiaolin monks had to find were fun in appearance and what they could do. Like the Woozy Shooter, which will basically make you high, or Ants in the Pants, which causes ants to appear in someone's pants. In short, Xiaolin Showdown is a fun show. It has a lot to offer. So, while I thought a reboot was unnecessary, I was also interested to see how they would continue the story of the monks. Maybe they could show Raimundo struggling as a leader? Maybe there are bigger villains out there than Chase Young? The result was Xiaolin Chronicles, which can be considered both weird and terrible. I think the biggest issue was that the reboot wasn't made in America, so due to contract issues and whatnot, A LOT of changes were made. Like, Dojo the dragon was yellow instead of green. Not sure why that happened, and it was never explained. The names/looks of the Shen Gong Wu, or mystical items, were changed. The whole voice cast, except Jennifer Hale and Tara Strong, were replaced. Some of the new voices matched the characters fine, but others were just terrible or didn't match up well. Like, I found Jack's new voice to be very obnoxious, and Raimundo sounded congested a lot of the time. Speaking of characters, most of their personalities were screwed with. Raimundo isn't even considered leader anymore, and is shoved in the background while Omi gets the spotlight. Clay has some weird fetish for goats. Dojo is hinted to be in love with Master Fung. Chase Young LAYS AN EGG. I will never get over that. A lot of the new characters add little to nothing to the show. Ping Pong, as adorable as he is, is just a clone of Omi and doesn't do much to help with the monks. He has the ability to control wood, but we NEVER see him do so. We see him use everyone else's abilities, like fire, wind, etc., but never his own element. Kimiko has a sister that shows up for one episode, and her entire backstory makes no sense. Clay gets the same treatment, only he has a brother, and the brother's backstory is just a copy of his sister's. Even some of the old characters don't have much to do, like most of the Heylin other than Chase, Wuya, and Jack, and even Master Fung, who disappears for a while. While Xiaolin Showdown had the seasons/plots sort of tie in together to make a cohesive, interesting story, Xiaolin Chronicles has none of that. Something will happen one episode, and it'll never be mentioned again after. "What? Chase Young laid an egg? Eh, who cares." Nothing ties in together, and everything that happens seems random. It's hard for me to completely hate Chronicles, because it's still part of a series that I love. It also gave me an older Clay with a mullet. X3 But I can't deny that the show is very flawed, and not a very good continuation to Xiaolin Showdown. I think the creator is thinking of making a possible new reboot, since she's seen all the bad feedback over Chronicles. Not sure when/if that'll happen, but if it doesn't, at least the fans come up with interesting stories or characters for the series.

Mystery Inc. was great, but it was horribly bogged down by the incredibly annoying Velma-Scooby-Shaggy drama that saw Velma and Scooby act so out of character. Scooby is a fun loving dog that would have so much more fun with his buddy Shaggy but he wouldn't have it in him to hold a huge grudge on Shaggy because he was dating a girl, even if it mean them having less fun together! And yes, this Velma always had that emotional instability in her that came with her having little no friends and so she desperately wanted to have the relationship with Shaggy, but it was still far too extreme. She threatened to beat him up over it! That makes no sense at all. Even the Daphne and Fred romance, despite being a whole lot better, had its' annoying sides, as in when Daphne was ridiculously expectant of Fred to be devoted to her- she broke up with him because Fred wanted to find his parents! Why not just say "Oh, I'll help" instead of dumping him and treating him like trash! And Fred was being way too stupid in the first season Aside from the ending of the series not suiting the kids Scooby doo was originally created for, I can't find any other real flaws with the series, though. Professor Pericles was amazing. They made a PARROT intimidating. Enough said. The emotional drama at the last episode of the first season was somewhat forced but still impactful. The mystery of Crystal Cove was a great overarching mystery. The planispheric disks were brought in at good times during the seasons. Most of the episodes were really fun. Overall, a great series. Otherwise, I wouldn't have written an essay about it.

One reboot I like is of The Thunderbirds. Thunderbirds are Go is a worthy reboot. The music is awesome. The intro is new while still retaining what main the original great. The episodes are faster and more action packed than the original ones, which were a bit slower in pace. I like them both though.

14:01 I absolutely agree. I started watching DuckTales not so long ago at all (one month), I watched all the episodes as of now and I absolutely loved every single thing about the whole series. Everything! My favorite character would be Launchpad. I like his completely goofy but kind-hearted character and he never fails to make me laugh when he's having screentime. Webby would be my second favorite, she's adorable as hell. Favorite episode? The Shadow War. So much happened in that 45-minute episode and I couldn't stop watching it. I'm not gonna give spoilers though. In summary, I love DuckTales 2017. I haven't seen the first DuckTales, but kinda knew about Donald, Scrooge and the triplets from a start, somehow.

Best reboot? Definitely Voltron for me. Heck, I’d say it’s even better than the original! And the Ducktales reboot shows me there’s still hope for modern cartoon reboots despite what Cartoon Network has done to Teen Titans, Powerpuff Girls and Thundercats. Hell, Thundercats already had a reboot not too long ago (despite being cancelled), so...redundancy much? A small nitpick though: AOSTH is an adaptation of the Sonic games rather than the reboot, being that it aired around the same time as Sonic SATAM and was even produced by the same animation company, DIC Entertainment. Also I can’t believe Powerpuff Girls Z actually exists. Like...it legit looks like a fanmade show rather than something that’s actually official. And it’s just a crying shame that as great as Scooby-Doo Mystery Inc. was, it ended on a cliffhanger... :{
